A War Worth Fighting For

Raynes POV

Its been 3 weeks since we picked up Wes. And it has been quiet. The news reports have nothing new to report on the strange killings and disappearances. We haven't has any activity around the house aside from Lucifer making and impromptu visit one morning. He was letting us know that the attacks in hell have stopped and they are trying to rebuild what's left of the army to help us on earth. The first time that the armies of the heavens and the armies of hell will work together against a common enemy.
Jinxx has not spoken to me since then either. Everyone in our little group is starting to feel the tension. And now with us all stuck on a tour bus, the tension is even higher.
"Well they believed it!"
I look at Jake confused, "uhh, who believed what?"
"record companies, fans and reporters believed that we were descendants of the original black veil brides, and that we want to continue their legacy using their name."
"Well I'm sure it helps that you 'look like the originals' minus all the make up of course."
"yeah, we do look like them, don't we?"
I laughed at CC, "you could be doppelgängers."
Ash shook is head, "Rayne, that's was really bad."
"Shut up."
Jinxx walk out of the bunk area of the tour bus in a huff. Our eyes met and I gave him a sad smile, he just turned his head and grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler before walking back to his bunk. I shrank back and hung my head. Ash sat next to me be put an arm around me.
"Ash, what do I do? He's acting like its my fault. No matter what I try to do, no matter what I say, he just walks away. What did I do so wrong?"
"Rayne, I wish I had an answer for you. We all know that there is nothing you can do about everything that's been going on. We've all tried talking to him but he shuts us down and changes the subject."
"Unless it has to do with the band or war, and his duties, he has not said a word to me. Ash, he sleeps in a separate bunk."
"Really?"
i nodded, tears roll down my face, I can hold back the pain anymore. Ash pulls me up and into the back bunk area. Past Jinxxs bunk and out of earshot of everyone.
"I haven't felt this broken since I was put in a dungeon and thought I would never see him again."
"Rayne, maybe he just needs time."
"I feel like I'm loosing my world Ash, He is everything to me."
Anger was written across his face. "Stay here." He got up and started to walk out.
"where are you going?"
"You'll see."
he opened the sliding door and stormed out, I heard Jinxx yell out, "What the fuck, man?"
Them a loud thump as I'm sure Ash dragged him out of his bunk. My suspicion was confirmed when I hear an 'ow' and Ash walks back in dragging a fighting Jinxx along behind him. I got a quick smile from Ash as he pushes Jinxx in and shuts the door behind him. Jinxx looks at me, then Ash, "what the fuck?"
"Jinxx I don't know what's going on with you, and the one person that should doesn't know either. I'm tired of the tension, I'm tired of the bullshit! And I'm tired of seeing Rayne hurting like this! Do you know what your doing to her? Look at her Jinxx, she's your mate, the one person in this world fashioned particularly for you. Your pissed and hurt, for whatever reason, but your taking it out on her like its her fault. She is only doing what she is supposed to be. She can't control what's going on. Now either you work this out, or neither of you are leaving this room."
He slides the door open, walks out and slams it shut. I sat wide eyed in shock. I look at Jinxx who shares my look. I couldn't help myself, I snort out a laugh.
"Quit laughing at me! And start talking!" I only laughed harder. I even caught Jinxx smiling, trying his hardest not to laugh.
Finally he sits next to me, looks at me and sighs. "I'm sorry my love. For everything. Ash is right, you are the one person I can go to with anything and I've shut you out. It's wrong of me. Can you forgive me?"
"Of course baby, you know I can."
"I'm miss you being human Rayne. I miss being the one to protect you. Now you don't need my protection. And I feel useless, weak."
"But I do need you to protect me Jinxx. Maybe not the way you used to but you protect parts of me most important. You protect my heart and my soul. You keep me grounded. You remind me of the reasons why we fight evil. Without you I would be lost, and I wouldn't be what I am today."
I wrap my arms around him tightly, and press my face into his neck.
"my love, my world, my reason for existing. No more fighting. I promise."
"Well it's about time!"
i look at the door and laugh, "Shut up Ash."
he opens the door, "Aww, love you too Rayne."

"We're here!"
I stand and stretch, this tour bus drivers seat is so uncomfortable. I shake Jinxx awake, he's fallen asleep in the passenger seat.
"Time to play?"
"What, did you really think I'd let you sleep that long?" He looked confused, "babe, were at the hotel, you don't play til tomorrow."
"Oh. So then it is time to play." A seductive grin spread across his face.
"Well, if I knew that's what you meant in the first place, I would have said yes."
he leans in for a passionate kiss, grabbing my hips, pressing his fingers in. I let out a soft moan, but all to soon we are interrupted by CC, "Awww!! Make up sex later, let's go stretch."
Jinxx groans, "ugh, do we have to?"
"Looks like it."
"I want you my love, it's been 3 weeks to long." his lips trail down my neck, His fingers play lightly over the skin of my stomach.
"LETS GO!!"
"He's really good at ruining the moment."
"Yes my love, he always was."
