The Water In My Lungs

When I See You Smile

Imogen went back to dance the next day. Of course, she was bombarded with questions. Andrew was the only person who knew about Andy and once everyone found out that the amazing dancer Imogen Bradley not only had a boyfriend but was in love! That was serious gossip around Coder.
She wasn't going to see Andy until tomorrow for her birthday and it sort of hurt a bit to not be with him. Especially after last night.

Now she was going through her pliƩ's to warm herself up. She felt someone tap her shoulder and she whipped her head around. Behind her was her ex-boyfriend, Calum Worthy.

"Need something?" She asked.

"Why are you dating that guy?" He huffed.

"I love him." Imogen chuckled.

"You never said that to me." He scoffed.

"I'm sorry." She said softly.

"And you missed dance for him!?" He exclaimed.

She nodded, "He kind of needed me, Cal. It was more than just missing dance for him."

"Whatever." He scoffed, walking away. She sighed wondering why she'd ever dated him and went back to her pliƩ's. Andrew came up to her soon after.

"What did Mr. Worthy want?" He asked. The best friends always made fun of Calum's last name, seeing as it never really fit with his personality.

"To question me about Andy. Like everyone else." Imogen said, leaning back on the bar.

"Why can't they all just leave you alone?" Andrew frowned.

She shrugged, "Ask them." Andrew surveyed the five girls eyeing Imogen in the corner, all crowded around a newspaper. Presumably the Andy Biersack edition.

"Maybe later." He said, making a face at them, causing the prissy girls to turn around. Andrew chuckled. "So how did you and Andy meet again?"

"Pulled up beside me on his motorcycle. Smooth right?" Imogen quirked an eyebrow.

"Very. And you just fell for him?" He asked.

"Hook line and sinker. Unfortunately, I'm not the only Bradley who did so." She sighed.

"No. Queen bitch- I mean Brooke..." He smirked, devilishly.

"Indeed."

"He interested?"

"Not in the least." She chuckled.

"That's a new one." He rolled his eyes.

"Very true." She said.

"So I'm definitely graduating early." Andrew said. "You?"

Imogen smirked, "Looks like we're doing it together."

"Seriously!?" He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around her.

"Found out today." She smiled.

"You tell Andy?" He asked.

"Not yet. Tomorrow, which reminds me. You can come tomorrow and hang out with us. Small birthday gathering downtown. He's bringing a few of his friends so I can meet them." She smiled.

"Ooh, a chance to embarrass my best friend! Why not!" He laughed.

She shook her head, "I don't know. We've already told each other eveything."

"Ohh. Had any sexy time?" Andrew shook his shoulders. Imogen shoved him.

"None of your buisness. But everything is fine in that department, thank you." She smirked.

Andrew gasped, "Has little Immie been devirginized?!"

"NO!" Imogen yelled, "Gosh Andrew!"

"Had to ask."

"You didn't have too."

"Oh but I did." He grinned and started warming up. She rolled her eyes and joined him.

Andy walked into the bar Jake worked at. His job at the music store ended today and he really wanted to bar tend.

He saw Jake making a drink behind the bar. He rapped his knuckles against the counter and he whipped his head around.

"Andy!" He exclaimed. He flipped his long black hair and smiled.

"Hey man." Andy nodded.

"Didn't expect you tonight. Thought we were meeting your girl tomorrow." Jake chuckled.

"She's not here." Andy sighed, wishing she was, "I came to talk about that bar tending job."

"Oh yeah! Dude we'd love to have you!" Jake said.

"Age thing isn't a problem?" Andy raised an eyebrow.

"Nah. Not here." Jake shook his head.

"Cool."

"Want to start now?" Jake grinned.

"If you want me too." Andy laughed.

"Come on, get your ass back here!" Jake said. Andy took his coat off and followed Jake behind the bar. He threw his coat under it. "Steven, this is Andy. The guy I was telling you about." A guy with dark brown hair, a five o' clock shadow, and dark Irish eyes, complimenting his thick Irish accent stepped into Andy's view.

"Hi Andy. I'm Steven Ryan, I own this little place." He said extending his hand out. Andy shook it.

"Andy Biersack." He nodded.

"Well I'll let Jake here show you the ropes. It's not hard, just learn how to mix drinks and your set. Something tells me your not under practiced in the art." He winked.

"Nope." Andy chuckled.

"Well I think we're gonna have fun here. I'll email you about schedules, pay, and all that after we're sure you want the job." Steven grinned.

"Sounds good." Andy nodded.

"Alright, Jake show your stuff." Steven walked to the other side of the bar and started helping the
customers.

"Okay, Andy. What drinks can you make off of this menu?" He asked, handing Andy a laminated piece of paper. He glanced it over and smirked.

"Too many too count." He grinned.

"That's the attitude. Well we make them a little different here, so once you get used to that, you'll be in top shape." Jake nodded.

"Great." Andy smiled.

The next two hours were spent learning the ropes, how to make drinks, and even serving a few customers. By the end of the night, Andy was positive he wanted this job so he talked to Steven about his hours and they were pretty good. Obviously weekends were the biggest but weekdays were where most of his time was going to be spent.

Sooner rather than later, Andy found himself driving home with a smile on his face. He made a point of going through Imogen's neighborhood, just to check on her. He wouldn't go in though. Not tonight.

He saw her perched in her window as always, guitar propped up in her lap and singing her lungs out. He didn't want to risk her seeing him so he just kept driving by instead of stopping but it gave him peace of mind to see her.

He quickly drove home, making it there in about ten minutes, and then walked inside. All of the lights were off so he just went straight to bed. Daniel was asleep so he just stripped to his boxers and fell asleep lonelier than he had been the past few nights.

Incredibly excited for more then! I just wasn't sure, because if you wanted to end it there, you totally could have. That would have been a beautiful ending, but I'm so excited for more. (:

@Ellie-phant
Thank you SOOO much! I have a lot more of your interested, but I know you already read a lot of them! Its not over, and won't be for a bit. I'm in the process of writing it still and I have been for a long time so I'm too emotionally attached to stop haha!

So, I just read this entire thing in two days.. First, WOMAN! Tell me when you have new stories! I'm terrible at finding things, and you know how much I enjoy your writing. Two, I just sobbed my eyes out. This was beautiful. I cannot tell if it's over, but I'm so in awe, I can't even handle it. You're amazing. <3
