I Can't Love Him...Can I?
Chapter 10
Alexa's POV
The moment Andy left with Juliet, my eyes started to swell with tears. I couldn't take it anymore. I ran to my room, and reached under my bed. I pulled out my diary, and turned to the entry I had written when the first day I met. I began to read my words:
Andy is absolutely perfect. His gorgeous, blue eyes are whimsical. They remind me of the pictures my mother had shown me, of the lake my father had taken me when I was a baby, before he died. Whenever I'm near Andy, I feel like daddy is standing near me, telling me he approves of him. I don't know if I have true, romantic feelings for Andy. I can tell he likes Juliet. Maybe....maybe just maybe he'll be mine one day! I'm not sure though. I doubt it...
That was where the entry ended. I then noticed that, at the bottom of the page, was a little note. Here was what it said:
He's mine.
I started hyperventilating. Did Juliet read my diary? All of my secrets and feeling were in it, and it was confidential information. I needed to talk to Jake. He's the guy I'm in love with. Not Andy. Happy Juliet? I never loved your boyfriend, and I sure as hell don't now.
I texted Jake, and he came two hours later, at the exact time Juliet and Andy returned.
"Lex, we need to talk." Andy said, as he grabbed my hand.
I shook my hand free, and said, "I'd rather not, you insensitive prick. Lets go Jake."
I took Jake's hand, and we started going somewhere. I didn't know where. I just knew that I was getting away from Andy. This made me start to feel nauseous. Who was I going to talk to about my batman obsession, or my fights with Juliet? And who was going to make me feel better when I got my period? At least I now have Jake...
We were at dinner, and I started venting to him, about how Juliet had been so mean to me, and my diary, and how empty and broken I was feeling. What he said shocked me.
"Maybe you deserved it."
My jaw dropped. How could he say that! We had been on one date, and known each other for two days, yet I thought we were close enough to be aware of each others feelings.
"Excuse me? Why would you say that?" I asked, flabbergasted.
"Because all you've done today was complain about you're life. You know, my life isn't too great either. My girlfriend broke up with me cause of you! She found out we went on a date, and broke up with me! You're the one that's been forcing me to hang out with you, with you're, 'Oh, Jake, I need you! No one likes me!' Just shut up, Alexa."
"You had a girlfriend..." I stood up, slapped him, and called a taxi. I couldn't get a hold of one. I texted BVB Jake (an actually nice guy), and he picked me up.
I need Andy. Cause love isn't always fair...
