Our faith will silence the doubt

Kaili and Valentin had decided to keep the whole concert thing a secret from Angela. It would be a great surprise for her, since her birthday was a day before the concert. Kaili sat on the kitchen table as she watched Valentin typing a book report for college. She yawned, “I’m bored. Let’s watch a movie.” “You’re so impatient, I just started writing.” “No you haven’t! You’ve been at it for an hour now.” Valentin blinked confused, “Really? Damn…” “Are you almost finished?” Valentin shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “Kinda.” “Let me see.” “No!” Valentin hid the laptop from her. “Come on!” “No!” “Valentin!” They started to fight and two minutes later Kaili had tackled him on the ground. She looked at the laptop and busted out laughing. Valentin sat up rubbing his head frowning. “One hour and you haven’t even finished the first paragraph?” Kaili kept laughing. “Writing a book report is hard work!” “Have you even read the book.” “Yeah.” “What’s the book called?” “Lord of the flies.” “Didn’t you read that book in high school?” “No, have you? “ “Hmm, I think I did.”
Valentin looked at her confused. “You’ve been remembering an awful lot lately haven’t you?” Kaili nodded, “Ever since I stopped taking my medicine.” “Maybe that medicine was what was affecting you.” “You think so?” “Yeah, have you figured out what it’s called?” Kaili shook her head. “No.” “Hmm. We’ll check up on that later.” “Okay.” “What else have you remembered?” “Let’s finish your book report first and then we’ll talk.” “Deal.” “Now let’s see.” She quickly read the first paragraph.” “Let’s just add a bit more detail to the heading.” Kaili furiously started typing. An hour later they were done; well more like Kaili was done. Kaili rubbed her hands. “Wow you’re a very fast typed. How’d you remember what the book was about?” “Well I liked that book it was creepy but interesting. Now let’s watch a movie.” Valentin nodded. “First we listen to some music.” “Mm okay.”
Kaili frowned as Black Veil Brides started to play through the laptop speakers. Valentin smiled, “What? You have to practice. The concert is in five days.” Ugh fine. Got the lyrics on the screen?” “Yes ma’am.” “What’s the song called?” “I am bulletproof.¨ Kaili looked at the lyrics on the screen and she tried to follow the rhythm of the music. ¨Got something to live for, I know that I won´t surrender. A warrior of you.¨ Valentin laughed, ¨No it´s a warrior of youth.¨ Kaili frowned, ¨He said you.¨ ¨Are you saying the lyrics are wrong?¨ Kaili shrugged. ¨Keep singing.¨ ¨A shout to the new world order. I am bulletproof!¨ Valentin nodded and sang along with her. Valentin started doing the guitar solo with a fake guitar and Kaili laughed. He looked at her smiling and Kaili kept singing and dancing with her. ¨I am bulletproof!¨ She did a back flip and landed perfectly. Valentin let out a soft whistle. ¨Wow! That´s really good. Where you a cheerleader by any chance?¨ Kaili sat on the table and thought. ¨Um yeah, I thought so. Yeah, I was! I was the co-captain.¨ ¨Wow really? That´s super cool.¨ Kaili grinned, ¨Yup.¨ Valentin opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by the doorbell. ¨I got it.¨ ¨No, me!¨ Kaili and Valentin raced to the door, Kaili jumped on his back as he got ahead of her. Valentin almost fell but regained his balance as he caught her. He laughed and opened the door.
Mrs. Pennington grinned as she saw her daughter on her future husband´s back laughing. ¨Mom?¨ ¨I´m so happy to see that you guys are getting along well. You already look like a happily married couple.¨ Mrs. Sumpter smiled, ¨Valentin are you finally accepting this?¨ Valentin shrugged, ¨If I have to be forced to marry anyone I´m glad it was Kaili.¨ Mrs. Sumpter frowned at her son, but Kaili smiled. ¨I´m glad I got forced to marry Valentin too. I think we could actually have a chance together.¨ Mrs. Pennington grinned, ¨Of course you two can be happy together.¨ Valentin moved to the side, ¨Come in.¨ Mrs. Sumpter looked around the living room and smiled. ¨Your house is lovely!¨ ¨I couldn´t have done it without Kaili, she´s been helping me all week.¨Mrs. Pennington smiled, ¨So that´s where you´ve been all week.¨ ¨I told you I was going to be with Valentin.¨ ¨I thought you were just making up excuses to not spend time with me.¨ Kaili rolled her eyes. Valentin smiled, ¨How about I show you guys around the house?¨ Kaili jumped off Valentin´s back and ran to the dinning room. She quickly changed the song. Mrs. Pennington looked at her daughter confused, ¨What´s the rush, what where you two up to?¨ Kaili smiled nervously, ¨Nothing.¨ Mrs. Pennington moved closer to the computer, ¨Kaili…¨ Valentin´s eyes widened as he remembered Mrs. Pennington didn´t like Kaili listening to rock, metal, or any of that kind of music. ¨I was teaching her how to dance…bachata.¨
