Happy Little Pill

Summary

Sadee Christian grew up in the country music scene, her mother being country super star Lori Ann Christian. Sadee wants something similar to what her mom had, except not country. No one seemed to understand her style of music or her songs back in Nashville, so she moved to Los Angeles when she was 20 years old with her boyfriend Colton. They lived together for two years, her jumping from job to job as a lyricist, him landing a steady journalist job.

Then she was hired by Dan Preston, the producing manager for the Andy Black project. Sadee's job was to help Andy write songs, and that was it. A simple lyricist job for Sadee. But it turned into something much more.

She was Andy's happy little pill.

Characters

Charles Wright

Charles is the father of both Lauren and Sadee. He is deceased *Sad Face* and Sadee wrote a great song about him. He is mentioned only through memories from Sadee and the occasional fight between Sadee and her mom. He was a successful heart surgeon and eventually began the Governor of Tennessee. But he was killed at a press conference.

Charlie Fleischmann

Charlie is the awesometastic nephew of Sadee. Even though they aren't blood related, she considers him her nephew. He becomes super close to Sadee and spends most of his free time with her and Andy. He is gay, but he is still awesometastic. He is Gustav's birthson and Lauren's stepson.

Colton Avery

Has a 'bad-boy' image but is actually really caring. Absolutely loves Sadee and would do anything for her. He is from LA, but met Sadee when he was in Nashville for school.

Dan Preston

While working closely with a few other independent artists, he is the head manager in the 'Andy Black' project and is the one to go to with questions. He is a friend of Andy and is basically a father figure for all of them.

Gustav Fleischmann

Gustav is the awesome German dude of the story. He becomes friends with Sadee and Andy and thanks Sadee over and over again for her taking such good care of Charlie. He is a businessman who was born and raised in Germany.

Kyle Preston

A quiet, reserved music assistant. He works alongside Sadee and 'clicks' with Sadee quickly and becomes one of her best friends. He is married with children, but doesn't talk about them much. Has a minor role in the story.

Lauren Fleischmann

Lauren is Sadee's older sister. She lived in Germany for over ten years working as an American ambassador for the UN. She moved back to the US and developed a relationship with her sister. She is nine years older than Sadee.

Lori Ann Christian

After a successful career as a singer-songwriter, she has retired and runs her own recording label called L. Chris Records. She understands Sadee's talent for writing and singing, but doesn't understand her working with Andy after growing up in a country household. Has a relatively big role in the story.

Sadee Christian

A feisty, innocent, country girl from Nashville. She moved to LA a little over a year ago and lives with her long time boyfriend Colton. She is amazing at writing and singing, but no one seems to notice, except Andy. She is between short and average height, she's 5'5".
