Forsaken, I Walk The Night Alone

A Rainy Day

Vale sighed as she laid her head on the clear window of the family van. The wheels stopped right outside of a large church like building. The sign in front said Corner Tow School For Reconciliation.

A school for the criminally challenged. Fucking fantastic. Vale was nothing but a good girl, which is exactly why her family is making her go to Corner Tow with her misdemeanor sister Hallie. They were hesitant to accept a student with such a clean record and good grades but they obliged.

She ran a hand through her brown and blonde hair at the tips, sighing as she rubbed her electric blue eyes. This was not going to be easy at all.

"Okay, girls. We're here." Her father, James, said. He glanced over at his wife, Meredith, nervously.

"Fantastic." Vale muttered, and Hallie rolled her eyes. Her long red hair was gleaming against the grey world around them and her brown eyes scanned the buildings angrily.

"I can't believe your actually making us do this." Hallie groaned.

"You should have thought about that when you partied every night." Meredith said, stepping out into the brisk winter air.

"But I didn't do anything! Why are you making me go!?" Vale exclaimed.

"We need you to look after your sister, Vale. Please stop making a scene." James shook his head. They all jumped out of the large grey van, seemingly blending in with the bleak surroundings.

"Whatever." She said, crossing her arms over her sweater clad chest. She grabbed her duffle bag out of the back and then her laptop bag. "Let's go, I just want to curl up and die on my bed or cot or whatever this prison will supply." She touched the cross around her neck and clutched onto it as she began walking up the cracked sidewalk. She heard her family shuffling behind her and sighed as she heard someone yell wait up.

Vale walked to an old bench and sat down waiting for everyone to catch up. An eerie feeling fell down her spine, tripping over each vertebrae and sending shocks through her body.

"Is someone there?" She asked, feeling eyes on her. She glanced to the van to see her family still by the van. "Well?" She called again, looking around. Footsteps clicked behind her and she turned around the see a tall boy with short black hair and bright, beautiful, perfect blue eyes that matched hers to a tee. He had creamy pale skin, and tattoos adorned a lot of his flesh.

"Hello." He said, in a smooth gravelly voice that made Vale jump out of her skin. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"Well you did. Who are you?" She asked, still clutching her cross. His eyes followed this with amusement.

"Andrew or Andy Biersack." He said, holding his hand out for her to shake. She didn't.

"And your a student?" He nodded.

"Are you the new girl. The one with such a bad record?" He asked.

"No. That's my sister. I'm just here because my parents are making me attend." She said. "I'm Vale Augustina."

"Beautiful." His eyes glimmered. "Well, I hope to see you around Vale."

"Uh you too, I guess." She said. He smiled and began walking away from her.

"Vale!" She turned to see her family. She looked for Andy but he seemed to have disappeared.

"Ready?" Her father asked. She nodded, picking up her bags and walking into the first building they saw. It was the main building and where they were told to meet the head master.
He was a tall man with grey hair and stern looking brown eyes. Vale felt a little nervous around him and usually she was normal around adults.

"Vale and Hallie Augustina?" He asked, looking up from papers on his desk.

"Yes these are our daughters." Meredith said, praying Hallie would behave.

"Hello. I'm Head Master Van Duhron. My grandfather founded this school and it's my biggest achievement and pride. We are a catholic school and you will be expected to attend church every morning at seven on the dot. Breakfast will be at eight, classes start at nine. Lunch is twelve everyday and dinner is at five. You have a curfew at ten. You must be in your room at ten and with no one else but your room mate. Vale you will room with my daughter. She's the only other person who has no record at this school. Hallie you will room with Talula Winters she...well you'll meet her."

"I have two students to show you around outside of my office, I'll get them now." He continued, standing up and opening a door Vale had failed to notice.

Her breath hitched as she saw Andy walk in with another girl. She also had tattoos all over her body and Vale couldn't help but wonder where she got them.

"This is Talula Winters and Andrew Biersack. I apologize my daughter couldn't show you around, Vale, but she is studying. Andrew and Talula are two of our..toughest cases here..so in light they're using you two as a sort of detention." Andy smirked at Vale, his eyes lightning.

"Well, I think it's time we leave you two to the school. Remember that we love you and this is only for your benefit, Hallie. Vale..try to enjoy yourself." James said.

Vale rolled her eyes as both of her parents hugged her and then Hallie. "See you two soon, love you." Meredith smiled.

"See ya." Vale mumbled, clutching her cross again. Andy looked at the action with amusement, and Vale quickly moved her hand away.

The Augustina's walked out leaving their only daughters by themselves.

"Well Andrew and Talula I'll leave you to it. Give them their keys, show them their rooms. I trust you, don't let me down." Duhron said, walking back to his desk. Andy nodded and the four walked out in the hallway.

"I'll see you later, Tallie. I'm going to show Vale some more of the fun spots first." He winked and hugged the small, blonde tattooed girl.

"See you soon, be careful." He nodded.

"Tell CC not to wait up for me." He said and she smiled before pulling Hallie in the opposite direction. "So what do you want to see first? The church, the classrooms, the dining hall, the shitty school we've all been forced to attend..."

"The fourth option seems to cover it all." She chuckled, but her face dropped to a frown. "You knew who I was earlier.."

"On the contrary. I thought you were Hallie." He said. "Everyone said she was beautiful but you.."

"Don't flirt with me, boy. I promised myself I wouldn't..do that.." She said, hoisting her bag higher on her shoulder.

"I'm not flirting, I don't do that either." He said.

"Are you dating Tallie? Is that why?" She asked.

"For someone who doesn't flirt, you seem to care." He chuckled. "But to answer your question, no. She's dating my best friend."

"Ah." She nodded. "So dating..happens here?"

A smirk grew across his perfect mouth. "Sometimes. I mean we are teenagers too."

"I get that." She said, as he opened the door to the building and they stepped out into the cool air.

"So if you don't mind me asking what-"

"Am I here for?" He finished the sentence for her. "Ah drinking under age, smoking.."

"Drugs?" She asked.

He chuckled, "No. I don't do that."

"Well fabulous." She said, crossing her arms again. She just wanted to get this stupid tour over so she could get to her room and read.

"That over there is the church. Every morning, seven on the dot or detention. That's why I'm showing you around today." He said, rolling his eyes.

"This campus seems huge." Vale said, more to herself than to him but Andy had heard her.

"The campus may be big but they are only seventy three- now five I guess- kids here." He said. They began walking through a grassy area with a few kids out and about. "This is the quad, more of a hangout for everyone during the weekend."

Vale was shocked to think about that the fact that this may be most of the kids attending the school. She chuckled to herself as she looked around seeing that this school- like most- had clearly obvious cliques about it.

The "jocks" in the corner with their collars of their over priced polo shirts popped up, and khakis being the common theme throughout.

The "preps" standing around wearing clothes that might have been cool I'm the 90's. Vale guessed these people didn't have the money or outlet to dress in the exact style they wanted too but they certainly tried their hardest.

But out of the corner of her eye she saw a group of three boys. They all had black hair, similar to Andy's but longer. They all had tattoos as well and their wardrobe was hard to miss. Leather, studs, all black. Basically they looked like they fell out of a Kiss music video and Vale was a little freaked out. Especially when Andy waved at them and they all smiled right back.

Vale had been friends with different looking people her whole life. Hell, she was different! Her completely blacked out wardrobe, her love for horror novels, and of course music. Usually if she saw people like the boys in this group she'd smile. They were like her, and that was a comfort.
But that didn't help that creepy feeling that crept up Vale's spine when she saw them looking at her. The way all of their eyes traced her like she was someone to be squashed frightened her. Even more when one of the boys came running up to them. He had tan skin, almond shaped eyes, and many objective tattoos including a few..bare..ladies.

"Andy, what are you doing?" He said, tearing his eyes away from the new girl.

"It's part of my detention. I have to show the new girl around." Andy said, a little timidly. Vale found it strange how his whole demeanor changed just at the sight of these boys. They seemed older than him and he never met the boys gaze.

"Whatever." He said, putting a hand on Andy's shoulder rather forcefully. He leaned in and whispered something in his ear. Vale strained to listen but it was nearly inaudible.
Andy pulled away, looking at him. Fear washed through his deep blue eyes and he nodded. "I get it, Ashley." Vale almost chuckled at the sound of the not opposing name but quickly bit her tongue when Ashley shot her a glare.

He nodded and walked off. Andy grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the quad.
After a few minutes Vale was confused and the way he held her arm so forcefully was painful. "Andy let go, that hurts." She said, trying to yank her arm away. He sighed and dropped it. For the first time since meeting him Vale noticed how tired the boy looked.

"What was that all about?" She asked, shaking her head and rubbing her arm.

"Nothing." He said, "Come on. Let's finish the tour."

Andy showed her everywhere from the cafeteria, to the classrooms. They talked about themselves, trying to get to know one another but Andy seemed timid. He was quiet now after whatever Ashley said to him. The last stop was the dorms and Andy smirked a bit, feeling her key jingle in his pocket.

He stopped in front of her dorm room. "Well this is it." He said, fishing one of the keys out of his pocket. The other was to her window but Andy would keep that. "Here."

"Uh thanks, I guess. Are you sure your okay?" She asked, nerves settling across her face.

"I'm fine." He said, brushing her shoulder with his hand and walking past her. "Maybe I'll see you soon." He called over his shoulder.

"Maybe.." She mumbled. Vale looked down at her key. It was old and worn out. The room number was etched into the top and her heart pounded as she pushed it into the lock and turned.

Inside, the first thing she noticed was the cheery atmosphere and warmth from the tiny fireplace. The walls were a bright pink and the bottom bunk was teal.

"Uhm hi.." Vale said to the tiny blonde girl hunched over at a desk in front of the window. Well, one of the windows. The other had assumably her desk in front of it.

She turned around to reveal bright blue eyes and pale skin. "Oh hi, I didn't see you there! I'm Annalise Van Duhron."

"Vale Augustina." She said, setting her bags down.

"Nice to meet you." Annalise smiled. "So who gave you the tour?"

"Andy or whatever." Vale said, fluffing her hair up.

"Andy Biersack?" Annalise said, her mouth practically salivating. "He's gorgeous, but my father would never approve."

"He's alright. He kind of freaked me out." Vale said, sitting down on the bed.

"Well his friends are pretty weird except for CC. He's cool." Annalise shrugged.

"Ah." Vale said. "So what's my schedule? For classes or whatever.."

"All seniors have the same schedule." She said. "I can show you, don't worry."

Vale's heart was pounding against her chest. If all seniors had the same classes, than Andy would be in all her classes. But so would Ashley and those boys.

"O-okay." She stuttered. "So speaking of Andy, do you know him well?"

"No." She frowned. "No one talks to them."

"Oh.." Vale said. "Well I guess I'll change that."

Annalise smiled at the girl. "You have some serious guts." She glanced at the clock on her wall. "Oh! We should get to dinner!" Vale nodded and followed after her but not before grabbing a book. She was going to get to the bottom of Andrew Biersacks secrets and that was for sure.

But little did Vale know, that she has everything to do with them.

Notes

And so a new story is born. Please please please subscribe and rate if you like it!<3 I'm so excited about this story, I've been thinking about it for a while now and I think you guys will love it! Just like I love you!

P.S.- It will be a supernatural story. What kind of creatures you ask? Only time will tell ;D

Comments

If you're really attached to the idea of being on the popular page, I suggest updating frequently, which makes your story more visible, and making your story really long. What I have written is not, by far, the best available, but sometimes my longer story will randomly become "popular." I couldn't figure out why, until I realized, it's, like, 160 pages long as a word document! So, if I get a new reader, and they read it all from start to finish, that's like a short story getting, like, 40 views! I mean, it still has almost no subscribers or comments. Just a thought. ;)
