Heaven waits for no angels

As the book was exchanged, a picture fell out onto my lap. I picked it up to realized,

The picture was me.

"Don't touch that!" She squealed. "It's the only thing I have of my mommy." I smiled at this, she didn't know who I was but she still cared about me. Daughter like mother. "You know who your mommy is?" "Well not really. Only when I was a baby, then she went bye bye. But I KNOW she'll come back for me someday." I didn't know what to say, "Well honey, I'm sure your mommy thinks about you and misses you with everyday that goes by." I comforted.

She laughed at this, but it wasn't a sweet little girl that's happy laugh, it was a 'You've got to be kidding me' look. "How would you know?" She laughed out. "Because sweetheart, I'm a mom. And a mom can never forget her child." I protested, "No matter how long it's been."

"Did you know my mommy?"
"I do."
"What's her name? "

"AddiLynn."
"Does she love me?"
"Yes she does."
She sat down across from me and flipped through the pages of her book. "Let me tell you a story." A smile appeared on her face. "Is it like this one?" She excitedly jumped up and down. "It starts out that way. Once upon a time, when your mother was little, she was just like you. She spent everyday down here, waiting for her prince charming to save her."

"Did he come? Is that why she isn't here anymore?" Aubrey interrupted me eager to know about my life. "No. One day, she was tired of waiting and she decided she would create her own ending to the story. She saved herself." Aubrey slumped over, she didn't like my story. "But that's not how the story goes." She whines. "Let me finish." I warned as she pretended to zip up her mouth.

"Sometimes in life, you have to save yourself, when your mommy learned this, she left to find her own prince charming. " Aubrey was silent for several minutes before she spoke her mind. "I know if my prince doesn't come my mommy will, did she send you?"
