A New Beginning
Chapter 20
I've checked the lock a thousand times to see if he really did lock it, but of course he did. Brad is a cold hearted person who will get what he deserves eventually. I shove my face into my hands and start to sob again. I'm so embarrassed, WHAT DID I EVER DO TO HIM! I punch my fist hard into the metal locker door. I'm so angry right now it doesn't even faze me.
I hear someone's fast foot steps coming closer. Just another student probably. I didn't text anyone yet to get me out, so I don't think it would be help. All of a sudden the shoes stop near the locker I'm in. "Kara, are you in one of these?" It's an unfamiliar voice to me. Who the hell is this? I'm so puzzled right now. Maybe someone over heard Brad boasting. Brad's known very well for boasting about EVERYTHING. But, if it was just anyone, then how are they going to get me out if they don't know the combination, or have one of those cutter thingymabobs? "Who are you?" Now the person's in front of the locker I'm in. "I'll tell you once I get you out of there."
I hear a few clicks and then the locker door swings open. I see am unfamiliar face. A boy with blue eyes and brown hair. I'm so confused..."How did you know I was in here, and how did you know the combination?" He grabbed my hand and helped me out of the locker. "I'm, well was, Brad's friend. When I heard he locked you in here I decided that was it. I'm tired of him doing these things to you. I know we don't really know each other, but still. I hate bullying. Um, my names Ben." He stuck his hand out. I took it and shook. "Nice to meet you Ben. Thank you so much for getting me out of there, truly."
Ben smiled and nodded. "No problem Kara, I'll see you in class." He blushed and walked away. I smile to myself, I guess someone cared about me, and I didn't even know it. Wow, that makes me feel good. To bad I didn't get a chance to hug him or something. I check my phone's clock. I have to hurry to my next class. I share it with Andy. I'm on the third floor now and it's on the first so I got to go quickly. I guess some strangers do care...
