When all else fails... fake a smile.

Chapter 2... Just drive away

We arrived at my house, “Stay here ok?” Leah just smiled from the front seat, “Hurry up!” I walked up to the front door. My mom’s car wasn’t in the drive, so it means my dad is the only one there. I opened the door, the smell of alcohol hit me in the face. It wasn’t till I closed the door, that I saw my dad sitting in a chair, crying. He looked up, tears running down his face, “This is your fucking fault. If you weren’t such a piece of shit human,” he threw an empty glass bottle at me. I ducked, “What do you mean?” I slowly stood up, excepting another object to come flying at me. “You mother left. All. Because. Of. You. Here read the damn note,” he said thrusting it in my face. It was her hand writing. It said:

“To whoever cares,

I can’t take having a fucked up ‘daughter’, if that is even the word to describe her, and a lazy drunk husband. So I left, and will never come back.”

I felt tears sting my eyes, “I…I just….I’m sorry.” I didn’t move fast enough, because another bottle came flying and hit me in the head. “Ow! You fucking fucker fuck,” I said as I held my head. It was bleeding now. I turned and went to my room as fast as I could, threw whatever clothes my hand touched in to a bag. As I was doing this I heard, “you can’t run forever Brooke. And you can never out run what you are, WORTHLESS!” I went to go out the door when my “dad” grabbed my arm, “You are not leaving me,” he slurred. I pulled my arm out of his grip. “I’m not yours to control anymore,” I said venom dripping off of every word.

I slammed the door when I left. When I got close to the car, panic and fear took over her face, “OMG Brooke are you ok? What happened?” I threw my bag in to the back seat, “Nothing. I am never going to go back there. That’s all you need to know.” I stepped on the gas as my drunken angry father came stumbling outside. He went to throw a bottle at the car but missed. “Damn what happened?” I just stared out at the road,” Nothing and something,” as I said this a tear rolled down my cheek. So I left my old poor excuse of a house, for a hopefully fun filled car ride with Leah, and my only mean of dealing with everything that happened, my razor.
