Remembering Yesterday

Zoey looked at herself in the mirror grinning like a fool. “Today’s the day.” She looked at her cheerleading bag and let out a soft sigh. She hoped today would go as planned. She grabbed her bag and ran downstairs. “I’m leaving.” Her mom walked out of the kitchen frowning, “Aren’t you at least going to eat?” “No.” “Can’t we please talk about this?” “There’s nothing to talk about I’m leaving.” Zoey opened the door but stopped as her mom grabbed her arm. “I want you home as soon as school ends. No random stops got that?” Zoey pulled her arm away. “Sorry, prep rally is today, and you know I’m on the cheerleading team.” “Well I’m afraid you won’t be able to go. I want you home as soon as possible.” “No.” “What?” “I said no! You’ve already ruined my dream to see my favorite band; do you want to ruin my dream as a cheerleader?” Her mom let out a soft sigh, “Fine, but I want you home as soon as the game is over.” “Whatever.” Zoey ran out of her house ignoring her mom’s frantic shouts.


Zoey looked at James as he stood guard outside of an empty classroom. “Thanks for helping me out Jamie.” “With what, you’re crazy plan to make Nick and Allison pay, or your even crazier plan to go to the concert?” “Both.” He grinned and looked around the hallway. “No problem, you know I’m going to always be here for you.” She nodded and stared undressing. “How did your date with Casey go?” “It was great! We had a lot of fun. Did you kiss her?” Zoey watched as James cheek’s turned pink. “Yeah, but well I didn’t really kiss her…” “What do you mean, did she kiss you then?” James shook his head, “It was an accident. I leaned down to kiss her cheek and she did too and well you know.” Zoey busted out laughing as she put her shoes on. “That’s so cute.” James moved around uncomfortable, “Are you ready yet?” Zoey grinned, “How hot do I look?” James turned around and grinned, “You look gorgeous! And I really love that side ponytail thing, but isn’t that skirt a bit to short?” Zoey rolled her eyes and giggled, “It’s always been this short.” James frowned, “You do have shorts underneath that right?” Zoey rolled her eyes as she walked out of the room. “Let’s go.” “Zoey!” “Of course I do James. I’m not a slut ya know.”


Alex did a cartwheel as she other girls followed her into the gym. She jumped up and down raising her hands trying to get the crowd to cheer. She started to dance to the rhythm of Cobra Starship’s song, you make me feel. She watched as Zoey walked into the gym wearing a huge hoodie that covered her uniform. She nodded at the girls who started making a pyramid. She watched as Allison got on top and tried to keep her balance. She smiled as she saw some of her friends talking about how Zoey was missing. Soon the crowd was chanting Zoey’s name. Allison tried to concentrate as the crowd starting calling Zoey’s name. She fell on the ground hard. She stood up furiously as the crowd started laughing. Just then the basketball team ran out into the gym. James who the hoodie Zoey was wearing ran into the gym dropping some sort of liquid on the floor. Nick who was the star of the basketball team led the rest of the boys around the gym dribbling a basketball. He slipped knocking Allison down.


Allison screamed as she felt something sticky all over her. She looked at the white substance on her outfit and screamed again. Nick stared in disgust, as he tried to get up. He fell again pulling Allison with him, causing her uniform to break and show her bra. One of the boys in the crowd stood up and pointed at Allison’s bra. “Gee Allison, now we all know why you absorb things so meanly, you stuff your bra!” The crowd started laughing and Allison slapped Nick causing him to fall on his face. Zoey ran out from the crowd and the song Inna, more than friends started playing. She dance and pointed at the girls who made a pyramid Alex climbing to the top. The crowd started clapping and dancing. James ran into the gym and did a back flip. The crowd went wild and started chanting James’ name. James started dancing with Zoey and then picked her up throwing her in the air. She did the splits in the air and James caught her as she started to fall. Zoey started chanting the school’s name and the crowd soon joined her. She saw her mom from the corner of her eyes. Mrs. Parker smiled as she walked out of the gym. She had a very obedient daughter.


Zoey ran out of the gym and into the hallway breathing heavily. James ran out of the hallway in front of her carrying her bag. “Are you ready?” She nodded as they ran into the parking lot and into James’ car. “Did you see my mom?” “Yeah, I don’t think she’ll be back anytime soon.” “Good. How long until the concert starts?” “We have an hour and a half.” She nodded as she closed the car’s door and untied her pony tail. They arrived at James’ house ten minutes later. “Hi Mrs. Anderson,” Zoey said as she ran to James’ room. She quickly started to undress and James ran in a few seconds later changing clothes. Zoey walked to the bathroom and started to do her makeup, she teased her hair and fixed her clothes. She wore a cropped Black Veil Brides shirt she had made herself, along with a jet black skirt with a skull on the side and a belt that went up to her almost her thighs, under her skirt where ripped black leggings. She wore a Black Veil Brides necklace James had bought for her, and skull earrings. She looked at herself in the mirror and grinned the black makeup really made her blue eyes pop. She looked at James who walked into the bathroom wearing jet black skinny jeans with a Black Veil Brides chain that he had made, along with a Black Veil Brides shirt he had bought at hot topic. “You look adorable!” “Thanks, ca-can you do my makeup?” Zoey nodded as she sharpened her eyeliner pencil and started doing James’ makeup.
