It's not over.

Alice smiled out at the small crowd. She loved to sing her heart out and the small coffee shop she worked for was the perfect place. She couldn't get over how nice the crowd was. Even if she hit a sour note they still clapped and asked for another song. She turned back to the mic.
"Thank you guys so much! I'm Alice and I'm here for a good time! How about y'all?" She slurred excitedly. The crowd cried out with happiness.
"I'm guessing that means you're doing good, yeah?! Okay well since we're all in a good mood this song's called Sing. Maybe you've heard it? Join in if you know it!" She huffed. The small group of instrument players began behind her and she started singing the words she took so closely to heart.
~sing it out. boy you've got to see what tomorrow brings. sing it out. girl you gotta be what tomorrow needs.~ As she was singing she absent mindlessly looked around for her best friend Rose. She said she would be here an hour ago. Where was she? Maybe she was just running late? Just then she heard the jingling of the bell attached to the entrance. It was Rose. Alice smiled, grateful, that her best friend hadn't stood her up. After all they had been practically inseparable since first grade. They spent every weekend at each other's houses and went on vacations together. But now that they were adults themselves they shared a small studio apartment downtown, it was all they could afford. But, they were happy with it.
That's when the raven haired girl noticed a stranger trailing in behind Rose. She knew her from somewhere but she couldn't put her finger on it. She pushed it down and decided to just ask her after the show.
Alice belted out the last line and waited for the applause to die out.
~an hour later~
"Thanks for listening guys! I had a great time and I hope you did too! I'll see you next time!" And with that the frail singer stood up and switched the mic off before heading to the back room for water and her paycheck.
Rose saw Alice headed to the back and motioned at Juliet to follow her so they could wait outside the door. There was a moment of awkward silence before Juliet decided to break it.
"She's really good. She should go pro..." She trailed off, afraid that she shouldn't have said that. Luckily she said just the right thing.
"I've been telling her that for years! She's never believed me though. She thinks I'm saying it just because I'm her best friend!" Rose chortled.
"Well she should! She's amazing!" Juliet replied sweetly.
That's when the two girls heard the door creak open and an excited Alice bounced out, her curls bobbing with her. She held out her check to Rose, squealing with joy.
"FIFTY MORE THAN LAST WEEK!" Rose and Alice both screeched and then Alice remembered the mystery girl.
"Oh god I'm so sorry! I'm Alice. Have we met before?
"I'm Juliet...I don't think so but you look familiar...I can't put my finger on it though."
"Huh..." The girls said in unison. The silence was then broken by a shrill phone ringing.
Juliet reached into her purse and pulled out her buzzing phone before tapping Rose on the shoulder, startling the whit haired girl,
"It's Andy. He's probably wondering where I am. I'm sorry. I'll be right back."
"Oh okay." Rose replied cooly.
Sudden'y it hit Alice. "Did you just say Andy?"
