Life's Passing

I woke up several time threw out the night. Leslie would grab my shirt and pull me back down into reality, literally. Needles to say I didn't get much sleep. I looked at the bright light shining threw the window in the morning. I wanted to sleep so bad. I was afraid though.

I heard a knock on door and rolled over to see Ashley staring at me with a devilish grin. I took in what he was seeing. Me in bed, with Leslie.... "No!" I yelled at him waking Leslie up. "What's going on?" She asked looking around. Ashley burst into laughter, then rubbed his forehead. Hungover, no doubt. Leslie looked around her confused. Her hair was sticking up all over the place. I laughed at her a little bit myself. "CC, wants us all down stairs." Ashley said laughing some more and then headed down stairs.

I stood up and stretched feeling a soreness in my back. "Fuck." I groaned aloud. "That's what you get for flying all night long." Leslie said. I turned around to give her a look but she was already up and walking out into the hallway. I followed behind her as Bekah and Jinxx followed behind me.
We all filled into the kitchen. CC and Ashley were sitting at the table already and seemed to be discussing something. I took a seat, Leslie sat beside me. Bekah on the other side of Leslie, close to CC. "So," CC began. " I think we all need to come together and take action." CC said. " We need to do something about this before it hurts anyone else. We need to know all of our strong suits and our weaknesses.Since we are snowed in why not set up a game plan." I wad impressed. I had never seen CC so serious. He wanted revenge for Andy's death. I didn't blame him I did as well. CC had a note book in front of him and he began to write something down. "Ashley, you see peoples auras'. Can you use this to see if he is coming? " Ashley thought about it for a moment the shook his head. "Yeah, Jinxx's was purple then turned black. I'll be able to see it that way. But I wont know until after its happened." CC took that into consideration and wrote it down. Then he looked at me. "You're a witch."He said and instantly I was taken back to the dream I had. "Yeah, I am." I said and looked up to see CC's face. He was measuring me for a moment. Then moved on. So Leslie, you're a witch too." She nodded and moved her figure in a jazz hand motion. "Yep, yep." She laughed. CC wrote some more down in his note book and then turned to Bekah. " What is it you do?" He asked Bekah with a grin on his face. Oh lord! I knew CC enough to know what that face meant. I moved to kick CC's leg under the table as hard as I could when Leslie cried out. "Son of a bitch! Why did you kick me?" She yelled turning to look over to me and pulling her knee on her now injured leg to her chest. "Sorry, it was meant for CC." I said coldly. CC turned to look at me his face red. He turned back to Bekah then and waited for her answer.
Bekah took a deep breath. " Well," she looked down at her hands. "Its kinda a long story." She said. I looked to CC. He was more than eager to learn about her. "We have time, just start from the beginning." He said. She took another deep breath.
"Well, it started back in 1913. I lived in Chicago at the time in a little shitty apartment with my fiance." I stared at her shock. 1913? What the hell.
"Nathan and I had everything that we were supposed to have. Little flat, furniture. I was to sit at home while he worked during the day. He'd come home and I would fix his dinner, iron his shirts for the next day. I'd sit and sketch in my journals, while he read the paper.
It wasn't until he started work nights that we started to corral. I couldn't stand to be in that house all night long with no one there to do anything for. I had no purpose if we weren't doing things the way we were supposed to.
So I started to look for jobs during the night until..." She took another deep breath and then laughed. " The only job I could get was a Cabaret dancer." We all looked at her shocked, except for Leslie who was playing with her necklace patiently.
"Well, I became quite big under a fake name of course. I was in the club and everything was going as it normally did. I was on stage going threw my routine. I heard gun shots which, for the time, wasn't unusual. This hadn't been the first time I had to run off stage. This night though was different. There were so many men all with guns. It was a whole mob scene and people were getting caught in the cross fire all around. Before I even knew what had happened I was on my knees double over in pain.
I died that night. I remembered spending what felt like an eternity in hell. It sounds crazy but there is an actual hell." She pauses and I noticed CC flinch. He seemed to be thinking about something very hard. We sat there for a moment more while she tried to find her words.
"Finally I woke up the woods around here. A placed I later found out to be quite cliche. They call it devils chair. Its a fucking rock that looked like a chair." She laughed. I walked into town and wondering what the hell I was doing here and what had happened. Everything looked the same but different. Cars were sleeker and went faster. Music sounded different, worse. I was walking out into the middle of a street when I was blind sided by a car. Leslie nearly ran over me and just as she did I jumped into the air afraid. A pair of black wings expanded from back then. Leslie and I hang been chilling ever since." Bekah finished
