The calm on the horizon
I can explain
Ashley's POV
I slowly open my eyes and shudder remembering what happened last night. Britni's arms are still wrapped tightly around me and I'm nessled into her chest. I'm so sore, my whole body hurts. "Ash? You up?" Britni whispers and I kiss her lightly. "I-I'm sore..." I say quietly and she nods in understanding. "I know babe, I know. You will be sore for a couple days, if only I had ran faster." She blames herself. It wasn't her fault that man was a fag. "It w-wasn't yo-your f-fault." I stutter and she kisses my nose. "I'm sorry for leaving Ashley, I really am. But I had a duty to the government that I had to do. I was an assassin, I'm soooo sorry for not telling you but you can't really work that into a conversation." She says nervously. I scoot away so I can look at her better and giving her a small smile. "That's really c-cool." I say and she pulls me back to her. "I'm never letting go of you Ashley. Never," she sighs and kisses me again. "So t-there wa-was no-thing wrong with m-me?" I stutter shyly and she shakes her head, eyes glancing over my scars. "No Ashley there never was. But I promise I'll get you through this." She whispers kissing my arms. My eyes water and I sigh.
