Our faith will silence the doubt

“I saw them that day as they drove off. My parents were going to pick them up for the party. I was so happy, I was going to invite Dennis, I knew he’d be there with her. They were inseparable. We were turning the corner on their street when a car almost crashed into us. That’s when I saw them. I didn’t see Dave very well, he was in the back seat, he seemed to be struggling with someone. But I did see Tammy. She was grinning like a witch, her eyes were mad with excitement. It was as if she’d just won the lottery. I remember daddy yelling at her but she ignored him. When we got near the house we saw the screen door wide open and the front door too. It was odd because auntie never left the screen door open. That’s when I felt like throwing up. Near the door was the bracelet I had given Kathie. She had promised never to take it off, that’s when I knew something was wrong. I ran out the door as soon as the car stopped and ran into the house. That’s when the smell of blood hit my nose. I saw Dennis, I thought he was dead. But I felt his heart beating, and he whispered Kathie’s name. That’s when my parents walked in, mom screamed, and dad I’ll never forget dad’s face. It was like a face of a dying man. I didn’t see auntie and uncle’s bodies, but mom’s scream was enough. Mom hid my face to her chest before I was able to see their bodies. But the smell of blood still haunts me. That’s when I knew that the woman I had seen earlier had done this. I’ve always been good with guesses so my parents believed me as soon as I told them.” Blu looked at Andy who held a tissue in front of her. She blinked coming back to reality and grabbed the tissue. When had she started crying?
Blu half smiled as she let out a shaking breath. “I was glad Dennis was okay. I would have gone crazy if…if he had ended up like my auntie and uncle. Losing them, losing Kathie was enough. I moved permanently to Europe a while after the incident, my parents didn’t want Tammy finding us. I didn’t hear from Dennis after that. As soon as I turned fifteen my parents told me about Tammy and how she was relate to my uncle and auntie. That’s when I swore to find Kathie. She had to know the truth that Tammy had killed her parents, and that Tammy was just a crazy bitch. I found out a few months ago where Tammy lived, but I hadn’t had time to go to the US to find out until a month ago, but when I got to the Parker’s house the new owner told me that they had moved a while ago.”
“Kathie knew. She knew the whole truth.” Blu looked at Ashley confused. Andy stood up taking a cig from the table. “We found her.” He looked at James and smiled, “Well she and James found us. When I saw those blue eyes I felt hypnotized. But she was so different; she had lost her blonde hair.” “They took her golden locks away.” “No, her hair changed color it has something to do with genetics. And she liked to straighten her hair because her curls made her feel scared.” “Poor thing, she was traumatized.” “Who wouldn’t be after seeing her parents get shot in the head?” CC stared at Jinxx. Andy lit the cig. “She didn’t remember anything about what happened. She lived her whole life thinking she was Zoey Parker. But she started having dreams a few months before she found me. She kept dreaming about me, about her parents, about their deaths. Of course Tammy denied everything and made up excuses for her dreams.” “We hung out after the concert; everyone liked her from the start. But Kathie wasn’t stupid; she knew something was going on. With the help of James and her other friends she started to solve the puzzle.” “We helped her escape!” “We are where really badass rock stars.” Jinxx laughed, “Yeah. We were a family.” Andy started at the cig in his hand, “Everything was great, but they just had to come and take her away from me again.” Blu stared at the floor. “Maybe this has to do with the curse.” CC looked at her confused. “We thought it was just a stupid story. But when we were little Kathie and I heard our parents talking about a curse. Something about our great grandma making a witch mad. That witch put a curse on our family it’s supposed to pass down from generation to generation. They say it will only be lifted if the witch or someone from her family forgives us.” Jake let out a soft whistle, “Wow that sure is something.”
