Dark Magick

Fourteen

Eighteen months later…

Ash grinned so wide his cheeks hurt as he watched his twin daughters toddle around the living room, seemingly chasing each other and playing with their toys. Legacy, his older daughter, was definitely the more dominant twin, as she was more outgoing than her sister. Magick was a bit on the shy side, which was perfectly fine since he tended to be a bit shy himself around people he didn’t know very well.

The bassist sighed as they plopped themselves down a couple feet away to play with a dollhouse they’d gotten for their first Christmas. While they loved spending time with their mama, and driving him nuts with the beginnings of rudimentary magick they’d inherited from their daddy, they were very close to one another. He loved that they were so close that they refused to sleep in separate cribs, rather than being a pair of sisters who were forever at each others’ throats.

While they were playing with the little dolls they’d gotten to go with the dollhouse, he sat back and watched. He’d been playing his bass earlier that morning, so his fingers were a bit sore, not that he ever played while they were awake, anyway. It was while he was watching them giggle and grin that his lover came and knelt in the floor at his feet.

“Mmmm?” he hummed. His voice was still a bit higher pitched than he’d been accustomed to before since he was still a woman.

“Can’t I sit here in the floor to watch the girls play?” Andy asked.

“The devious twinkle in your eye gives you away, love,” the bassist chuckled, his own eyes beginning to sparkle.

“It was supposed to be an excited twinkle, not devious!” his lover defended himself, pouting a bit. He looked so cute as he did right now, which entailed letting down his spell so he appeared as Nature intended him to, pointed ears and all.

“Oh, really?” Ash asked, now a bit curious.

“Well, I was thinking that, since you’re not nursing anymore…” he trailed off.

He felt his eyes widen as he gasped. If he was thinking what he thought he was, it was definitely something he felt like he’d been waiting his entire life for.

“If you wanna, I was thinking it was time to reverse the spell,” Andy continued. “If you’d rather stay like this, either temporarily or permanently, that’s up to you.”

“Are you kidding me?” he asked. “I’ve been a woman for over two years! I mean, don’t get me wrong; it’s caused some of the best things that’ve ever happened to me, but I’m ready to be a man again…I have been for a long time.”

“Let’s at least wait till the girls are down for their nap,” the frontman suggested. “They’ll still know who you are to them since they know your energy signature, but it’ll be a big enough of a shock that way.”

“Sounds good to me,” Ash agreed, grinning before leaning down for a kiss.

Considering how tall his lover was, even when he was on his knees, he didn’t have to lean down very far for the kiss he sought. Even after he was returned to his natural state as a man, he knew deep down that he wasn’t going to leave Andy high and dry. With or without their precious daughters, they’d grown even closer than they had been before, as well as gotten to know a side of one another they didn’t know existed before.

He loved the younger man with every fiber of his being, and not just in a brotherly sense. It was something he’d never seen coming, but then again, he hadn’t seen any of this coming back when he first cast this spell. While he’d only meant to get him to stop bitching about pointless things, he’d ultimately opened the door to something far better for him.

Not long afterward, Legacy and Magick slowly levered themselves to their tiny little feet, then slowly toddled over to him. By the time they reached him, they were all but asleep on their feet, so it wasn’t surprising when they stood by his legs and used his knees as very hard and bony pillows. Unable to resist the cute sight, Ash quickly picked them up so they were cuddled up to not only each other, but to him, as well. They sighed softly as they nuzzled his cleavage, something he’d finally gotten used to having. The natural softness, which wouldn’t be there for much longer, and his heartbeat quickly lulled them to sleep.

When they were completely asleep, Andy gently took Legacy from his lap and cradled her to his chest. Like she’d done ever since the night they were born, she nuzzled the area next to his nipple in her sleep, which drew a smile from her daddy. Once she was cradled tightly, he reached down with his free hand to help pull his sweetheart up, earning him a silent smile of thanks. As quietly as they could, they made their way up to the nursery and gently deposited the girls in their shared crib.

“Sleep well, my baby girls,” the bassist said softly, bending over the rail to kiss their chubby cheeks.

His lover took his turn after he stepped back, grinning as he used his magick to raise the rail so they were safe and pull their blanket over them.

“You show-off,” Ash chuckled softly, shaking his head as he headed to the master bedroom.

“Eh, not as bad as I could be,” his lover chuckled, following quietly behind him. “So I’m guessing you wanna lay on our bed for this?”

Our bed. It was a phrase he’d never expected to hear come from the younger man’s mouth when they met several years ago, but it warmed his heart as he nodded now.

“All right. Stretch out and get as comfy as you can, Ashie.” He smiled and sat next to his hip. “I’m not sure, so I’m not trying to scare you, but it might hurt a bit since you’re awake this time.”

“Lemme take my jeans off,” Ash said, quickly sitting up. “Something tells me womens’ jeans have tighter crotches than mens’ jeans.”

“I’d say that’s probably a pretty safe assumption,” the front man chuckled.

Thankfully, he’d chosen to wear boxer-briefs today, so he at least had on underwear that would keep him covered once the change was made.

“Whenever you’re ready, I’ll start,” Andy told him, taking the jeans they doubted he’d ever need again.

“I’m ready. Like I said, I have been for a long time,” the bassist said, nodding.

Returning the nod, his lover laid the denim aside after taking his time folding it, which gave him time to make himself comfortable again. Considering that he’d been asleep when the original spell was cast, he hadn’t felt anything painful when he was turned into a woman. If Ash’d felt anything even remotely painful during the change, he likely would’ve woken up whimpering at the least, screaming at the worst.

After taking a few deeps breaths to compose himself, he nodded at his lover to let him know that he was ready. With a loving gleam in his eye, Andy gently squeezed his hand as he returned the nod. Having that bit of reassurance helped calm him so that he didn’t stiffen up, which could easily make things worse if the reversal was painful.

The young frontman looked him in the eye, his icy-blue eyes glowing an ethereal shade that he’d never seen before as he began chanting in Gaelic. At first, the bassist didn’t really feel anything, and it almost made him wonder if the spell reversal was even working. Just when he was on the verge of letting out a depressed sigh, resigned to living the rest of his life as Ashlynn Aspen Purdy because he was unable to return to his natural state as a man, he began to feel a bit odd. It was as if his lover’s magick was delaying the change slightly to reprimand him for not having stronger faith in it.

He felt his shoulders widening while his hips began to taper, although they still seemed a bit curvy. Then again, he’d always been told that he seemed to have pretty curvy hips for a man, so he wasn’t too worried about that. Ash felt his entire body grow leaner, although it wasn’t quite as lean as it’d once been, which included a reduction in his breasts so that he was lucky to fill an A-cup. He supposed those were just a few leftovers from having once carried his girls, but he didn’t mind in the least.

“You okay, love?” Andy asked, eyeing him carefully a short time later.

“Yeah, I’m—” He trailed off, his eyes crossing as he looked down at his mouth, which he covered with both hands.

“I’m not used to your voice sounding like that anymore, either,” his lover said, laughing at his shocked expression.

“It’s gonna take some getting used to again,” the bassist agreed, clearing his throat. “I haven’t heard this version of my own voice in so long, it almost seems like it’s not mine.”

“The last time either of us heard this version was that last night on Warped 2011 before I turned you into a woman to begin with,” the frontman chuckled. “Course, now it stands for me to wonder…are you gonna still be able to hit those really high notes you hit while we were recording Wretched and Divine?”

“I honestly don’t know,” Ash laughed. “Doesn’t mean I’m not gonna try, though.”

“That’s the spirit, Ashie!” the younger man cheered, grinning at him. “I just hope you don’t hurt your throat or blow your voice.”

“If I feel like I’m gonna do that in our practice sessions, I’ll let y’all know and try lowering the notes a bit,” he promised. “There’s no way I’m gonna give in or back down without at least trying first.”

Andy quickly leaned in and cupped his face in his hands, a loving look once again in his eyes. The bassist couldn’t resist leaning up so he could wrap his arms around his neck, his head automatically tilting slightly to the side. Only moments later, their lips were gently connected in one of the few chaste kisses they were known to share.

Neither of them really knew where life would take them from here, but they were in the journey together. Even if they merely returned to being best friends as they’d been before, they’d always band together to raise their daughters. However, they doubted they were going to make a romantic split, as they were far too happy together, regardless of whether one or both of them were female or not. Unless they honestly thought an amicable split would be better for everyone, they couldn’t see themselves returning to how the past had been.

It’d taken a bit of magick coupled with a devious plan, and even a few things neither had ever planned on, but they were happier than ever. Andy and Ash had each other, and because of one fateful night on a wild and crazy tour, they had the beautiful daughters they’d lay down their lives for. No, things would never be the same, but the love they had for each other, Legacy, and Magick could help them appreciate the good and weather the bad.

Notes

That's a wrap on this story, too, my little Cynners! I'm contemplating a sequel, but haven't really had any good ideas for one as of yet. I've had other stories that I've been writing, if I felt like writing at all.

I'll let y'all know when I start posting, if I decide to write a sequel. Till then, just enjoy my other works.

Thanks, sugar. I'll prolly eventually start updating again, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon, unfortunately. As depressed as I am because of what's happened, being too depressed to write is depressing, in and of itself. *sighs*

Completely understandable hun. You need to do you, and be with your family. I hope there is a point and time you do come back to writing. Your stories are amazing. And if you ever need anyone to talk to, just message me. We may not know each other but I'm always here. :)
