Misunderstood

Raven's P.O.V

I woke up to a continuation of a beeping noise. Let me guess. I'm in a hospital room. Damn it! When I opened my eyes, I instantly closed them due to the extreme brightness. I noticed my whole face and head were in unbearable pain. I slowly opened my eyes until I got used to the lighting. I looked around. I was right. I'm in a fucking hospital. Looking to my right, I saw Emerald asleep on a chair next to me, and my mom- wait what?! What is she doing in here?? I thought she was still in her own hospital room. I went to reach for my mom, who was sitting on another chair reading a book, and groaned in pain and went back to my previous position. My mom's head shot up as soon as she heard me. She basically ran to me. She hugged me tightly until I groaned in pain again telling her that she was hurting me. She instantly let go of me. She had tears in her eyes.

"Mom what's wrong? I thought you were still in the hospital with your own injuries."

"I thought we were going to lose you. And I'm all recovered now."

"You aren't going to lose me. See I'm just fine."

"Hone, you don't get it. You've been out for a week. The person who kept punching you also kept making you smack your head down on the rock. There was a big chance you were going to die. You're lucky you you actually remember anything at all. The impact was just too much." She said tears falling down her face.

I hugged her as tight as I could without hurting myself. Then I felt someone else joining our hug. I squinted my eyes open and saw Em hugging and crying with us. In the middle of our hug and cry fest, the doctor walked in.

"Oh, you're awake. That's amazing! How are you feeling?"

"Like crap. My head and face hurt."

"Don't worry I will get a nurse to give you some pain medicine."

"When can I leave here?"

"Well first I will need to do some tests to make sure you don't have any brain damage."

"Ok."

He left the room and I went back to hugging Em again. Mom left to go to the food court to get us some food. Someone opened the door again and I saw the nurse walk in. I let go of Em so I could take the many pills that the lady handed me. Luckily she gave me pain relieving medicine that wouldn't make all drowsy and tired. She left and Em and I decided just to talk. Not to long after my mom showed up with food for us. She gave us each a veggie corn dog and some fries. I basically inhaled mine and Em gave me the rest of hers. What can I say? I'm starving. I have been asleep for a week.

Em looked at her phone then left saying she would be right back. I looked at mom confused and she gave me the same look. Em came back with a small stack of papers and placed them in front of me. I look at her confused.

"Those are the notes, homework, and school work you missed this passed week."

"Thanks Em."

"I'm not the one you should be thanking."

"Then who should be thanking?"

"Me." Said an all to familiar voice.
