My Legacy

Ashley's POV: Damn. I had hoped I was able to keep myself in check enough not to let my feelings for Christina show, but guess not, since now everyone but CC and Christina know. I'd rather keep it that way, but at the same time, I would love nothing more than to make Christina my girl.
Emily did say Christina has a crush on me too, but how would CC take it? I mean, that's his little sister. I'm his band mate. I'm also known to be a bit of a man whore, but I would change all that in a heartbeat if she were mine.
Maybe I should just talk to CC. He might be cool with it, if I explain myself to him. I mean, we are band mates and best friends. Ugh, who am I kidding? He'd never go for it.
After we got back to the bus, I went into my bunk, which happens to be above Christina's. I didn't want to sit there, when everyone knew my secret. I didn't want to deal with their eyes on me.
I really don't know what to do...
Jake's POV: About an hour being on the road, Christina says she's kind of sleepy, so she was going to go crash. We all say goodnight to her, then she moves through the bus, to the bunk area.
"So, CC, I need to talk to you," Emily says when Christina's out of ear shot.
"Sure. What about?" he asked, looking over at her.
"Well, do you notice anything between Christy and Ashley?" she asked him.
"Yeah. Just not sure what it is," he replies, and I see from the corner of my eye, Andy stiffen.
"Well, Ashley-"
"Ash is just being nice, Emily," Andy says, cutting her off.
"I'd say there's more to it than being nice, Andy," she counters, folding her arms across her chest, "In fact, I'd say he's in love with her, just as much as she's in love with him."
"Wait, what?" CC demands, looking between Emily and Andy in confusion.
"Ashley has a crush on Christy, but thinks you're going to kill him if he tries to ask her out," Andy says in defeat.
"Why would I kill him? Sure, I probably wouldn't be really happy about them being together until he proved he wasn't going to hurt her, but they're both adults, and it's not like Christy doesn't know his past," CC says, shocking us all.
"Wait, so you're cool with them dating?" Jinxx asked in shock.
CC shrugs and says, "Don't see why not. Like I said, they're both adults. They can make their own minds up. I'm not going to stop them, but if Ashley breaks her heart or hurts her in any way, just a heads up, I will kick his ass."
"What?" we hear from the kitchen, and when I look over, I see Ashley standing at the counter, holding on to the sink, like he's going to fall over.
"Go ahead and ask my sister out, if you want to, dude. Just know I won't hesitate to kick your ass, the second you hurt her," CC says, looking Ashley in the eye.
"Are you serious?" Ash asked, unsure if he heard CC correctly. Hell, I'm starting to wonder if the man's okay. CC normally would never let something like this happen, yet he seems totally fine with it.
"Yeah," CC replies, then asked, "What are you doing out here anyway? Thought you weren't feeling good."
Ashley sighs, then says, "I was debating on talking to you about this. I see someone beat me to the punch though. I came out to put Christina's chair away, since she was going to bed, and she needed some help getting in bed."
"Alright, and yeah. I'm cool with it, but accept whatever answer she gives you, man. Deal?" CC says, standing up and offering his hand to Ashley, who takes it in his, and says, "Deal."
Christina's POV: I was trying to get into bed, but realized that I couldn't on my own. Damn it. I look up and see Ashley looking down at me from his bunk and then I say, "Help me?" in a small, child-like tone. I feel like an idiot for asking for help into bed, but this is not going to work.
He nods, then jumps out of his bunk, and picks me up bridal style. He then gently places me in my bunk and kneels down next to me.
I feel my cheeks heat up at him being so close, and say, "Thanks."
"No problem. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here for you. Also, don't hesitate to wake me up if you need something in the middle of the night," he tells me, then stands up and walks my chair out to the living area.
I sigh, feeling stupid. Weak. Like I'm a nuisance to everyone around me. Always having to ask for help anymore, and I hate it, because let's be honest. I'm a very independent person. Or at least I was.
A few moments pass, then I hear Ashley enter the bunks again and he kneels beside my bunk again. He's smiling. Happy for whatever reason. Then I know why.
"Christina, can I ask you something?" he asked me.
"Yeah. Anything," I reply.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" he asked, smiling like a nervous little boy.
"Took you long enough to ask. I'd love to," I reply with a smile of my own, then he hugs me tightly, and kisses my forehead.
"Thank you so much. And I would have asked sooner, but your brother was in my way," he says with a smirk, "But, you're tired. Get some rest. We're going to make a bedroom for you in the back of the bus, though, tomorrow. Then you and I will go on a date."
I smile shyly, then pull him closer and kiss his lips. With my lips still against his, I whisper, "Thank you. Goodnight."
"Thank you. Now, sleep, my angel. Goodnight," he says, then kisses me again and gets back in his bunk.
I can't believe it. I'm actually going on a date with Ashley Fuckin' Purdy.
