~Stars Can't Shine Without Darkness~

Explanations

Star's P.O.V.~

I ran a brush through my blonde hair and slipped on a pair of white, ripped leggings and a Sleeping with Sirens band shirt with my black converse. After brushing my teeth and kissing Andy goodbye, Violet and so were on our way off at school.

"I'm just saying, I can't believe your trusting Anthony enough to go with him somewhere alone." "I know, Me either. Andy was pissed, but I told him I'll call of anything happens. I don't have a choice Violet. This may be my only chance to get him out of my life. For good." I finished as we pulled into the parking lot. "I know, just be careful, okay?" I nodded and followed her up to the school. I go straight to my locker to avoid any chance of seeing Brittany and succeed after stepping into my first few classes.

Anthony takes his normal seat, beside me, and stays silent for the whole class. The bell rings after what seems like hours of lectures and he turns to me before walking out the door. "I hope you haven't forgotten our plans tonight." I shook my head. "I haven't." He nodded and smiled softly. I curled my eyebrows and shook it off. Something different had happened...and I don't understand it. Lunch quickly came and went after a short scene of Brittany slamming her tray into me. I fled the scene and dodged the attention of laughter flood the cafeteria as I jogged over to Violet's locker and searched for a new shirt.

My choices were a sweaty gym shirt, a crop top, or a tight black tank top. I walked to the bathroom and stripped from my spaghetti stained band shirt and pulled the tank top over my shoulders. I fixed my hair in the mirror and shoved the shirt in a plastic bag and put it gently in Violets locker.

.......school ends.......

I walk into the parking lot to see Anthony's black convertible with the hood down drive up along me. He tips his shades down enough to see me and motions for me to get in. I let out a deep breathe and open the car door, sucking in that jolted feeling in my stomach when I feel uncomfortable. The seats are chilled with the built in air conditioner as the winds blows through my hair.

"Where are we going?" I ask, breaking the silence. He keeps his eyes on the road before replying. "Sunshine Smoothies?" I shrug and watch the colors of greens and blues flash from my eyes from the speed of the car. He stops the car and we both get out slowly. I can feel the tension, he doesn't know what to do and honestly, I didn't either. I follow him to the front entrance as he holds the door open for me. "Thank you" he nods and walks me to a booth.

"What can I assist ya'll with today?" A girl asks with a plastered smile. "A white chocolate, peanut butter smoothie for me please." I smile gently. "A coffee please." Anthony says emotionless, chewing on his bottom lip. She leaves us after taking our orders and strides off to another costumer. "Why are you doing this, Anthony?" I finally spit out, folding my hands together. He swipes his sunglasses from his face and tucks them onto his shirt. "Well, I understand I can be a little....demanding when I don't get what I want. I shouldn't of treated you like that. And even if you never wanna see me again, I was just hoping for a little forgiveness and possibly, sometime in the future, a friendship." I nearly choked on my breathe. "And you serious? About all of this?" He nodded, "absolutely. No more games." I nodded slowly.

"Here you go, one white choc. Peanut butter smoothie and one coffee. Can I get anything else for you?" We shook our heads as I sucked on the straw. "Why now? Why didn't you treat me like this in the beginning?" He looked down at his coffee cup with thought and softly shrugged. "Oh come on. You don't do that to someone and not have a reason." He closed his eyes and opens them again.

"I've always known you wouldn't ever go for someone like me. I've seen you in the halls in freshman year and see you in awe over that Andy guy. You'd look at him like he was either the one who put the stars in the sky, or the ones who stole them from the moon. I've always admired your beauty. I guess I just wanted you so much to myself, I tried to get to everyone else before you. You kept denying and with each rejection, I just got so frustrated. I got lost with the drinking and the drugs. It made me meaner, more aggressive." I stared at him in surprise, speechless on what to say. "So what do you say? Friends?" I shook out of my thoughts and looked at his eyes. They looked sincere. "I...I don't know what you expect me to say." "Just say whatever you feel." after minutes passing, he took his first sip of his coffee after stirring creamer into the mug. "A lot of damage has been done....but I'm sure we could work on it?" I saw a flash of hope flicker in his dark eyes.

I couldn't believe I was actually agreeing.

"Wanna go to the park?" I nodded and threw my cup away. He left a tip and walked us out to his car. Kids and young teens were running and shouting around the sandpit so he dragged us over to the merry go round and instantly starting spinning. I squealed and clung onto the metal. He jumped on after it was at a fast speed and sat beside me. After it slowed, he ran over to the sprinklers. "What? Oh no no no!" He picked one up and sprayed me. I grabbed one as well and we turned it into our own battle. He laughed as he got my shirt soaked only to have get his pants wet, making it look like he had an 'accident'.

After our water war was over, we walked over to the swings and sat down. He sent me gentle smile and I offered one back. "Star?" I looked over to see Ronnie with a puzzled-angry expression. My stomach sunk in as Anthony shifted his gaze over to him. Ronnie stormed over and grabbed Anthony by his collar. "Haven't you been told to leave her alone?!" He boomed, nearly choking Him. "Ronnie!" I hollered, trying to pry his arms away. "How many warnings do you need kid?" Ronnie spat in his face.

Just as Ronnie was about to throw a punch, I jumped in front and put my arms up to block. Ronnie released Anthony and looked at me, dumbfounded. "What're you doing Star?" "Anthony's not bothering me. What're you doing here?" I asked, helping Anthony up. "What am I doing here? Obviously looking for you! You haven't been getting ahold of me and I was worried." "About what?" He rolled his eyes. "About you, obviously! What the hell happened to your neck?! Did Andrew do that?! I'll fucking kill him!" I stepped back. "Andrew would never hit me! You know that!" He gave me a disgusted look, snarling at realization that they weren't bruises. "So what now? Are you slutting up with Anthony like you did with me and Andrew?" He bit at while chuckling.

My heart stung at his words but I pushed it aside. "What is wron-are you drunk? You've been drinking again haven't you!" He smirked and shook his head. "I only had a few" "okay 3....5....I lost count after 6." He started laughing as Anthony watched him in amusement. "Come on baby, we're going home." Ronnie started to burn down the Barrier on how drunk he was as he let his words slur. "The hell I am! You know I don't like when your drunk." He pouted and softly grabbed my arm. "Come home Star. We miss you." He scowled as Anthony pulled my arm gently away from Ronnie. "Fuck off Fuckboy. She's mine." Ronnie growled. I rubbed my temples before looking back at Ronnie. "She doesn't want to go with you Ronald, go home and sober up." "Yeah? At least I'm not the one trying to get into her pants. Besides, even I've gotten closer to that than you have." He snickered. I gasped at his wording and pushed him away from me. "Ronnie I think you should go." Tears were softly building up. "Oh come on, I didn't mean it like that. I was just telling the truth. Admit it, if you hadn't thought about how you 'love' Andy, you would've let me fuck you." Before I could stop myself, I felt my right palm make connection with his cheek.

His head swung to the left and I saw his eyes turn the familiar dark brown when he's mad. I haven't seen him this angry since I last saw him before he came back. "You fucking bitch, what the hell?" All of a sudden, I heard Jacky's familiar accent calling Ronnie's name as he came panting with the others beside Ronnie. "Woah.....what happened?" I looked at my hand then back at Jacky. "You hit him? Why?" I shook my head as tears fell. "I..I...I don't know. He just...he was....why is he drinking?" Jacky shrugged his shoulders and pulled Ronnie's arm. "I don't know. But I need to get him home before he lets his anger get worse. Bye Star, love ya"

I turned to Anthony as he looked at me with sympathy. "You okay?" He asked. "I'm sorry. I didn't know he was drinking again and he only ever acts out when he's drunk ..." "Hey, it's okay. I expect that." He let his smile droop as we began walking to his car. "I had fun today, thank you for giving me a chance." I smiled and looked at him. "I did too."

I walked into the large house and ran to my bedroom to throw a dry shirt on and some baggy sweat pants. As I opened my door, I saw Andy sound asleep on my bed, curled into the comforter. After I pulled back the blankets, I climbed into bed and kissed his lips softly. "Goodnight Andrew. I love you so much." He responded by wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me towards his warm, shirtless body, nuzzling into my neck. I felt his heartbeat beat steadily against my ear as I lay my head on his exposed chest. "I love you."
