Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

Opening Doors

Andy stood next to the band van, holding Vale's body to him. They hadn't played yet- but Blasko just informed him that a rep from Standby Records would be at the show watching.

He knew this was their big break and he didn't want to blow it.

They had no stage set up, just there instruments on pavement with a rather cool backdrop they had painted themselves behind everything. The other band playing after them was called Broken Hearts and he'd heard they were cool. They played throughout the LA area a lot and they had brought a decent crowd out.

Vale was holding onto him so tight she felt afraid he would stop breathing. Ever since what had happened earlier that day she found it difficult to let him go.

"Nervous?" She whispered, looking up at him.

He nodded, "A lot."

"Everyone will love you." She said, laying her head back on his chest.

"Like you do?" He smirked.

"Not that much." She chuckled.

"Is anyone even capable!?" He exclaimed.

"Definitely not." She whispered, holding him even tighter. She was incredibly excited to see him perform but she felt uncomfortable after everything that happened today.

"Hey Andy! You ready man?" Ashley asked him. Vale whimpered at the idea of him letting go and he pressed a firm kiss to her forehead.

"You're alright dear." He said, "Go stand with Mitch." She nodded and walked over to he and Jolie. The rest of his band was there too and crowded around her. "We're starting?" Andy asked, looking at the crowd around the area. It was about fifty people and he couldn't help but smile at some of the kids who were jumping excitedly and had their phones out.

How they already had fans, Andy didn't know. But he was so thankful nonetheless.

"Yeah." Ashley chuckled. "Nervous?"

"I'm alright." He laughed, looking around at his friends and band mates. "Let's do this." Andy walked out over to the microphone making a few people scream. He caught eyes with Vale and she smiled, the huge drummer for Suicide Silence, Alex Garzo, was standing next to her protectively along with Talula. Andy had a feeling they'd have to tell the fellow band their secret sooner or later but for now it was smart to keep it just that. A secret. "Hey, how are you doing Los Angeles!?" They all screamed. "Well we're the Black Veil Brides from Hollywood, California and we're going to play you some songs. This one is called We Stitch These Wounds."

Andy smiled as he heard CC begin to wail on his drums and he nodded his head to the beat. Rachel had joined Vale and was grinning at the boys.

They were working it already and Vale couldn't have been more proud. He screamed so well and his singing was even better. His eyes connected with hers every few seconds and she grinned at everything he did.

As the night went on, it seemed more and more people started to get into it. They were jumping and screaming along with Andy and the guys.

"He's amazing!" Mitch smiled as Jolie wrapped an arm around Vale's shoulder.

"He really is. They're going places." Vale noticed Blasko staring at the stage in awe. He felt so happy that the boys were doing so well.

Around the last song a few girls pushed passed Vale and moved her towards the back. "Hey!" Vale frowned, wanting to see her boyfriend.

"Chill out, like he would ever fuck you anyways." One of the girls said. She was blonde and had large boobs making Vale feel self conscious.

"Hold up bitch, that's her boyfriend!" Jolie exclaimed, "Leave her alone!"

"You're his girlfriend?" Another one of the girls laughed.

"They're in love! Stop being such a bitch!" Rachel crossed her arms. They rolled their eyes and walked away from her. Vale sighed and looked down at her hands.

"Thank you so fucking much Hollywood! This was amazing! We'll see you guys real soon! We'll be selling our demo over by the van and some tee shirts. I want to say a huge thank you to Rachel Marie, the owner of this awesome record store for letting us play tonight! Get ready for Broken Hearts coming up next!" Andy grinned, walking off the makeshift stage.

Vale walked to the back of the crowd, no one attempting to follow her. This was just a small show. What would happen when he was even more famous?

Would even more girls come up to Vale the same way?

"I'm sorry, Vale.." She heard Mitch say behind her. She turned and looked at him before giving him a big hug.

"It's okay." She whispered. They were silent for a few moments as they hugged.

"You don't seem so dedicated now, bitch.." A girl walked by, pushing her shoulder and making her stumble back. The other girl shoved her again and Mitch growled.

"Leave her alone." He seethed.

"Vale?" They heard Andy say from behind them. She turned and he pulled her to him. "Are you okay? What's wrong with you!?" He exclaimed, looking at the girls.

"You really want to be with her instead of girls who are willing?" The blonde said, touching his hair. Andy jerked away and just shook his head.

"I'd rather be with Vale over anyone." Andy said, touching her lower back and leading her away. Mitch followed, as they met their group at the new van they had just purchased. It was black and they had painted Black Veil Brides on the side. "Are you alright? She didn't hurt you right?"

"I'm not glass, Andy." She whispered.

"But you're precious to me." He said, holding her at arms length.

"I'm just going to go home.." She shook her head. "I'll see-"

"Babe, you can't go alone." He said, sternly. "Just stay." She sighed, knowing he was right.
She didn't say anything to him, just walked to their van and sat on the edge, behind the plastic table Rachel had helped them set up. She crossed her arms and leaned her head on the side of the van.

"You okay there little angel?" Ashley asked her. She looked up at him and chuckled.

"Not really." She said, swallowing hard.

"Rabid fans? Or band sluts?" Ashley smirked.

"Band sluts. Luckily you guys don't have the first one yet." She said, looking down at her feet.

"I'm sorry, Vale." He said. She felt shocked, not expecting compassion from the whore himself. "But don't take it out on Andy. Look at him." Vale glanced to see him talking to a few fans but he kept looking at her and he blushed when she caught him. "He can't keep his eyes off of you."

"I guess you're right." She said, smiling up at him.

"I know I am." She drew her knees to her chest as they all began talking to fans. She noticed Mitch and the rest of Suicide Silence was as well. Rachel seemed to be enthralled by her tall, long brown haired and bearded boyfriend.

"It's hard being a band girlfriend huh?" Talula said, plopping down next to her.

"Tell me about it." Vale groaned, looking up at her best friend. She leaned her head on her shoulder.

"Girls down here are such bitches. In heaven, no one would ever dream of trying to take someone's soulmate." Tallie shook her head.

"They don't know we're soulmates down here." Vale shrugged.

They waited for another hour or so, hearing the other band play while the guys talked to
everyone. They noticed the guys had a lot of fans there tonight and it made them both giddy with excitement. It was partly because Blasko advertised them so much and it was also because they were a great band. Vale couldn't have been more proud.

"Hey cutie." Andy grinned, walking back to her and wrapping her in a tight hug. She smiled and closed her eyes, leaning against his chest. "We sold all of our shirts!" He grinned.

"Wow! I'm so proud!" She said, kissing his nose.

"Thanks." He said, winking down at her.

"Mr. Biersack?" Andy whipped his head around to see a guy with slicked back hair and a leather jacket on. "I'm Jeremy Fallon from Stanby Records. Blasko asked me to come out and I have to say that I'm more than impressed. We'll be watching you guys." The man said, leaning over and placing a five dollar bill on their table before picking up a demo and nodding. He walked away, leaving Andy with his mouth hanging open.

"Oh my god!" He exclaimed, picking Vale up and spinning her around. She laughed, her arms hugging tight around his shoulders.

"You did it!" She said, kissing him happily.

"I love you." He grinned.

"I love you, too." She said, running a finger under his eye.

"Woo! First show complete!" Ashley screamed. "Come on, love birds. Let's pack this shit up and party our asses off!" Andy set Vale down on her feet and grinned at his band before they helped get everything back in the van.

Comments

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
