Bullets in a Music Box

Home Studio?

Sunlight shined in through the dusty windows of the guest room. The guest room which has sat empty since Andy and I got together. The room itself was a relatively large room with a beautifully large window on two of the walls. It was a corner room and I love it with every part of me. I crossed my arms and sighed. Since we are obviously not going to use it for a bedroom, we should turn it into a mini home studio. A big smile spread across my face and I turned around to go tell Andy. But as I turned around and began to walk forward, I ran right into his chest.

“Andy!” I whined and he laughed.

“What?” He laughed.

“You are supposed to be downstairs so I can make this big dramatic entrance for this great idea I have,” I pouted and he wrapped his arms around me shoulders.

“I was coming out here to ask you why you’ve been standing in front of this doorway for like ten minutes, staring,” he said.

“Well, that’s why I was gonna make a big entrance for my idea,” I pouted again and he chuckled.

“What’s your big idea?” He cocked his head to the side and looked me in the eyes.

“Well. Since we aren’t using this room for diddly shit, I think we should turn it into a mini home studio thing,” I put my arms up on his shoulders and he thought for a second or two.

“Now would it be a shared home studio thing or a Sadee’s home studio thing?” He asked and I looked up at him.

“Well, we would both use it, but I may live in there most of the time,” I shrugged and he chuckled while rolling his eyes.

“Fine, but we’re gonna have to find where to put all this shit,” he said and I dropped my shoulders.

“Well the basement is pretty empty,” I suggested and he laughed.

“It is very empty,” he laughed and then looked at me. “Why don’t we put the home studio thing in the basement? You know, the place that has an empty room.”

“But the basement is like all the way downstairs, and what if in the middle of the night, I get this inspiration for a song? I don’t wanna have to walk down two damn flights of stairs to write a song,” I said and he chuckled again.

“You’re so lazy,” he laughed and I smacked his chest.

“Says the man who would rather just fill an empty room then empty out this one,” I crossed my arms and he stared at me.

“Fine, let’s get to cleaning out the room,” he sighed and walked past me and into the room. I smiled and did a little dance in my spot before walking into the room. All that was really in the room was an almost bare bed, an empty dresser, a table that had my old lease stuff from my old apartment, and then it had a chest on the wall that had some of my personal stuff that I never took out of here.

“What is in this thing?” Andy kicked the chest and I gave him a look.

“Personal stuff from my childhood and teen years. I forgot to move it out of here,” I shrugged and then Andy sat down on the floor and opened it.

“What are you doing?” I asked and he looked at me.

“We’re gonna look at the stuff. Maybe I’ll get a true picture of how your childhood was,” he smiled and reached into the chest and pulled out a stack of pictures. I sat down in front of him and he flipped through the pictures, a smile stuck on his face.

“You had one of those 90’s hair cuts,” he chuckled.

“Well, I was born in the 90s, so, yeah,” I said. He set the picture down and then held a picture up.

“What?” I asked.

“Is this your dad?” He asked as he handed me the picture. When I saw it a small smile grew on my face. It was of me and Lauren, before she left for Germany, and our dad. We had gone to the lake house our dad owned and we had gone swimming. My dad’s mom took the picture. After that trip was when my life went to shit.

“I’m guessing it was a good memory?” He asked. I looked up at him with just my eyes and nodded.

“It was the last picture I got with my dad before life took a turn for the worse,” I said and he nodded.

“You’re dad looked intimidating,” he said.

“He was. But he also the world biggest teddy bear. Just like you,” I smirked and he gave me a look.

“I am not a teddy bear. I am a rockstar,” he laughed and I rolled my eyes.

“Oh my god, that one is my freshman school picture. Ew, ew, ew. My mom permed my hair,” I hid my face as Andy looked at the picture and laughed.

“Oh come on, you looked adorable,” he chuckled.

“Yeah, no. I looked like a mess, because it represented my life at that moment,” I said and he chuckled.

“What’s this?” He grabbed a small red box from the chest and I looked at it for a second before getting emotional. It was a red velvet box that held my dad’s favorite necklace, one that I picked out for him when I was six.

“Sadee?” I heard Andy ask and I looked at him.

“Yeah?” I asked quietly and he set the box down and shifted over to me.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“I’m fine, it’s just. That’s the necklace I got my dad when I was six. It was his favorite,” I wiped a tear away and he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his chest. I wrapped my arms around him and sighed into him, his scent engulfing me.

“If we ever have kids, I hope that I can be like your dad, because he sounds like a damn great person,” I heard Andy mutter into my hair. Wait, did he just say, ‘if we ever have kids?’ I kept holding onto Andy and he rubbed my back. When we let go of each other, I was more relaxed and he looked at me.

“We should put this chest in our room,” he said and I nodded. Andy got to putting the things back inside, except he kept the red box out. I watched him as he closed the chest and then picked it up and walked out of the room with it. I grabbed the red box off the floor and opened it. The necklace fell out of the box and I held it in my hand. It was this small little thing, something I got at the zoo in Nashville of a Peacock, but my dad loved it. I sighed and put it back into the box and then set it on the table. Andy walked back into the room and he gave me a look.

“What?” I asked.

“Why are you just sitting there?” He asked.

“I haven’t quite found the motivation to get on my feet,” I shrugged and he rolled his eyes.

“Well, come on, you’re the one who wants to turn this room into a home studio, we have to clean it out to do that,” he said. I groaned and stood. Andy went to clean off the bed and I went to clean off the table.

When we finished cleaning off the furniture, we had to take the stuff downstairs. And I am not the worlds strongest person so therefore, I wasn’t much help. Andy pulled the table and the dresser out of the room and downstairs before I got the mattress and box spring off the bed.

“Now you are making me feel really weak right now,” I pouted and he looked at me.

“The table and the dresser weren’t that heavy. And considering the dresser was empty and wasn’t heavy to begin with, it’s fine. Now, you’re gonna help me with the mattress and box spring, cause that shit is heavy for one person,” he said. I rolled my eyes and we got to grabbing the mattress, which was heavy. As we got it out of the room and partially down the stairs, my arm began to argue.

“Why am I so weak?” I whined and heard Andy chuckle.

“Cause, if you were overly strong, my masculinity would be questioned,” he said. I laughed and when we finally got the mattress down into the basement, I laid down on it and sighed.

“I am so tired now,” I whined and Andy looked down at me.

“We have just the box spring left, and the bed frame, but that can be taken apart,” he said.

“Fine,” I pouted and held my hand up. Andy grabbed it and pulled me up off the mattress and into his chest. I leaned up and gave him a kiss before walking upstairs and into the guest room. The room looked so much emptier now. Only the box spring and bed frame were in there. I began to take apart the bed frame and when Andy walked into the room, I had it almost apart.

“You can get the box spring, I’ll get this,” I smiled and he smirked before grabbing the box spring and leaving the room. When I got the bed frame apart, I began taking the pieces downstairs.

Once the room was empty, I laid in the middle of the floor on my back and stared at the ceiling.

“Tired?” I heard Andy ask and I nodded.

“Who knew cleaning a room out would be so tiring,” I sighed and he chuckled.

“Well, we should probably figure out what we want the room to look like,” he sighed and sat down on the floor next to me.

“Probably. You know, I had that great idea, but now that the room is empty, I don’t wanna fill it,” I sighed and he chuckled again.

“We are not leaving this room empty. But we can for now. We should go and get food and then be completely and utterly lazy tonight,” he suggested and I nodded.

“That sounds like an amazing plan,” I said. Today was fun, spending quality time with Andy, showing him some stuff from my chest, it really felt nice and relaxing. Now hopefully Tyler let’s us have a few more weeks of this before he makes me record stuff.

Notes

And another chapter!! I am sorry, like I always am, that there was a long wait. I wasn't in the best of places the last few days, lots of crap going on in my personal life that prevented me from writing happy chapters. But I am in a good mood now so here you go. I was originally gonna have Sadee, Andy, CC, and Zara go to the beach for the day and then have Sadee and Andy go to dinner, but then I wanted to show just Andy and Sadee, so this gem came about. Not quite the best, but it works. Next chapter will be Andy and Sadee going to dinner, all cute and stuff!

Question Time: No specific questions except for what Andy and Sadee should do while on their off time.
