Misunderstood

Raven's P.O.V

We got into the limo. I sat in between Andy and Emerald. Andy grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together. I looked down at our hands and smile but only in the slightest. I didn't want to show that I was too happy. I kept my head down for the rest of the ride.

We finally arrived. Andy stepped out before I did. He stuck his hand out for me to take. I reluctantly took his hand and got out. We finally made it into the actual party. I let go of Andy's hand and put my own hands together, playing with my fingers nervously. Andy wrapped his arm around my waist.

"I'm going to go get us a drink." He said smiling at me.

"Um can I just have a water. Please."

"They should have some." With that he left to the bar.

I just stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. I looked at the makeshift dance floor and saw Emerald and the rest of the guys dancing. It wasn't dirty dancing. It just looked like they were having fun. I smiled at the thought of just having fun.

Before I knew it, Andy came back wth a beer for him and a bottled water for me. We didn't say anything. Basically. We just stood there awkwardly holding our drinks. We didn't even look at each other really. Thankfully, Emerald came and saved me.

"This is the part where you dance, Raven." She said laughing.

"Ok then." I said laughing. Andy took my water and I went to the dance floor. Teenagers by My Chemical Romance came on and Emerald and I sang as loudly as we could and danced along. I looked behind e and saw Andy talking to some brunette. I didn't let it get to me. It's not like it mattered. I turned back to Emerald and continued my fun.

When the song ended, I decided to take a break so I could catch my breath. I looked back to where Andy and I stood before, I saw he was gone. All that was left was my water bottle. I decided to just get some air outside. I left my drink. I didn't need nor want it any more.

When I got outside, I saw a bench. A lonely bench that no one ws sitting on. So I walked over to it and sat my butt down to have some peace and quiet. I then heard a deep voice and a scratchy female voice talking from behind. It was distant. I slowly turned and saw Andy and the brunette girl talking. It looked like a heart to heart type thing. I just turned back around. I don't care. Nope. Not at all.

I just sat on the bench for the rest of the party. Emerald found me telling me that everyone was leaving. I stood up and walked with her to the limo. Andy and the girl he had been with the whole party with, were the last ones on. I just looked down. Not paying attention to anyone or their conversations.

The limo dropped Emerald and me off first. I quickly got out of the car before anyone could even say bye to me. I literally ran up to my apartment. And kicked the door opened. I ran to my room and slammed and locked the door behind me.

I quickly changed out of my skirt and crop top and slipped on some sweat pants and a plain black tank top. I pulled my hair up into a high pony tail and took all of my make up off. I slipped into to bed after I brushed my teeth and just turned my lights off and fell asleep.

I woke up to the smell of chocolate chip muffins. I got out of bed and walked to the door with my eyes closed. I forgot that I locked my door and slammed right into it. I fell on the ground and moaned in pain. I stood back up and unlocked my door and continued my walk to the kitchen. I guess I was so tired that I didn't even notice that the guys were here. I grabbed a bowl, four muffins, and a glass of skim milk and walked right back to my room. I kicked my door shut when I got to my room. I sat on my bed and decided to watch Edward Scissorhands. I was in the middle of third muffin when I heard a knock on my door. I just looked at my door and didn't say anything. I just continued to eat my muffin and watch the movie.

I heard my door open and felt weight on my bed. I turned my head and saw Andy sitting on my bed. I flicked him off and continued eating.

"What did I do to you?!" Andy yelled.

I flinched at his words but didn't say anything.

"Answer me, Raven."

I still didn't say anything and just watched my movie. All that was around us was silence.

"Thanks for practically ditching me at the party." I said out of nowhere.

"I couldn't find you."

"Don't lie. I know you weren't looking for me. You were with the stupid brunette girl. I sat in front of the two of you for I don't know how long and you didn't notice I was even there."

"Did you hear what we were talking about?"

"No. And I don't give a flying fuck what you were talking about."

"Ok." With that he just left. Like what the hell.

I finished my food and milk and took my dirty dished to the sink in the kitchen. I walked back to. H room without talking to anyone. I just slammed the door behind and finished my movie. When the movie was almost over, I heard the door open and saw Emerald walk in.

"Hey we are going to the mall. Let's go." She said all cheery.

"Nope. I'm not going."

"Come on, Ray."

"No! I just want to be by myself!"

With that, she just left without another word. I finally heard the door close, and I grabbed my laptop. I knew exactly what I was going to write about. With that thought I started typing up my short story.
