Perfect Weapon

The doctor came in a few moments later. He did a check up on Andy. Then looked up from the clipboard and looked at Ashley and Andy.
“Everything is normal. For now, don’t play ‘Perfect Weapon’ at your concerts and you should be fine, Andrew.”
“But--” Andy started, though he cut himself off when he saw the stern look the doctor gave him.
Andy just sat there in the bed and pouted a little bit. He then sighed. “Fine.”

Back on the tour bus, a couple days later, Andy had been released from the hospital with next to none information.
“How the fuck could the doctor do this?” Andy asked.
“Do what?” Jake asked.
“He restricted us from performing ‘Perfect Weapon’ during our concert. He can’t tell us how to run our show.”
Jake laughed. Andy looked at Jake surprised. “What’s so funny Jake?”
“If that’s the only thing the doctor subscribed to you, then you should be thankful it wasn’t medication.”
Andy was going to argue back, but he knew Jake was right so he didn’t say anything.
“Anyway, I’m going to call it a night.” Andy said as he got up from the couch and headed towards the bunks.

Once Andy disappeared behind the door to the bunks, Ashley got up from his seat and sat next to Jake.
“Hey guys.” Ashley greeted as he noticed Jinxx on the computer on the other side of Jake.
“Hey.” Jake answered.
“Hi.” Jinxx said briefly.
“Hey CC, come over here.” Ashley said.
CC laughed as he got up. “Why?”
“I got to tell you something, the doctor doesn’t want me to tell Andy though. So you guys keep it hushed up okay.”
The three nodded. Jinxx stopped looking for phones and looked at Ashley.
“Does this have to do with the incident at the hospital?” Jinxx asked.
“Yes.”
“Well let’s here it.” CC said as he took a seat on the armrest of the couch.
“The doctor said that if it happens again to sedate him.” Ashley whispered, yet it was loud enough for Jinxx to hear.
“Sedate him? Like the doctor did?” Jake asked.
“Yes, before we left the hospital. The doctor pulled me over to the side and gave me the name of the sedation medicine that he gave Andy. He said one dose of the sedation should give him a clear head.”
“For how long?” Jinxx asked.
“From the time it’s been injected up to eight hours. If he becomes dangerous like at the hospital then he’ll need two doses.” Ashley said.
“I don’t like the sound of this, Ash.” CC said.
“I don’t either, C, but if it’s the only way to keep us safe then it has to be done. Who knows what he could do while under that condition. He may end up killing one of us or a fan. I don’t want that to happen. We’ve all seen the third picture he drew. What we’re doing is to stop that from becoming a reality.” Ashley said.
“And should he go into that state while under the sedation then what, Ash?” Jake asked.
Ashley thought a bit then bit his lower lip. “Damn I forgot to ask him that.” Ashley paused. “Anyway, will you guys be able to do this if there comes a time that its needed?” he asked.
The others nodded.
“But, Ash, I don’t like this. Even though I know it’s for his greater good.” CC said.
“I know, C, I know.” Ashley said.
Jinxx went back to looking at phones. While the others went back to what they were doing before Ashley drew their attention.

“We're running out of time. Get him up.” The first scientist said.
“I would, but it seems as though he’s been lost to us.” Dr. Potemkin said.
The first scientist came down and over to the door. He then knelt down to face Andy. “Did you get his name at least, Potemkin?”
“Yes, his name is Andrew; but he goes by Andy.” Dr. Potemkin answered. “He’s ready to be tested on. He had attacked me just to get my name and we did to him.”
“Like a mere puppet would want to know that.”
“But Kali, I don’t think he’s a full puppet yet. I mean he was still able to think for himself.”
“Then you didn’t put in all of the injections. Take him back to the E.R. and finish the task, before I reassign you to do something else.” Kali answered.
“Yes, sir.” Dr. Potemkin then picked up Andy and brought him back to the experimental room.
He then tied up Andy to the bed. Dr. Potemkin then prepped Andy for injection. He then found the rest of the serum syringes that Kali had mentioned and brought them over to the rolling table. He then started to inject the serum into Andy’s bloodstream.
Andy screamed in pain.

A pained scream from the bunk room got Ashley and the others to jump. Jinxx got up and made his way over to the room.
“Be careful, Jinxx.” Ashley said cautiously.
Jinxx nodded as he opened the door. He cringed at the piercing sound of Andy’s scream. It sounded worse then his screams during their performances. However, he manage to get over to Andy as the screaming died slowly.
“Andy…” Jinxx said concerned.
Andy didn’t respond.
“Andy...wake up….” Jinxx said.
Andy stirred, though he didn’t wake up.
“Andy...wake up….come on, man.”
Andy moved as he did so he swung his arm. Jinxx back away in time, before Andy’s arm reached his face.Andy then sat up and looked around.
“Jinxx?”
“Are you all right? You were screaming like you were in pain.”
“Just a bad dream.”
“A different one or a continuation?”
“Continuation.”
“What was it this time?”
“They took me back to the room I was first in and gave me more injections.”
“Injections? Of what?”
“I don’t know….all I’ve gotten out of the dreams so far is that they experimenting on me for some highly classified weapon.”
“A weapon of what?” Jinxx asked, scared to find out the answer.
Andy looked at Jinxx square in the eyes and stared at him in horror, just as Jinxx looked scared. “Destruction.” Andy said.
“D-do the others know this?”
Andy shook his head. “Ash knows about the weapon part of my dreams but I didn’t tell him what type of weapon.”
“Ash said you had gotten the name of the scientist and the facility you’re being held at in your dreams. Could you tell me?”
“The scientist called himself Dr. Alexander Potemkin at the Caligari sunrise facility.”
Jinxx nodded. “I’ll do some research.”
Andy laughed. “Research? For what?”
“To see if the person and place is real of course.”
“Why?”
Jinxx looked at him. “Why else? Andy, I told you we want to help you figure this out. Going to see the doctor didn’t help much. So I’m going to see if there could be any connections between your dreams and the information you just gave me.”
“Jinxx, if there you think that I had physically gone to that facility-if its real-then my mom would’ve told me or I would have remembered it.”
“That wasn’t what I was thinking, Andy, calm down. I just want to help...and so do the others.”
“Why are you guys so persistent on trying to help me? It’s my problem.”
Jinxx sighed to calm himself. “Because, Andy, we’re worried about you. You already attacked us once. The next time it happens you may end up killing one of us or a fan and you would have no memory of it.”
Andy froze and let what Jinxx just said sink in. “I--” Andy sighed. “I’m sorry.”
Jinxx sat down next to Andy on the bunk and sighed. “Now do you see why we want to help?”
“Yes.”
“You scared the shit out CC in the hospital when you attacked him like you did.”
“Did I hurt him?”
“No, just minor injures like scraps and bruises. But we all had ended up like that.” Jinxx laughed. “My ass gotten a bruise, but that was nothing compared to what Jake and Ash got. They had gotten the same as CC.”
Andy laid back down on his bunk. “I should’ve done something back then...had I known this was how bad it was going to get.”
“What do you mean?” Jinxx asked as he turned to see Andy.
“ You all know these dreams started when we did the music video for ‘Perfect Weapon’.”
“Yes.”
“Well, the first dream I had was that night. And it was the same scientists from these dreams.”
“What did they do?”
“Took me away from the band and placed me in the room from my second picture I drew. They didn’t do much, just saying that I was going to be needed later on down the road for something. They didn’t tell me what though.”
“So the first dream you had since we’ve been in Missouri, was the continuation of that dream?”
“Yes.”
Jinxx then got up and started to head out to the front of the bus.
“‘Last rites in a lost city, I can’t fight for a life I’ve never known. Dark lights giving no pity. Last rites for a place I call my home.’” Andy recited some lyrics.
“What?” Jinxx turned around.
“Last rites.” Andy said.
Jinxx just looked at him.
“Our song...from our fourth album.”
Jinxx laughed. “I know that...it just caught me off guard when you said that.”
“Oh.”
“Anyway, come join us when you’re ready. We’re almost to California.”
“Okay.” Andy said as Jinxx left.
Jinxx got back to the front of the bus.
“What was that all about?” CC asked.
“What was what all about?” Jinxx asked, as he took to the computer again.
“Him screaming.” Jake asked.
“Oh, that.” Jinxx said as he typed in the scientist name in the search engine. “He had another dream….a continuation.”
“What happened this time?” Ashley asked.
“The--oh this is interesting.” Jinxx said as he found the name. “Hey Ash you know the scientist name, Andy mentioned.”
“Yeah, what about it?”
Jake and CC looked from Ashley to Jinxx in lost confusion. “Alexander Potemkin. I found him.” Jinxx said.
“What!?” Ashley exclaimed. “he’s a real person?”
“He was back in the seventeen hundreds. It says here he was a Russian noble, so it couldn’t be the same person from Andy’s dream.” Jinxx said as he typed in the facility’s name.
“And what of the facility?” Ashley asked.
“Not real...I got nothing.” Jinxx answered when it came up as Ashley was asking.
Ashley sighed and leaned back in his seat. “That’s good to know.” Ashley then looked over at Jinxx. “Hang on...how do you know of the scientist’s and facility’s name?”
“Andy told me when I went in there to wake him up. Anyway as I was saying, the scientist Dr. Alexander Potemkin brought Andy back to the room from his first drawing and started the injections again.”
“Shit...what kind of weapon are they planning on to turn him into then?”
“From what he told me...and he left it out from when you talked to him in the hospital...he told me that they want a highly classified weapon f--”
“that’s what he told me.” Ashley interrupted.
“Right but he didn’t tell you that it was for destruction; did he?”
Ashley’s face lit up in horror. “That’s why he mentioned the ‘senseless, mind controlled humanized monster’ that’s literally what they’re making him into.”
“Glad to know we could be apart of the conversation, huh, CC.” Jake said as he laughed a little.
“Yeah.” CC answered. “Whelp, our rest stop is here. I’m going out for a stretch. Want to come, Jake?”
“Sure.” Jake answered as the tour bus came to a stop.
