I'm Not Afraid

Seraphine's Point of View

I sat next to Andy as he held my hand as we watched the casket that held Grams being lowered into the ground. Everyone around us was crying but we were just squeezing our hands together. Something about having him holding my hand just made me feel stronger than I was. He was my security net and my sense of home.

"Do we have to stick around after this?" I whispered to Andy. He let go of my hand and pulled me into his side. He placed a kiss on top of my head.

"Fake, love." He whispered. I gave him a curt nod and held onto my head as I forced some pain tears to leave my eyes. Everyone started to stand up and Andy and I stayed in our seats.

"Everything alright?" I heard my mom's voice asking.

"I'm probably going to take her home. She has a migraine. We are going to say our goodbyes to Grams before we leave here." Andy told my mom. He was clearly flattering her.

"That's fine. Take care of her, Andrew." My mom said before walking off. I gave Andy a hug and we said another goodbye to Grams.

"So I have two things to take care of today. You can either go with me or I can take you home." Andy said as we walked back to the car hand in hand. I gave him a sideways glance.

"I'll go with you, Andy. As long as you get me some In-N-Out." I told him. He opened the car door for me and helped me get in.

"As you wish, my dear." He shut the door and quickly rushed over to the driver side. He slid into his seat and started the car.

"So where are we going?" I asked him as we started down the long stretch of the gravel road that led from the.

"You are going to help me. I have two houses to choose from that I really like but I can't decide which one I like most." Andy laughed. I looked over at him hoping he was kidding but he wasn't.

"Andrew."

"Seraphine."

"Andrew, you can't be serious." I said looking at him. He nodded and pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. That was the one way that I knew he was being serious. "Andy."

"Baby?" He said seductively. I felt my entire body was melting. He had never called me baby before and it was one of the sexiest things alive. I looked away from him and stared out the window trying to avoid his gaze.

He turned up the music and drove to the house we were going to look at. Every once in a while he would place his hand on my leg and gently pat it as a way to let me know that everything was okay. I would sometimes put my hand over his and give him a delicate smile.

When we pulled up to the first house I was in absolute awe. It was a gorgeous white brick home with a beautiful landscaping. I looked over at Andy as he quickly got out of the vehicle. He came over to my side of the car. He opened the door and smiled at me.

"Here. Put this on." Andy said quickly as he handed me a huge. I looked at him with wide eyes. "Pretend to be my fiancee while we are at the houses."

"If you want to marry me, all you had to do was ask." I joked. He gave me a look that meant that I needed to put on my game face. I grabbed his hand and let him shut the door. He smiled at me before we made our way to the front door.

"Here goes nothing." He winked before ringing the doorbell. I smiled at him as he heard the clocking of high heels approaching the door from the inside. He gave my hand a squeeze as the realtor opened the door with a fake smiled.

"Ah. Mr. Biersack. Are you ready to see the house? And who is this lovely lady?" She asked him, her smile fading a little at the sight of me.

"This is my fiancee, Seraphine." Andy smiled happily at me. I noticed a flicker in his eyes and it almost made me feel like I was really his soon-to-be wife. We walked around the house and looked at every room and joked about what we would use each room for. We got to a room that looked like a nursery and Andy put his hand over my stomach and said that one day it would belong to our child.

"Well that does it. We've been over the price before and I figure that you are okay with it?" The realtor asked.

"Yes. We have no issue with money. I would be able to pay you right now." Andy smiled at me. I gave him a questioning look. "But we have another house to look at. Can you be back here around noon tomorrow?"

"Sure thing. Noon is perfect." She gave us one last fake smile and led us out the door. As soon as we were in the car and driving away we were laughing our asses off.

"That lady was mad dogging you hardcore." Andy laughed.

"She wanted your ass." I told him. He pretended to gag and drove to the next house.

"You want my ass." He laughed. I looked at him and merely blinked a few times. "I knew it."

"Knew what?" I asked him as we pulled up to the next house. This house was very modern He laughed and got out of the car. He walked over and opened my door for me. "Thank you, honey."

"We will discuss all this later." He winked at me before we entered the house. The lady acted the same same as the other lady did and we were in and out of the house before we knew it. We were back in the car and heading to get some dinner.

"I can't believe that we went from funeral, to house searching and now we are about to get In-N-Out in this garb." I said referring to our clothing. Andy laughed as we pulled up to the small franchise.
He smiled as me as we walked inside to grab our dinner.

"Grab a table." He told me. I nodded and grabbed us a corner both away from everyone else as he ordered the food. I smiled as he made his way back towards me; food in his hands and a smile on his face. "So. Which house did you like best?"
