Numb

Chapter XIII

Courtney's POV:

my new high school was, in one word, huge. How the students managed to continuously maneuver in this chaotic labyrinth they call a school.

Emily briefly gave me a quick tour of the school while directing me to my new locker. She hastily introduced me to everyone we passed in the halls, and smiled brightly the entire time. I must say, the supposely dark exterior did not do this girl justice whatsoever. She was fun, bubbly, and very friendly.

In no time at all, we reached my locker, and Emily's. We made small talk regarding my past life, and my family. She had immediately recognized Ashley and Andy from Black Veil Brides, but had somehow managed to restrain herself from releasing her inner fangirling. However, since we were no longer near them, she gushed and giggled girlishly about the band and pestered me with questions.

I laughed at her extreme reaction and quickly realized we would make great friends. Emily did eventually manage to calm down herself, and led me to our shared enriched French class. Apparently we both were naturals with the European language.

Our French teacher, Mme. LeCôu smiled kindly at the two of us as we entered, a bright smile directed towards myself. I handed her a green form, explaining my situation and required for a signature from all of my teachers. She quickly signed it, and pointed me to a desk beside Emily on the left side of the room.

Swollowing hard, I rushed to my assigned seat with my head held high, while desperately evading the odd looks from my new classmates.

"Bonjour classe. Aujourd'hui, je vourdrais vous présenter in nouvel élève. Mademoiselle Courtney," Mme LeCôu signalled to me, and I offered a shaky wave and a small smile.

Good morning class. Today, I would like to introduce a new student. Miss Courtney

Aboy beside sitting behind me tapped me on the shoulder, and smiled nicely. "Hi there. I'm Ethan. I'm guessing you're Courtney?"

I giggled and nodded, "it's nice to meet you, Ethan."

Hw winked at me before I turned back to the lesson, when not even five minutes later, I felt bother tap on my shoulder. I turned to look at Ethan, but he simply paid no attention to me, only slipping a small piece of paper into his hand. I frowned and gearly unfolded it in my lap, revealing probably his phone number. I felt my face flush as I sent Ethan a small smile and a wink of my own.

After French class let out, Ethan hastily made it my side, helping me up and picking up some of my books. I smiled st him gratefully, and waited for Emily.

"So what class do you have next?" He asked, breaking the silence.

I began to fumble for timetable and map of the school. Swiftly pulling it out, i scanned over it a couple times. "Uh, English, I think?"

Ethan's face deflates slightly, but then immediately offers to walk me to my next class. I smile at him and let him down easy, saying that either Sasha or Jaime are in that class, and that I should try and figure out the maze that is my school is my own.

I walk away from him then, promising to meet him at lunch. Truthfully, he seemed really great: he was cute, and sweet, but I wanted to attempt to find my way around first. Sadly, the hallways were filled with rushing students, making getting to any class more or less impossible.

Even worse it seemed, I bumped into a tall figure, my binders and textbooks leaping from my careful arms into the floor. I blushed and averted my eyes, bending down go pick up my books.

"I'm so sorry," I uttered from my crouched position, and looked up at whoever I crashed into.

that was when I felt would be a good time to shut up. I just so happened to crash into a model. My mistake, a God.

He smiled at me flirtatiously, scooping up my books from my now slack arms and pulling me up with them.

"It's no problem all," he winked as he handed me my stuff.

"Um, er, I'm really sorr about that," I squeak out in annoyingly high pitched voice. I clear my throat and try again, "I'm Courtney."

He smiles that dashing smile again, "it's honestly no trouble. Accidents do happen. My name is Xavier, and you're in my English class." He stated, glancing at my schedule.

I felf my face flush even more, and he began to guide me to my next class.

Notes

So yeah, Courtney's getting a lot of attention. I'm jealous of that girl ;)

Hi, I love your fanfiction but I wanted to talk to you about your brother. My advice is don't waste your time hating him. Life is too short and relationships with your siblings are too important. Trust me.
