Chapter 10 ~ So close but so far
~Jinxx's POV~
The atmosphere on was tense on the bus, which made me tense. When I entered the bus I was greeted by a happy CC who clapped me on the shoulder.
"Here he is!"
"Here I am" I repeated awkwardly. Truth was I was terrified of the next part, up ahead. I could see the living area, where we had threw our notes and coats on the sofa but beyond that were the chairs and I couldn't see clearly who was sat where. I could see Andy, Ashley and Jake because touring with them you learn the faces and the backs of heads. Everyone was seated but Andy I put that down to his "I don't want to keep still" mood he occasionally gets.
"What's going on guys?" I asked wearily as I joined them. Andy looked unsettled closer up, his eyebrows were knitted together.
"Nothing dude" Ashley replied looking up from his phone.
"We met our guest" Jake announced, editing something on his mac
"ALLIE!" CC beamed "She thinks we kidnapped her"
Shit! I thought. So it was her... As thoughts rushed through my mind all I could manage to say was "Where is she?" which made Andy look up, sigh and leave the room.
~Allie's POV~
The next day I woke up too warm. These bunks contained so much heat, mainly because you were locked in by a curtain and had a body above you and underneath you. However it wasn't just the temperature, that woke me. It was my stomach, I hadn't eaten in a day or two. I was ignoring my injuries, they weren't worth the worry or the bother; When you have a job like mine or you've been homeless you've been prone to worse. Either way, I decided to find some food and slid out of my bunk quietly. When I got to the stairs I looked back at the bunks, wondering which one Jinxx would be in, this made my stomach rumble worse.
Downstairs I seen someone ahead, I thought it might be the driver, rubbing my eyes I began to approach him. "Excuse me?" I tapped him on the shoulder, I was terrified it might be Jinxx who turns round and flinched after I did tap him. When he turned round it turned out to be Jake.
"Hey! Morning he greeted, with a smile. His hair was ruffled and sticking out in different directions (bed head). Clearly Jake had only just woke up too or had been up a while.
"Oh sorry... Jake?" I rubbed my eyes creating galaxy behind my eyelids "I'm terrible with names, sorry" I confessed.
"Don't worry" He gestured to the booth we met at last night. "Sleep well?" he asked.
"Too hot and too hungry" I moaned before sitting down. Jake seemed the quiet type but sweet and chilled out. "How about you?"
"I have insomnia" he nodded "if you want food I can check what we have on the bus" He finished and shuffled out of the booth before I could answer. Jake was tall, not as tall as Andy with his gazelle legs but still fairly tall. He too had long black hair that sat an inch or two below his also toned shoulders.
"Thank you" I said softly, unsure if he could even hear me.
I let my eyes drift around the living area, it was still a bit untidy. Further down from the booth was a sofa, that was the untidy bit I'd encountered. Guitars, laptops, wires, papers and drawings of the band. There wasn't much to the tour bus just messy, simple up and down.
Jake came back holding two cups and some paper bags. He smiled before sitting back down and began to talk me through what we had.
"The driver had been out and got everyone coffee and some breakfast" He pondered "We have coffee, tea, toast and a bacon butty... I think that's what you call it here!
"Thank you Jake" I smiled, tearing my eyes from the window. "Did we move?" I gestured at the window and different view, feeling a little unease in my stomach.
"No, we will be today though" he said carefully. "Help yourself by the way"
"If its ok with you, could I have the tea and bacon butty?" I asked shyly.
"Sure, I was hoping for the tea" he grinned handing me my breakfast.
Jake and I sat talking for a bit after that.
I wasn't sure if I would go home today or next week. Truth was I was starting to feel at home here, my only worry was Jinxx. I began to eat my bacon butty, the flavors erupted in my mouth, I didn't realize I was this hungry. The coffee was even better, I felt instantly awake. I was so thankful to Jake and the driver who Jake had introduced to me as Simon. Jake was now currently outside calling his girlfriend who lived in the UK, Ella.
I'd enjoyed this morning, it had been fun getting to know Jake. I'd felt a little safer, I knew this calm atmosphere wouldn't last though, soon Jinxx would wake up and things would turn sour again. Dramatic even, like a bad romance movie.
~Andy's POV~
Andy felt something was wrong. He knew, but he didn't know what. As soon as he'd mentioned Jinxx, Allie had gone sitff like she was going to go into another panic attack. Something was between those two, why else would Jinxx bring a random girl onto the bus then run off for a few hours? Why would Allie go to bed as soon as Jinxx came back to the bus? These were the things Andy contimplated whilst he started at the bunk above him with Juliet in his arms. He felt protective of Allie now. He would get to the bottom of this, maybe he could even fix it.
