I Swear I'll Never Let You Die

I held tightly onto Jasey's hand as we sat in the waiting room of Patient First. Danielle was in my other arm, shivering slightly.

"Biersack.." A nurse called out from the doorway. I nodded, and stood up, pulling Jasey with me.

We followed her back to a small room that seemed suited for babies. I laid Dani down on the small crib-like bed and sat next to Jasey in one of the chairs.

"The doctor will be with you guys shortly." The blonde woman said, nodding and leaving us alone again. I stared at the wall across from me, not talking just becoming more worried as the seconds passed.

I let my hand rest on Danielle's stomach and closed my eyes.

"Hey.." I heard Jasey say. I opened my eyes and looked over at her. She looked so sad and I felt my heart immediately contract. Her hand moved to rest on my arm. "It's going to be alright. We'll get through this." I nodded softly as the doctor walked in the room. He was a tall man with grey hair.

"Mr. and Mrs. Biersack?" He asked.

"That's us." I said, sitting up a bit.

"I'm Doctor Martin. I see your daughters not feeling too well." He said, walking closer to her.

"No, we got a call from our baby sitter saying that she was throwing up and had a terrible fever. We rushed home from our photo shoot and then took her here." I said, feeling Jasey take my hand. I was suddenly reminded of when she took me to Patient First all those years ago when we first moved out to LA.

"Ah okay." He said, getting out a thermometer. He placed it under her tongue and she let out a small cry that broke my heart. "She has a fever, 101.2. I think I'm going to test her for the flu. It seems to be the most logical thing." He took at a swab and quickly stuck in my daughters nose. She immediately started crying full on and I stood to pick her up. "I'll go run this and be back in about fifteen minutes."

"Okay, thank you." Jasey said as I sat back next to her with Danielle in my arms. She grabbed her phone out of her pocket and began dialing a number.

"Who are you calling?" I asked, hoarsely.

"Your mom." She said, holding the phone to her ear.

"Put it on speaker." I said. She quickly did and my mom picked up on the third ring.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hey Amy it's Andy and I." Jasey said.

"Oh hi guys. Find anything out?" She asked.

"Probably the flu." I said, sighing and laying my head on Jasey's shoulder.

"Oh okay. Well if you need anything else please don't hesitate to ask." She said.

"Thanks mom, love you." I said.

"Love you!" Jasey smiled.

"Love you guys too! Bye now." I heard the beep signaling the call was over and let out another sigh.

We were silent for a few minutes until I finally spoke up. "I had no idea parenting would be this hard." She chuckled and ran her fingers through my hair.

"I love you." She whispered, kissing my head. Her arm wrapped around my neck and I closed my eyes.

"I love you too." I said, scratching Danielle's back lightly. The doctor walked in a few moments later.

"The test was postive. I've called in some Tamiflu to the Walgreens down the street if that's alright." He said, handing Jasey a piece of paper with Dani's prescription on it.

"That's fine, thank you." She said, standing up and placing Danielle in her carrier. Doctor Martin nodded and walked out of the room. "Take her to the car and I'll pay, okay?" I nodded and kissed her lips quickly before walking out of the room, her following.

I walked out to the car and buckled Danielle into her car seat. I got in the drivers side and rested my head on the steering wheel, thanking the whatever was up in the sky for letting her sickness be so easily treated.
