Devils Daughters

Ali headed straight to the bathroom and turned on the water when we got back to the room. Ashley and Andy decided to hang with the rest of the guys in their room and the guards went with them.


I walked into the bathroom, shocking Ali a little.


"Hey," I said as I sat on the toilet.


"Hey," she replied flatly.


"We are almost in the clear, I think," I spoke softly just in case anyone came back into the room.


"Yeah. I just hope we can make it. I don't know if I can make it if all of this comes crashing down," she confessed. "But at the same time I don't know how well I can keep myself from telling Andy, either."


"If you do, we both go to jail," I said sternly. She drug me into this, she was going to see it to the end. Whatever that end might be.


"I know. I wouldn't do anything that would make you pay for something I started," she looked at me from the other side of the opaque curtain.


"Eh, I could've said no," I eased up a little. I can hear in her voice that she is on the edge of something, I just don't know what.
We sat in silence for a few moments before she shut off the now cold water.


"Towel?" She asked as she held out an arm.


I handed her the cloth just in time for the door to burst open.


"ALESE! JESSE!! COME HERE! QUICK!" We heard Ashley and Andy screaming from the main room.


Ali and I exchanged looks of concern before she shrugged on a robe, wrapped her hair and we walked into the room where seven men stood staring at us, facial expressions ranging from CC and Jinxx's confusion to Ashley's perverted smirk. I rolled my eyes at him.


"What? Is everyone okay? Did something happen?" Ali asked as she reached for Andy.


"Everyone is fine, we just got some really good news," Andy explained.


"What's that?" I asked as I looked at Ashley again.


"Well," Ash began, "It turns out that girls fingerprints were all over everything at the venue. The tablets that she apparently used as a detonator, the handles to the rooms, even a few things in the mens room. Our guess is she was looking for us before she set it off. One of the cameras caught her going into the building just before everything happened, too. She's officially been taken into custody and is going to jail," he explained as well as he could. He looked relieved at the thought of not having to see that woman ever again.


"What?" Ali and I gasped at the same time as we tried to comprehend what had just been said.


Andy wrapped his arms around Ali.


"They have all the evidence they need to prove she was behind it. Now all they have to do is get a confession or more evidence from the guy I identified and we are done with this whole ordeal," he spoke mostly to Ali.


My sister and I looked at each other, a mix of emotions in our eyes. We knew we needed to talk again. We quickly masked our faces with an illusion of relief and hugged the guys. Later we went to grab dinner and a few drinks before we headed back to our rooms.


Somehow everyone ended up partying in Jinxx, CC and Jake's room, so when everyone passed out Ali and I snuck back across the hall, making sure no one was in the room before we hid in the bathroom and ran the shower just for added insurance that we wouldn't be heard.


"What the hell do we do?" she asked me, clearly panicking.


"What do you mean?" I returned. "We go about our lives and forget everything."


"But that other girl is taking the fall for something we did," Ali freaked out.


"No. The other girl is a psycho who made the mistake of touching a bunch of things at a crime scene and obviously was there for some reason. Who can say that she wasn't going to hurt the guys?" I tried to reason.


Normally the roles would have been reversed, but she had convinced me to get to this point, and we were too far in to turn back now.


"We don't know that she was going to. Jesse that girl is innocent as far as we know!" she began, but we heard a noise outside the door.


We both stopped talking immediately as the color drained from our faces.


Ali looked like she was going to vomit as she reached for the door handle, turning it slowly.


She pulled it open for us to see Andy and Ashley standing on the other side with drunken looks of shock and confusion...and maybe a little nausea.


"What were you two talking about? Who's innocent?" Andy asked Ali very sternly.


We looked to each other. Luckily no one else was awake, or at least they weren't in this room, and we tried to get past the guys.


Unfortunately they weren't as drunk as initially thought and they both managed to grab us by our wrists, Ashley throwing me in a chair while Andy threw Ali on the couch.


"Well," Ali started as I looked over to her and she tried to look back.


"Hey! Eyes here!" Andy barked, causing Ali to jump a little as she snapped back to meet his gaze.


Ashley just grabbed my chin and pointed my face back to him.


'Well...how the hell do we get out of this one?' I thought to myself as the guys waited for us to answer.
