---Andy’s POV---
She wouldn’t let me in her room to help. I tried tugging on the door a few times, but it still wasn’t opening. I decided this called for desperate times. I sat down against the door and began, “Skylar, you have to let me in so I can help you, okay? I want to help! I always have! Okay? I love you, damn it! The day you left… I left school early so I could come see you and… you just weren’t there. I-I-I can’t tell you how hard this was on me, and I know it was hard on you too. Remember all of the good times we had together? I know you do. Try to remember all of those times, remember how you trusted me. You have to put that faith back in me… At least for a little bit so I can help you, alright?” I tried keeping calm, but my emotions started to catch in my throat just thinking about her leaving again. It was silent for the next two or three minutes, neither one of us knowing what to say next.
“I…I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m in constant fear, Andy. I’m weak. I can’t do this anymore. Okay? Just… Take care of Aaron for me, please.” She said through loud sobs. I bit my lip. She couldn’t do this. She can’t.
“Alright, so you’re choosing the hard way.” I sighed and got up. I sent my fist fling into the door, then another one, a few pieces of wood came off. This was going nowhere. I sighed and walked downstairs quickly to see Aaron still crying on the couch. “Hey, buddy. Can you get something for me, please?” He nodded. “Alright, could you go get me one of your big toys for me, please?” I asked. He nodded again and I watched as he pushed past me to run upstairs to his room. I walked up behind him and while I waited I sat down by Skylar’s room still. “It’s going to be okay, Skylar.” I cooed. Still no response. I started to worry if she really had decided to end it all, but my thoughts were disrupted by Aaron handing me a large, heavy, toy truck. “Back up, okay?” I whispered to Aaron and he did as he was told. What a good kid. I slammed the truck into the door knob, hoping to break the lock a few times, then I heard a click. I threw down the truck and pushed the door open to find Skylar laying against the bed, blood all over her and a bottle of rum in her hand, she was passed out. I ran over to her quickly. “Skylar!” I yelled and tears fell down my face, I sat down beside her on the floor, pulling her onto my lap. I tried to look to wherever she was bleeding. Finally I found where. She had cut her wrists, they looked bad, but not bad enough. I cried and rocked her back and forth. Suddenly I realized… what the hell was I doing? I picked her up and ran downstairs with her and finally put her in my back seat. I ran back inside and Aaron looked shocked, sitting on the couch. “We need to go, okay?” I somewhat yelled out of panic at Aaron. He didn’t say anything, just stood there, but I could see years welling up in his big blue eyes. “Alright, let’s go.” I huffed and bent down, picking Aaron up too. I carried him to the car and set him in the front seat as the back one was taken up by his unconscious mother. I sped to the hospital. This was way more than a dream. This is about way more than a dream. I repeated in my head as I drove.
