Happy Little Pill

Finished Album!

The beat of the bass sounded throughout the room and my head bobbed to the sound. Andy was singing in the booth and I was watching. Tom and Jeremy were sitting at the boards and were watching Andy intently. As he finished the song I looked up and smiled at him.

"Alright Andy, I think that's the last song," Tom said through the intercom and Andy did this weird jump.

"Does this mean the album is done?" I asked.

"Almost, we just have to do some more editing, which isn't hard. And then Dan and your mother have to sign off on it, but otherwise, yeah, it's done," Tom explained and Andy walked into the area.

"This is reason to celebrate," Andy said as he sat down next to me and put his arms around me.

"I would love to get drunk and shit, but Charlie is coming home today," I said.

"That's right," Andy said.

"Well, I'll get drunk at the house then," he smiled and I laughed.

"I'll show this all to Dan and we will hopefully have this album fully recorded and ready for release in a week," Tom said and Andy nodded.

"The photo shoot is next week, right?" He looked at me and I raised my eye brows.

"Um, I think so," to be honest, I have no idea.

"I'll check with Dan," he said and stood. I followed suit and grabbed my bag.

"You two sicken me sometimes," Tom said.

"Why, because we are so awesome?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's go with that," he said and spun the chair to the board to begin working. I intertwined my fingers with Andy's and pulled him out of the room and down the hall. While we stood waiting for the elevator, I heard my name being called. I looked over my shoulder and saw my mother walking down the hall. Oh no.

"Sadee, honey, I have a question," she said.

"Hurry up, the elevator is almost here," I said.

"Is it true, about Charlie?" She asked. My breath caught in my throat and I turned to face her.

"What did you hear?" I asked.

"That he was in the hospital after a suicide attempt," she said.

"No, it's not. He's fine," I lied to her and she gave me a look.

"Please tell me the truth, Lauren isn't speaking to me and God knows I can't understand Gustav," she said.

"Charlie isn't my kid, you'll have to talk to Lauren," I said and she sighed. The door to the elevator opened and Andy and I walked in.

"We finished recording the album by the way, you should check it out. It's awesome," I said as the doors closed.

"If she's not talking to Lauren, how did she find out about Charlie?" Andy asked. I shrugged and looked at him.

"She's a famous singer, she can find anything out," I said and the doors opened. We walked out of them and out to the car.

I climbed out of the car and turned to look at my sisters house. It was nearing six o'clock in the evening and I didn't see either of the cars. A worried look came on my face as I pulled out my phone and quickly called Charlie's phone. It rang for a second or two before someone answered.

"Aunt Sadee," I heard and let out a sigh of relief.

"Are you home alone?" I asked.

"No, I'm watching Cienne and Claus while mom and dad are doing whatever they are doing," he said.

"You sound happy," I said.

"I am, kind of. I'm more looking at the positive side of things," he said.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Like, I am going to be a songwriter like you," he said.

"Oh really? You think it's easy?" I chuckled and walked into the house. Andy walked into the kitchen, probably to grab some sort of alcohol.

"Yeah, but I don't know, I kind of want to sing too," he said and then I heard Cienne laugh in the background.

"Well, if you ever need help with ideas or singing, you know which house on this block has both of those," I said and sat down on the couch.

"Yeah. Um, I wanna thank you for finding me," he said.

"Thank Cienne for that, she called my phone," I said.

"How?" He asked.

"With your phone," I said. He was quiet and I heard him walking somewhere.

"My dad talked to me about everything," he said.

"Did he? Good, you need to know you have people to talk to," I said.

"He's putting me in therapy for a while so I can get my thoughts in check," he said.

"Well, coming from a person who has experience with therapy, it helps, a lot," I said.

"Are my parents really getting a divorce?" He asked suddenly and I couldn't answer.

"Um," I paused.

"Aunt Sadee, if they are, that's fine. I just want to know that it's not my fault," he said.

"Oh god no, of course it's not your fault. They were having issues long before all of this happened," I said.

"What's going to happen to us?" He asked.

"By us, I'm guessing you are referring to you, Cienne, and Claus. That I'm not sure about. But I will always be here to talk, hang out, listen, whatever you need," I said. Andy came into the room with two cups and sat down next to me.

"I know. I just, I don't want my mother back in my life," he said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because she did bad things to me and my dad and I don't want that back," he said.

"Okay, well, I promise, you and your brother and sister will not get hurt because of all of this," I said.

"Okay. Well, I think Cienne is hungry and she will eat me if I don't feed her," he chuckled and I smiled.

"Well go feed your sister before she eats you," I said and hung up.

"Is he doing okay?" Andy asked and handed me the cup.

"He sounded fine, but I'm not sure. I can see through the lies of a depressed child," I said and took a drink. I rested my head on Andy's shoulder and he kissed the top of my head.

"So, the photo shoot is on Monday, then there is a radio interview that I have to do with BVB on Wednesday. And I think you should be there," he said.

"Like standing on the side, listening?" I asked.

"Yeah, I think we should maybe tell people about us now," he said.

"As far as the world knows, you are still dating Juliet, or at least that's what your fans think," I said.

"True, but, I'm not dating her, I'm dating you and I want people to know that," he said.

"Maybe, we will talk about that later. Right now, I wanna watch the Lego Movie," I said and he chuckled. We aren't exactly conventional, but who even cares?

Notes

Okay, this one might suck a little bit. I am sorry. But, I do have a couple things planned that involve songwriting between Sadee and Charlie. Oh an we get to meet Charlie's mother soon. Yay!
