Heaven waits for no angels

"I'm your mom." I choked out with my very lssdt breath. A whole circus sat on my lungs and the capacity broke the faucet in my eyes. I smiled at her, and watched as the same weight that was lifted off my shoulders came tumbling down off hers. An avalanche of feelings that had been resting on shaky ground for years crushed all the despair and for once in that mountain's life, no one mistakened it for a volcano. That mountain was beautiful, and finally at peace.

"Mom?!" She gasped trying not to fall apart in front of me. The glaze in her eyes cleaned her cheeks as we spoke. I nodded my head as a singlet left my eye.

"Oh my god mom!" Aubrehysterically cried out throwing herself into my arms. For hours, we both said nothing. We just cried tears of every kind; sadness, weakness, anger, relief, you name it. Evey tear possible.


"Mommy did you find your prince?" She cried into my shoulder.

"Yes. Your prince will come someday too. He may not be riding a white horse, or have a big castle. But he will have a big heart and he will want you. And only you. And that my darling, is better than any fairy tale ever in existence. "

I hadnt realized what I said until I already said it, but when I did, i realized I had just given my daughter the most valuable lesson she'll ever learn in her life.

If only my mother had taught me.
Thats the last thing I said to my daughter before we both fell asleep. It was the best sleep I had ever gotten, knowing my baby girl was safe in my arms.
