I Can't Love Him...Can I?
Chapter 16
Andy's POV-
I walked into Alexa's room, and I saw her beautiful blue eyes. I ran over, stroked her hair. She smiled at me, and, as I leaned in to kiss her, she turned away.
"Doctor?" She screamed.
The doctor came running in, asking if she was alright. I was wondering the same thing.
"Is everything alright, Miss Simms?"
"Yes...I was just wondering when I can go home?" Alexa said. Her face was still pale. It scared me to see her drained of happiness. If you looked up the definition of joy Alexa's face would be there...because all she ever does is bring me joy. This is Juliet and my fault.
The ember that burned inside her...has died.
Alexa's POV-
The doctor said I could go home that day, after pricking my arms about a hundred times and running a gazillion tests.
I was all set to go, when Andy (who won't leave me alone), pointed me in the direction of his car.
I looked into his deep blue eyes, and I saw a cage. A cage filled with the horrifying things that Juliet told Andy she did to me. A cage, bound with steel bars, and with an iron clad lock.
The only secret I ever kept from Andy, and am still keeping from him, is that I am deeply in love with him. I think being in a coma helped me come to my senses.
But, all I know is that our relationship, from the beginning, had been a lie. He didn't tell me what Juliet did to me. He stayed with her, even though she ruined me.
And he's breaking me apart too.
Andy's POV-
"Alexa what's wrong?" I asked.
I could see she was hiding something from me.
"Andy, I'm gonna take a cab."
And with that, she walked away.
Alexa's POV-
"Driver, can you take me to 174 Brooklyn Avenue?"
I need to get away from here.
I sobbed in the backseat of the taxi, and, when I turned on my phone, I got a text message from Juliet from two days before.
"Alexa, I don't know if you'll ever wake up. But I need you to know that I love you. I did horrific things to you, things I'm so ashamed of. It was out of jealousy. You're perfect. In every way. I'm jealous of your beauty, and your voice. And, since the beginning, I've known Andy is in love with you. That's why I've been with Eric. And I took him from you too...and I'm sorry."
I read the text in shock. It was sweet, and amazing. But it didn't make up for what she did.
I took a deep breath, and started to hum revelation.
I was going off the radar for a few days. I need space.
And with that, I turned my phone off.
