The Black Widow
16: Thinking out loud
My heart beat; what can you say about a heart beat? It can skip a beat and it can stop. Mine stopped for a just a second when i met Amy, Andrew's mother. I hate to admit it but she was just like me, or more or less i was like her. But she still don't like me. Even after the interrogation.
The next day came down me like a huge wrecking ball. "How was the funeral?" My mother asked as she entered my office with her poodle in one hand and a huge bag in another. "I knew that man you went to go say goodbye to."
"Shocker." I whispered. "What do you want mother, i am busy." I looked up lowering my glasses to the bridge of my nose.
"I need you to write an article about me."
Leaning back in my chair i crossed my arms, "And what does this article entail; you banging someone?"
"Oh hush." She snapped sitting down, crossing her legs she let the dog roam free in my office. "I am doing a conference on the steps of the Met, i am taking over New-York city with style and love."
"I don't know what that means- a charity perhaps?" My mother nodded brushing her hair back. "I need you to write on how a splendid philanthropist i am."
"You can barley spell the word, now you're planning to become one?" I asked dazed and confused.
She chuckles and nodded. "Do that for me, so i decided on a date for the wedding. Its in two months."
"Why in two months?" I whispered picking up a piece of paper skimming it through. "These dates are all wrong," slowly looking up to the woman in front of me i arched my brow. "So?"
"Because than you have enough time to wiggle out that six pounds you picked up."
"You just called me fat- excuse me i need head out." Grabbing my blazer from the chair i stood up and walked out of my office not even glancing at my mother. "I am not fat." i seethed.
My black heel slowly clicked to the tile floor as people walked pass me with suitcases in their hands and cellphones at their ear. My mouth slightly parted in a soft gasp. The shaggy black long haired man came running to me with a laugh. "Oh my god!" Robert cooed twirling me around. "Sister."
"Hey Robbie. You grew your hair." I whispered twirling a piece of hair around my finger yanking it softly. "Where have you been?"
"Mexico, London, Japan, Greece- i could go on." He chuckled wrapping his arm around my waist. "Mum does not know i am here."
"No. Neither does dad. But i really want you here."
"Max can i lend 60 thousand." Slowly turning around i yanked his arm from me.
"Talk."
"I kinda lost this huge bet to Mexican drug lord. I hate Black jack."
"Yeah Jack is a bitch, don't you remember what i teach you- don't play the player-"
"Play the card, yes i know." He shrugged giving me a soft pout. "Please, oh and can i stay with you?"
"Sure, but we still need to talk about the sixty thousand thing, not now. Later."
