My Fallen Angel

I walk into the Starbuck’s for the 4th time since I met that man in hopes that he is there. I look around. Nope, not here... Again... I order an earl grey tea latte and go and sit in a chair. I sit and drink for about an hour before I decide to head home

Walking home from Starbuck’s I run into a guy. When he turns around to look at me, I freeze. He-he has the energy of a demon. I wonder if he knows.

He narrows his eyes at me “Well hello there” He says

“H-hey, sorry for running into you, I wasn’t paying attention” I say, hoping he won’t say it.

I go to walk away, but he grabs my shoulder

His eyes aren’t narrowed anymore and he looks happy “It’s so nice to know there’s another one like me up here” He says. He’s nothing like the only other demon I had run into; rude and looking to mess with me

I let out a breath I didn’t know I had been holding in and smile at him “Yea” I say “Just watch out, there’s another one of us up here that isn’t too nice”

“Really? I just got cast up here so I wouldn’t know. So why are you here?”

“U-um, I don’t really know, I’ve been up here since I was two”

“Wow, so no reason was ever given to you?”

“Nope, what about you?”

“Got into some serious trouble and it was either this or my demise”

“Really? Wow, I always thought a demon would rather die than be on Earth” I say

“Why do you say that?”

“I don’t know, I guess it was just the explanation I gave myself as to why there aren’t that many up here”

“You gotta get into serious trouble before they threaten to kill you or send you up here”

“Well then, what exactly did you do?”

“I, uh, tried to kill another demon, who was higher up than me...” He says quietly

“Really, what’d he do?”

“Threatened my sister”

“Oh” I say simply

“So, have you ever tried to kill anyone?” He asks

“I’d rather not say”

“Alright, fine by me. Anyway, I was given this thing” He says holding out a cell phone “What is it?”

I laugh at him “It’s a phone, you put people’s numbers in it so you can call or text them”

“I can call on people through this little rectangle thing?”

I laugh again “Yea, sorta. Give me it and I’ll show you”

He gives me the phone and I put my number in it and go and find his number. I put it in my phone.

“There” I say handing him his phone back

He looks at it and I send him a text causing him to jump from the sudden vibration

“What’d you do?” He asks

I laugh again “I sent you a text”

“So a text is a message sent through this device?”

“Yea let me show you how to do it” I go to stand next to him and show him how to send a text

“Ah, okay” he says

“Well I got to go” I say “Oh, by the way, what’s your name?”

“Necroise Biak Moliskiu”

“How about Nicholas Blake Matthews? That sounds more... Human”

“Alright, Nicholas, I like that, what’s your name?”

“Jessicka Wayne”

“Do you only have a human name?”

“Yea, I never really got to know what demon life is like” I say “Anyway, I gotta go”

“Alright, see you, Jessicka”
