Numb

Chapter XII

Courtney's POV:

Here it was. My first day at my new school. Souls to be too bad, right?

oh who the fuck was I kidding, I was fucking nervous as hell. I mean, being new during the beginning of the year is acceptable, even tolerable, but bring the new kid not even halfway through the year was downright suicide.

I woke up earlier than I anticipated since I couldn't sleep due to nerves. I was up at 5:30am, and paced around my newly decorated room until 6am. That was when I finally decide to get ready. I was dressed and showered by 6:10am, I even had tamed my hair and applied my makeup by that time. And school didn't start until 8:30am. I was screwed.

So I cleaned my room and bathroom, made breakfast for myself and the guys (the guys stated over again since they wanted to see me off to school or some other bullshit like that) and cleaned up the kitchen by the time someone else awoke. At 7am.

Andy lazily walked into the kitchen, leaning against the wall as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. "Morning." He slurred.

Ah fuck, I forgot how incredibly sexy his morning voice was. I swallowed hard, gently placing my used plate into the dishwasher, before turning to face him with a smile.

"Morning yourself."

he grinned and sauntered over to me, "nervous?"

I laughed, "nope. Not like I'm starting school today. Oh, I forgot to mention that it's a new school too. Where I know nobody."

Andy chuckled, "you'll be fine. Probably make lots of new friends, just no boys. Or else you'll give Ash a heart attack and I'll lose my bassist."

I smiled a genuine smile, "thanks Andy," and I wrapped my thin arms around Andy's bare waist as he hugged me back.

That made me realize something, "Andy?"

"hmm?"

"Why do you hate wearing shirts so much?"

"Here we are, sis." Ash announced as he stopped in front if a massive building, the grounds filled with hundreds of teenagers making their way slowly into the building.

I gulped, and quickly scanned the eyes of my brother and his bandmates, whom over the short time of the weekend had become family to me. I exited the vehicle with the boys at my heels.

"You'll do fine C, just be yourself," Jinxx offered the use of my newly developed nickname.

I nodded, and hugged him, turning next to CC.

"Kick ass, mini C," CC laughed as he hugged me, "and if anyone messes with you, I'll gladly kick their ass."

I actually laughed at that before turning to Jake. "Be good, study, don't be late, and don't do pot,"

I laughed again. "Way to put those together in a sentence, Jakey."

"yeah, thanks Jake for adding that," Ashley glares at Jake who raises his hands in mock surrender.

I giggle at the two of them, and at my brothers protectiveness. I turn to Ashley next, "love ya, bro. Thanks for helping me with this," I burry my head into his shoulder.

Ashley tightens his arms around me, "you'll do great today. Just try not to attract too many boys, for my sake, sis."

I smile, and then face Andy, the only boy I want, but will never want me. Andy spreads his arms wide in an inviting gesture, and I gladly return his embrace. He gently strokes my hair, while muttering calming things to me, "just don't bring a guy home."

I take a deep breath as Andy and Ashley walk me to the main office where I'll get my class schedule and locker. I keep my head held high, and smile and make eye contact at every person I meet. First impressions are always a good way to start off a school year.

The school was huge, I easily could and probably would get lost. Hopefully, I would adjust quickly and make friends so I wouldn't get lost everyday.

Mrs. Kelsy, a greying, small, old women sits at the front administration desk. She smiles kindly at the three of us as we approach.

"Um, hi. I'm Courtney Purdy, a new student in grade twelve. I'm here for registration and my schedule." I say awkwardly, glancing at Ashley uncertainly.

Mrs. Kelsy smiles and types something in on the computer in front of her, "ah! Miss. Purdy, I believe you have just moved here?" I nod making her smile even bigger, "well then welcome to Los Angeles, and to Hilton-Dale High School!"

"Now, I need a parent of guardian's signature on a couple forms. And then I can assign you your locker and give you your class schedule," she glanced at Andy and Ashley with raised eyebrows, "are one of you her legal guardian?"

"I am," Ashley speaks up, stepping towards the desk so he can sign a the forms. "I'm her older brother."

She smiles once again, "lovely! Now here is your schedule dear, and I'll get... Hmm, oh Emily! Can you please take Courtney, here to the spare locker beside your own? Oh and could you, Miss Oaks and Miss DeCott show her around for the next couple of days? Thank you dear."

i glance at at the girl behind me, she's very pretty, and seems nice enough. She smiles brightly, her expression practically lighting up the room, and eagerly nods, "of course Mrs. Kelsy! Hi, I'm Emily!" She grabs my wrist and basically drags me from the office.

I scramble around to follow her, waving a hasty goodbye to Andy and Ashley.

Let the day begin.

Hi, I love your fanfiction but I wanted to talk to you about your brother. My advice is don't waste your time hating him. Life is too short and relationships with your siblings are too important. Trust me.
