You broke me but got me back up *COMPLETED*

Chapter 8: I thought you feel the same

Kaycee’s POV

“Kaycee Maywood?"

“Yeah, that’s me…”

A girl stood next to my locker all shy.

“I-I’m Jessica…I’m new here and well… people didn’t want to help me around. I saw your name on your books…”

She was scared like hell. It looked like she was going to die. Jessica shattered.
“Oh. Well, yeah. I’m Kaycee Maywood. How can I help you?” I nicely spoke.
A smile showed up on her face. She relaxed and we began to talk.
“I don’t know where Biology is. Can you help me? I think we’re both there.”’
I nodded and she followed me to the classroom.

“You can sit with me if you want. The seat is free again now,” I mumbled.
She sat down and looked at me: “What do you mean again? Who sat here before?”
It was hard for me to answer. Andy and I always sat together. And now he’s gone. He doesn’t want to contact me at all. I wonder what he’s doing right now. Maybe he’s in school or he’s being himself.

“Uh, my boyfriend… I mean, my ex boyfriend.”
YES, EX boyfriend. Not BOYFRIEND but EX boyfriend. I decided to break it. Even though Andy said he needed some space, I broke it. We’re done. We’re over.
“Oh… I’m sorry,” she started. “Where is he now, if I can ask? If it’s a bit too personal I understand.”

Wow, she wasn’t that pushing like the other people. Maybe I could actually tell her.
“Well… it’s a long story. We were together for a few weeks and then he moved to LA. We didn’t have any contact for almost 2 or 3 weeks. I… I was pregnant and I had an abortion. He wanted to get some space so… I called it broken. I’ve trying to move on and I’m doing quite a good job-” then I stopped. Thinking back reminded me about the baby. “But I still miss him. He was the first person who actually cared for me like that…. Can I ask you a favor?”

She nodded and looked at me.
“Don’t tell this to anyone, please. I don’t want the school to give me more trouble. Promise?”
“Of course. I would never tell this to other people without permission. Uh, one more question…”

I wasn’t thinking about anything else than helping that girl out again.
“Could you help me with Math, please? I saw your name on the school’s site. They say you’re really good at Math and other subjects like this,” she started.
I smiled and answered her question.

“Of course I’ll help you. Where would you want to study? We can study at my place or yours. I don’t really like the library… but if you want we can do it there. I don’t mind.”
She thought and said: “Will my place be ok? I want to surprise mom because she thinks I will never have any people that’ll help me or be my friends.”

“Hey, I’m your friend! And honestly, you’re the only person I talk to on this school besides my sister.”

She giggled and Sophia ran to me.
“Hey baby sis! I have some news for you! Oh, who’s this?” she asked.
“I’m Jessica. A-A friend of Kaycee. I suppose you’re her sister, right?”
Sophia nodded and looked back to me.

“Kaycee, I got myself a date for tonight! That Jason guy from Lisa’s school asked me out! Finally, right?! I know! After spending friendship quality time he finally asked me out!”
She was so excited. I’m happy for her. She finally has some time for herself. Before, she only took care of me and didn’t have time to do stuff she wants. It’s her turn to start living again.
“I’m happy for you! I hope he asks you to be his girlfriend and MAYBE he’ll be my brother one day,” I wink.

Sophia rolled her eyes and left the classroom. The day went pass and well… I went to Jessica’s place.

I have to tell you also that I haven’t had terrors for almost 5 days. The last one was about Andy. He left me all alone while some random people kidnapped me. That was the worst dream I have ever had. Sophia was always there for me. But I had a dream similar to the one when I told Andy about Callie. The only difference was that another girl was there. She looked the same age like me.

“Mom! I’m home! Mom?” she shouted through the house.
“In the kitchen! I have made you something to eat!” her mom shouted.
I followed Jessica to the kitchen and looked around the house. Everything felt so familiar. The doors looked weird. Somehow I knew everything that was in the rooms. I even remembered a child painting on the wall. I couldn’t exactly put my finger on it. But it was so familiar! I swear to god I’ve been here before!

“Oh, you’ve brought a friend! Hi there!”
Her mother welcomed me nicely and Jessica introduced us as we shook hands until Jessica was finished.

“This is my mother Callie. Mom, this is Kaycee, my friend from school!”

Both Callie and I stopped shaking hands. ‘Callie.’ That was the name of the woman in my dreams. Callie. We looked into each other’s eyes and I swear to god I saw something.

“Uh, you have a really beautiful house,” I complimented.
She fake smiled and Jessica dragged me upstairs to her room.

This room is so familiar! Why is this like a déjà vu?

-flashback-

“Mommy! Barbie lost her head!” I screamed.
Mom ran upstairs and brought glue with her. We always did that when my Barbie doll was destroyed. Well, destroyed by me.
“There it is. Surgery went perfectly fine! Barbie is alright and ready to be played with!”
She always joked like that.

“Mommy, can you tell me a story?”
I loved stories. Especially if mom told me some.
“I will, but first you have to take a shower, princess Belle!”
Belle was my favorite character.

“Come on, jump to the shower! Mommy will tell you the best story on the land of princesses.”

-End of flashback-

“Kaycee? Kaycee are you ok?”
“What? Oh, you were saying?” I was confused. I couldn’t stop thinking about the flashbacks.
“Are you ok? Is something bothering you? You know you can talk to me, right?” Jessica asked.

“It’s just… this place… It somehow brings some memories and it brings some weird feelings.
Like I’ve been here before.”

Her eyes widen as I said that. Callie came to her room and she brought us some snacks.
“There you go, chocolate chips. I made them today,” she said.

“OMG! I love chocolate chips! I used to eat that when I was little!” I happily stated.
Callie sat down and looked at what we were working on.

“Is that homework? Is that Math? Baby, you were never good at Math. Kaycee, do you understand that kind of stuff?” she asked.
I nodded and I remembered at something when I was little.

“When I was 4 years old, my mother or whoever she was, told me that this kind of stuff need a lot of hard work to understand it. We dreamt of me going to study in LA later in life and then having a perfect life,” I said.

Callie turned her attention to me and yes, she did scan me up and down in confusion. Why is she so familiar to me? Do I know her somehow?

Jess and I got closer and closer and we could say we became best friends. Even Lisa got along with her really good. We became a trio.

Jason, now Sophia’s boyfriend, introduced me to his best friend Michael. Michael Bolton. No, not the singer Michael Bolton. A person. Not a singer.

We had to hand around together because Sophie and Jason were having their love moments… When she visited him, she dragged me. When he visited her, he dragged Michael with him.

Andy and I didn’t contact at all. I tried to call him and text him but he changed his number. I couldn’t find him on Skype either. He actually left my life. He left me. He didn’t care anymore.

--------------------
We were at a theme park. The exact theme park where Andy and I were for a date.

“Are you ok? You wanna take a ride?” Michael asked me.

He had brown, long hair and green eyes. Every day of my again normal life, the last thing I thought about… was Andy. The last thing I thought about when I went to sleep. What was he doing now? What was he thinking about? Was he being himself or was he actually going to school?

But Michael was a really good friend to me. Nothing else. Even though Jason and Sophia wanted us to be more than friends.

“I’m ok… I just don’t feel like having fun right now…”

It’s true. I wasn’t in the mood. My first real date was here. And it hurt. It hurt knowing that Andy left me here. Here alone. He promised me.

“Oh… well, I’m gonna go and try to win something. I’ll be right back,” he said.

I was sitting there at the fountain. When I looked up I saw a couple at the gate hugging and kissing. Then it started to rain. They both giggled and he pulled her closer into his embrace. It reminded me of Andy and I so much. I just started at them. I couldn’t turn my head away. I couldn’t. My hair and clothes were soaking wet. My mascara was smudged over my face. Everything was messed up. Rain was pouring on my face, but it wasn’t just rain. I dropped a tear down my cheek. A tear of sadness.

Suddenly I felt someone taking my hand and trying to drag me from the rain.
“Kaycee! Come on, it’s raining!” Jason shouted. Michael was holding my hand and he pulled me under the roof.
Sophia looked at me and saw that there was a tear on my face. Not just rain.
“Kaycee, what’s wrong? Do you wanna go home?”
I nodded and wiped away my tears. Why did it hurt so much?

------------------------

At home I changed into a tee and some sleeping shorts. I dried my hair and sat on the couch in the living room. My laptop was there so I opened it.
YouTube was the only site I wanted to check out. I started listening to random music. Then I accidentally opened a file and pictures came up.

Pictures of me and Andy. Some were selfies, some were random pictures we took of each other… I cried a little bit. I didn’t notice that Michael was standing behind me checking out the pictures. The last one was about me and Andy kissing on the grass.

“Why did you leave me, Andy? Why did you leave us?” I said out loud, sobbing.
“Was he your boyfriend Kaycee?” Michael asked.
I jumped and closed the laptop. He scared me!
“Y-Yeah… he was… uh, do you need anything?”
He shook his head and wrapped his arms around me.

“Don’t cry… if he left you, he was a jerk. You deserve much better,” he said.
Michael leaned in for a kiss and before I even tried to pull away, he kissed me.
“Oh my god! What the fuck, Michael?! What’s wrong with you?!” I yelled at him.
Sophia and Jason ran downstairs seeing how we argued.

“I’m sorry, Kaycee. I thought you feel the same… I’m really sorry,” he tried to touch me and hug me, but I put my hands up and walked away. I grabbed my jacket and ran out of the house. It was still raining.

“Kaycee! Wait! Kaycee, come back here! Baby girl! Come on! Don’t leave!” Sophia shouted.
I didn’t listen. I just walked in fast pace and I didn’t care about turning around. I found myself in front of the house and thankfully, she opened the door. I didn't want to spend any more time at home with my sister, her boyfriend his stupid best friend. If Andy was still here, I'd run to him and never leave.

“Hi… do you mind if I… um… can I please stay here for a while?” I asked.

She nodded and I stepped in.
