In The End
Tension and Trouble
Andy’s POV
We have to get out of here now. “Hold on to something guys. Were about to mow down some zombies.” I said. I put my foot down and drove the pedal in to the floor. It was about a split second after I felt the back of the van jolt upwards. I heard a loud bang on the roof, then a thud on the seat next to me.
“Holy fuck! Flick are you ok? Wake up, come on! Ashley said franticly. He was starting to panic.
“Ash what the hell happened?” I asked with a worried tone. I waited for his reply but there wasn’t one. There was just silence. I pulled the van over and turned around to see Flick laying there on the floor unconscious, in a pool of her own blood. She had a huge cut on her head which was bleeding badly. I jumped out of the driver’s seat and crawled in to the back. I saw that some of the colour had drained from Flick’s face. Tears started to slip from my eyes. For some reason I was getting really attached to her, like she was my little sister. “Ash we need to put some pressure on the cut to stop it from bleeding.” I said as calmly as I could. I saw Ash pull off his shirt and put it over the cut on Flick’s head. As soon as I was sure that Ash and Flick were ok I crawled back in to the driver’s seat and began to drive again, a lot more carefully this time. When we reached the warehouse the guys were waiting for us.
“Where the hell have you guys been?” Kellin asked in rather a fatherly tone.
“Well we were driving back with the van when the back kind of flew up and well Flick hit her head and was kind of knocked out. I said quickly. I saw Kellin’s face go from annoyed to completely terrified. His eyes started to fill with tears threatening to spill over at any second.
“W-where is s-she?” He asked with a stutter. I walked over to the door of the van and opened it to reveal Flick laying on the van floor with Ashley’s shirt on her head. “Flick.” The colour had completely drained out of Kellin’s face. He turned to the guys. “Can you get her inside? Me and Andy need to talk.” The guys nodded simultaneously and carried Flick in to the warehouse with Ashley following closely behind. As soon as they were out of ear shot Kellin turned to me and glared. I swear if looks could kill I would have dropped dead. “I should kick your ass right now, it’s your fault this happened to Flick.” I was genuinely shocked.
“Wait what? Flick hit her head. I had nothing to do with it.” I stated clearly. I saw a wave of anger wash across Kellin’s face. The next thing I knew I was pinned up against a wall. For a guy that is about 5’8 he’s really strong. I’m 6’2 and couldn’t get out of his grip. I saw the wave of anger wash across his face again.
“You so much as lay a finger on her and you will end up as zombie food. Got it?” He stated, I could see the hatred in his eyes. Did he really think that I would hurt Flick? He let go of me and walked in to the ware house. “Did that really just happen?” I thought to myself. I dusted myself off and headed in to the warehouse only to see that Flick was now awake. I quickly avert my eyes and walk back out of the warehouse. A million questions filled my head, it was making me feel nauseous. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts as I was tackled to the ground by a couple of zombies. I had no weapon to defend myself against the attack. All I could do was shout and try to fight back.
“Someone help me.” I yelled as loud as I could. I couldn’t hear anything apart from the zombies and my erratic breathing. I thrashed around trying to get free of the zombies grasp. It was no use. “Help.” I yelled again. I saw Jake’s head poke out from the door, a look of pure terror washed over his face as soon as he saw the zombies. He stood there frozen. Tears started to stream down my face. “Jake, snap out of it.” I yelled. He jumped and suddenly realized what was happening. He ran back in to the warehouse, leaving me pinned to the ground by the zombies.
