Born To Lead

I made my way in the classroom and instantly noticed the round tables. Which I hated because of the fact that it forces you to interact with those around you. I walked near to the back of the room and noticed a girl all dressed in black with reddish orange and black hair. She seems like she would be nice, I sat next to her.
"Hey there! I loooove your hair!" I told her. It was true! It was literally half red and half black. It was awesome to see something so creative! She turned to smile at me.
"Thank you!" She said. "What's your name?"
"Isabelle," I said. "Yours?"
"Ashley" she held out her hand for me to take, which I did, and we shook hands, "nice to meet you!" She smiled. "You're new here, huh?"
"Yep." I responded.
"I love AFI by the way!" She said and I grinned.
"Me too!!" I said excitedly. She high fived me.
"I like you! You rock!" She said. We both laughed as we heard the final bell ring and class began. The teacher began her lesson but was interrupted by the door opening. I ignored who the person was and the lesson picked up from where the teacher left off.
Soon enough it was lunch time. Ashley had to go meet up with her boyfriend, which I was fine with, as I made our way into the cafeteria and I noticed CC who was waiting by the door with Jake and Jinxx. I want to avoid Jake and Jinxx since it appears I offended them by "stealing" one of their chairs earlier. I duck my head and try to blend into the crowd that was entering the. I somehow made it to the food line and was able to grab my food without being noticed. I sat down on the table and almost a minute later, CC joined me.
"Hey there!" He greeted with a smile. I faintly smiled.
"Hello." I said. I said glancing over to Jake and Jinxx who were still in the lunch line.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yes and no," I responded, "just a bit uncomfortable."
"Why?" He asked again.
"Because I have a feeling those two don't like me and I didn't do anything." I said.
"Who?" He said looking over to the direction I was looking at, "Jake and Jinxx?"
"Is it Jinxx or Jeremy?", I began, "by the way, which one is it? I heard jake call him Jinxx but he introduced himself as Jeremy." I asked. He shrugged.
"He goes by either." He said.
"Anyways," I continued, "he is meh, he seems to be super serious in band. I had him in music class and he was rude. Then Jake came along and asked me to move from my seat because I was sitting on his chair."
"Ehh I wouldn't think too much of it. They're really nice guys!" He said. Jake was the first to approach us with his food. I awkwardly shifted as he sat next to me.
"So Isabelle here, thinks you don't like her!" CC announced to Jake. My god I've never felt so embarrassed. Jake looked at me strangely.
"What? Why?" He asked me. I shrugged. "I just wanted to sit next to my friend." He chuckled. "As far as I know, you're cool with me." He smiled. I smiled again but it quickly faded when Jinxx, I guess I'll call him that, sat in front of me with a blank expression.
“What is she doing here?” He asks CC. I gave CC a look. Of course I was offended. Who wouldn't be? I never done anything to this person and for some reason he decided to not like me? What the heck was his problem??
CC just smiled friendly and said, “She’s my friend and I invited her to have lunch with us. Play nice and lets enjoy ourselves.” Jinxx nodded. I could tell CC was the peacemaker of this group. He seems to have this friendly vibe that was contagious and because of that, CC and I were going to be great friends.
After a few small chit chats and lots of awkward stare downs from Jinxx, lunch ended and we were all headed to class. Jinxx left us early because he wanted to go work on something in the music room and Jake also left to go practice guitar, which he was awesome at by the way. CC and I were on our way to to the building that had all of the classes when I suddenly realized that I didn't know where I was going. He insisted on helping me out and finding my next class with me. We made it to the door when suddenly he stopped and looked at me.
“Give me your phone.” he said. I handed it to him and he fumbled on it for a bit before handing it back to me.
“There,” He said smiling, “you have my number now! Text me later!”
“Sure thing!” I responded, “I’ll see ya tomorrow!”
“Are you not riding the bus home?” He asks me.
“Wait what?” I asked, how did he know i rode the bus? I barely met him during band..? unless he saw me step off of it this morning.
“I promise I'm not stalking you!” He laughed. He must have read my face, “We ride the same bus! As a matter of fact, you sat next to me this morning!”
“What?!” I exclaimed, “How come I don’t remember that?!”
“Maybe because you were too busy pretending to be on your phone” He teased, poking my side. I laughed.
“I can't help that i have weirdos watching everything I do makes me feel awkward!” I stuck my tongue at him.
With that, we parted ways as I entered my english class. The rest of the day was a blur as it was boring. The rest of my classes consisted of my other boring classes like Algebra, Science and English. I walked towards the busses and hopped on. I immediately saw CC and sat next to him.
"You're still alive!" He said laughing.
"Surprisingly, yeah!" I said. "I how I should feel about Jinxx though. I told you he didn't like me!" I said with a pout.
"He's like that with everyone at first. Give him time." He smiled. We continued on with getting to know each other more until he got off at his bus stop which wasn't that far from mine.
