Forever Us

I woke up to the sound of Skylar screaming.

“Skylar?!” I yelled, but the only response was a mixture of screaming and crying. I jumped out of bed and ran into the spare bedroom. She was kicking and thrashing in her sleep, tears streaming down her face as she yelled “Andy” and “Taylor”. I sat on the edge of the bed and shook her awake. “Skylar! Sky! It’s okay! Shhhh, wake up!” I said until she finally woke up. The screaming stopped but the crying didn’t. “Shhhh, it’s okay, Sky, it’s okay, just a nightmare. It’s going to get better. Shhhhh.” I cooed, pulling her into my lap, she rested her head on my chest as I rocked us back and forth, I felt her tears on my bare skin and her arms wrapped around me tightly. “Are you okay?” I asked after a while of soothing rocks. She nodded, but never said a thing to me the rest of the night. After I thought she was asleep I put her back down and started to walk out of the room until I heard another whimper. “Want me to sleep in here with you?” I asked and she nodded again. I walked over and laid down in bed next to her, pulling her closer to me, spooning. I put my head on top of hers and everything was almost perfect again. We both fell asleep like this.

My alarm went off at 9:00 in the other room. I got up, making sure she stayed asleep and turned it off. I changed into a pair of black skinny jeans ripped at the knee and a Misfits shirt. I walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then brushed out my hair. I walked back into Skylar’s room and kissed her cheek. “Hey, you should probably get up, we have to leave soon.” I whispered. She opened her eyes and stared at me for a moment then got up and got dressed. I walked into Taylor’s room and did the same for him. I went downstairs and turned on the TV again and watched The Fresh Prince Of Bell-Air until they came down, ready to go. “Bob said he has some big news on the phone earlier.” I said as we parked the car for the studio.

“What is it?” Skylar asked, finally saying something since last night.

“Dunno, honestly. But I’m sure he’ll talk about it today.” I pulled open the car door for Skylar. She stepped out gracefully, then helped Taylor out. We buzzed in and Skylar and Aaron were immediately embraced by hugs from the guys.

“You’re one of us now, man!” Cc said cheerfully, hugging her.

“What?” She asked, confused.

“He just means… welcome to the pack in other words.” I smiled. “Hey, Bob. What’d you need to talk about?” I asked as he walked into the crammed office we were all in.

“Well, boys… Warped Tour, 2015. You’re there!” He shouted. I jumped up in the air with the rest of the guys. Yes! Fucking yes! I ‘m so damn excited! Warped Tour was an amazing to meet all of the fans world wide and it reminds me of my childhood, it’s just great.
