A New Beginning
Chapter 25
OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD. My hands are practically filling up my room with water they're so sweaty. Why in the hell am I so nervous!? I wasn't this nervous when me and Ashley were going at it. I spray on a bunch more of my Play It Lovely perfume by Play Boy. I check my make up for the thousandth time, then head down stairs.
My mom went out with some friends for one of their birthdays, so I'm alone in the house. I told her me and a friend were going to see a movie tonight, so it's all fine with her. Now I'm just waiting. I check my phone again for the time, two minutes till seven. Oh man, maybe we should have done a group date thing. Nah, that sounds dumb. I just want it to be me and him. I DON'T KNOW! I hate this dating thing so far. Well, it's way better than marriage. Marriage totally just tears people apart in my opinion. I made this thing up in my head called a "forever crush" that I'll explain later.
I hear the door bell ring. I take a deep breath and jump up and down a few times to get my jitters out. I open the door to see Ben. "Hey, ready Kara?" I nod with a big smile on my face. "Yep, so what movie do
you wanna see?" He shrugged, "Any movie you want to."
Ben and me get in his shiny, new smelling, red truck. "Wanna invite anyone else to join?" He asks me. "Um, no just me and you is great." He turns the key and the engine comes to life. "You sure? I was thinking of inviting Andy Biersack from class if that's okay with y-" I cut him off. "NOOO! Don't invite him! Just you and me!" He gets a shocked look on his face. "O-okay then..."
I don't want Andy to know I'm going on a date with Ben. And, I want to try NORMAL dating. For God's sake I'm sixteen! I just don't know how to drive yet, because I'm a big fat chicken. I'm just scared of old people on the road. They're crazy drivers and I know I'd get hit by one with my luck.
We're halfway there when I pipe up. "So how has your day been?" Ben smiles and glances at me. "Peachy, what about you dear?" Dear!? Aw, he called me dear! "Oh it went okay, some creep gave me his number at the library though." He turns to me. "What? Tell me more." I laugh at his puzzled face. "Okay, so I was all minding my business in the public library picking out some books with my grandma. While she's in the bathroom I see this guy pass the isle I'm in twice. Then out of the blue he hands me a piece of paper. I'm like, what is this? And he's like, my number. And he said something else but I couldn't hear him, then took off. I was totally flustered."
I see Ben chuckling out of the corner of my eye. "Well you are quite the cutie." Awwww! That was so sweet of him to say! "Aw! Thank you!" I can feel my hands sweating as we pulling the movie theaters parking lot. I see the bright lights lighting up the outside of the theater. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun night...
