The Water In My Lungs

When I See Fire

Imogen woke up about three hours later to Andy working his fingers through her hair. She turned in his arms and smiled up at him.

"Hey." He said, pressing his nose to hers.

"How long have you been awake?" She asked.

"Half an hour." He shrugged, "I'm really worried for my family."

"Me too." Imogen sighed. They stared at each other for a few seconds getting lost in each other's eyes. Andy's widened and he grabbed his phone out of his pocket. It was vibrating: a call from Daniel.

"Hello?" Andy said, as Imogen rubbed his back.

"Andy, dad left. For real this time. He packed everything he has, took his car, and left. I think it's over." Andy closed his eyes and happily sighed.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Should I come home?"

"I'll come by and pick you up." Daniel said.

"Alright." Andy nodded, "See you then."

"Bye." He pressed end on the phone and smiled down at Imogen.

"He left, packed all of his shit and left." She threw her arms around his neck and started laughing. He squeezed her tightly and kissed her cheek. "I think it's over."

"I'm so happy for you." She said in his ear, but she sounded worried. He looked at her.

"What's wrong?"

"Andy, really it's nothing. I don't want to ruin this." She said as he pulled away.

"Tell me." He crossed his arms.

"What if he tells on Daniel now?" She blurted out. Andy swallowed hard, feeling miles apart without her being in his arms. He kept them crossed, trying to fight the urge to fold her back into them.

"I don't know. I'm just glad he didn't kill them." He said, a bite to his voice. Imogen's eyes widened.

"No! That's not what I'm saying at all!" She exclaimed, touching his arm. He melted under her touch. "I just want to make sure everything is okay before we celebrate."

"Can't you just be happy?" Andy whined.

"Of course I can be happy." Imogen grabbed his hand, "I'm just nervous for you."

Andy sighed and stayed silent for a minute, "I'm sorry." He closed his eyes. "I didn't mean to come off as an ass or something. I'm just..I was and am scared..and I needed you to feel okay about it, so I could."

"Oh Andy, I do." She said as he pulled her into his chest, "I just want you to be safe."

"Alright." He said resting his chin on her shoulder, "Thank you, Im. For everything. You're so amazing and I'm so lucky."

"I love you so much, Andy." She kissed his forehead.

"I love you too." He said. "Daniel is coming soon." Imogen internally groaned, she didn't want him to leave.

"Okay." She said, biting her lip. Andy rubbed her back.

"Will you come with me?" He asked.

"Yes." She immediately answered, making Andy laugh.

"Good." He said leaning back and holding her to him. "Imogen?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry our first I love you was on the phone." He mumbled. She felt her heart drop. She hadn't really thought about it that way.

"It's okay. Under the circumstances I think it's fine." She looked up at him and he smiled softly. Suddenly, his lips were on hers. They latched together perfectly as they always have and always will. Their tounges massaged each other's and his lip ring dug into her lips. His hands trailed into her hair and hers stayed firmly on his waist. Slowly his hands traced down her head, neck, shoulders, hips, and then thighs where he squeezed lightly. She moaned in his mouth, which turned him on even more.

"You're so beautiful. I love it when you moan for me." He said gruffly. Imogen felt a burning deep within her stomach.

"Andy I-I.." She moaned again as he bit at the skin behind her ear, "Why are you so good at this!?"

Andy laughed, "Practice makes perfect. I'm kind of glad I have experience so I can use it on you."
Imogen felt breathless as he worked on her. His mouth leaving small little love bites all over her neck. She tried to kiss him but felt so weak everywhere she just let him do whatever. He sucked on her lower lip his hands massaging her jaw.

"I want you." He whispered.

"You have me." Imogen breathed out.

"Not like that." He sighed looking in her eyes. "Well, like that. Just more."

"Oh." Imogen looked down at her lap. Andy's hands were still softly on her neck. He guided his lips back to her weak spot that he had memorized and kissed lightly.

"I understand if you won't be ready for a while." He said against her skin.

"I-I won't be. But you know, the making out thing isn't terrible." She chuckled. "And I wouldn't mind going, a little farther..." She bit her lip and raised her eyebrows. He grinned at her. She placed there lips together and trailed her hands under his shirt. He moaned slightly in her mouth and she giggled. "I like it when you moan for me." She said in a mocking tone. He laughed.

"Way to ruin it, babe." He said, smiling. His hands ghosted underneath her shirt and touched her breasts. She had never gone this far before and she was acutely aware of the fact that she was wearing a sports bra, tee shirt, and sweatpants. She reached up to let her hair down and Andy whimpered at how attractive she looked. Her hair all tossled and pleated from being up in a bun all day. "Good lord." He said bringing his lips back to hers. She giggled as he pushed her back on the bed. His hands came up to cup her breasts again and she moaned. She had to keep reminding herself that she wasn't dreaming. That Andy Biersack, her first love and hopefully the last, was on top of her. Kissing her entire body and wrapping her in his love. He grabbed her hand and kissed her on the lips, his other hand staying put on her breast. Both of there eyes fluttered open, eyelashes tickling each other's skin. She giggled against his mouth and he sighed, smiling. He laid down beside her and pulled her to him. "I adore you." Imogen looked up and kissed his nose. They heard a car pull in front of her house and they popped up. Imogen saw her dance bag in the corner and she sighed. She grabbed her phone and texted Andrew that she wasn't coming again.

Imogen quickly changed into a pair of jeans, aware of Andy watching her. She pulled on a leather jacket over her Sleeping With Sirens shirt. She slipped into her Sanuks and Andy grabbed her hand.

"Ready?" He asked.

"You bet." She smiled. He led her out of the house and to Daniels truck. They slid in the back bench which was torn and stained from years of use. Linkin Parks' Iridescent was playing and they couldn't help but feel like it was a coincidence.

"You two good?" Daniel asked. They nodded and he pulled into the street. Imogen's head rested on Andy's chest, his chin on the crown of her head. Daniel smiled at the pair in the mirror, wishing he had someone like his little brother did. They seemed so in love and happy. She would die for him and he the same. He always knew Andy was going to find a girl. And a special one at that.

"So Imogen, Andy says your birthday is soon." Daniel said.

"Yeah Friday." Imogen nodded.

"Sweet, sweet." He said. "Andy is doing something special, you better look out." Andy's eyes widened and he swatted at his brothers head.

"It's a surprise." He said, smiling at his girlfriend. She grinned. Usually on her birthday her parents and sister would give her money and put it in her account. Then her grandparents would come over and give her more personal presents, well just her grandma on her moms side now that her papa died. Her dad's parents didn't even know she existed since they never came around.
This year her grandma would get to meet Andy and she'd be able to spend it with him as well.

"Well I'm excited." Imogen said kissing his cheek.

"You're going to love it." He rubbed her arm. The song switched to The Ghost In The Mirror by Motionless In White. Imogen mouthed every word. "I didn't know you liked them."

Imogen shrugged, "I like that Chris guys voice. I love them."

"Me too." Andy agreed. Daniel pulled in front of the trailer. An absence of a little blue car made Andy's insides light with joy. He was really gone. He stared at the dry patch where the rain falling around them hadn't touched in years. His father never left, but he wasn't here.

"Andy?" Imogen snapped her fingers in his face. He blinked and stared at her. "Ready?" He nodded and hopped out with her. They cautiously walked up the sidewalk. Imogen's phone vibrated and she glanced at it.

Andrew: What the hell, Im! We have to rehearse our duet!

Imogen cringed and hit reply.

I'm sorry, Andy needs me. Love you! Tell them I'm sick. It's not exactly a lie.

Andy was looking over her shoulder. "Whose Andrew?"

"I didn't tell you about him?" He shook his head. It seemed like she'd told him everything else.

"He's my best friend since like fifth grade. We dance together."

"You have a best friend named Andrew and a boyfriend named Andrew? You, my love, are obsessed." Andy grinned.

"What can I say I love Andrews." Imogen stopped and trailed her arms around his neck, "Although I really love Andy's." She kissed him quickly, him smiling the whole time.

"Alright love birds, get your asses in the house." Daniel said waving them on. Andy kicked mudd at him and Daniel cursed.

The couple followed Daniel inside the home and Andy cringed as he saw his mother sobbing at the kitchen table. "Ma, are you alright?" He asked, letting go of Imogen and sitting next to her. She fell into her sons arms and hugged him tightly.

"No." She gasped squeezing him. Andy closed his eyes and rubbed her back.

"It's for the best." He whispered.

"I gave him everything." She sputtered.

"I know, do you want to go lay down?" Andy asked. Anna looked up to see Daniel and Imogen standing on the other side of the table.

"No I-I want to cook dinner." She looked at him frantically. Andy chuckled.

"No ma, I'll make it, you go lay down." He said looking at Daniel. He nodded and helped her up from her seat. They walked back to her bedroom and Andy sighed as he watched. "I'm worried about her, Im."

"I know." Imogen said, walking over to him. She placed one caring hand on his shoulder and covered it with his own.

"Want to help me make dinner?" He asked, glancing down at her.

"Sure." She said softly, reaching up to trail her thumb across the side of his face. He connected his lips with hers and moved to the small kitchen area. Looking through the cabinets and fridge he could barely find anything but some frozen vegetables and a few potatoes. He made a mental note to go grocery shopping tomorrow. He was still in pain but he didn't give a shit. He had to step up around his house and take on more responsibility.

"I think it's gonna be steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes." He chuckled and looked over at her. She came behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Great." She said. He wanted nothing more than to fall asleep with her in his arms but he had to cook dinner. He kissed her cheek and started the burners on the stove. Imogen started peeling the potatoes without Andy even asking. It made him smile.

He filled up a pot with water and let it simmer on the stove. Then, he dumped the bag of assorted vegetables in.

"Babe do you have a bowl?" Imogen asked.

"Yeah." He leaned down and took out a clear glass bowl. He handed it to her and she put the three skinned potatoes in it. She took the masher from the basket in front of her and started pounding them. Andy leaned on the counter spaced and watched her, a smirk on his lips. She glanced up at him and chuckled.

"See something interesting, Biersack?" She asked.

"You, Bradley." He said, turning his attention back to the food.

"Me?" She said, continuing to pound on the potatoes, "Ah there's nothing interesting about me."

"I completely disagree." He said stirring the vegetables. "I think your delightfully interesting."

"Do you?" She said, frowning a bit.

"You have so many layers and once you peel them back it's a cavalcade of information." He said.

"Cavalcade," She looked up, "Great word."

"Not as stupid as you would think." He said tapping his skull.

"I know you're smart. Most people like you are." She smiled.

"Like me?"

"Mysterious."

"Ah," He chuckled, "You've seen underneath my mysterious demeanor."

"I have?"

"The way I act around you. That's as loving and personal as I get. You know things no one but my family knows about me. I don't usually tell girlfriends facts about my life. But future spouses..." He smirked, as the masher clamored against the bowl.

"F-future spouses?" She widened her eyes. "After five days?"

He nodded, "Oh yes, Imogen, I love you."

"I love you too." She said looking up at him. Andy opened his mouth to say something but stopped as Daniel walked in the room.

"She's insane." He shook his head and collapsed in a chair. "She keeps saying he was a great man, he was a great man over and over and over again."

Andy sighed sadly and continued cooking. Imogen had added milk to the potatoes and was stirring fastly.

"I don't know what to say." Andy shook his head, "Why is she talking like that?"

"She's delusional." Daniel said, rubbing his temples.

"Or she's just upset." Imogen said quietly. Andy looked up at her a small smile on his face.

"What do you mean?" Daniel exclaimed.

"If my husband betrayed me like that I'd be angry too. For better or for worse, right?" She shrugged. Andy looked at her as she stirred, a small look of concentration on her stunning face. The room had gone eerily silent, only the sound off cooking and soft crying coming from Anna's room was heard.

A few minutes later they finished dinner up and distributed it on to four plates. Then they put the plates on the table.

"Go get mom." Andy said.

"Why don't you do that?" Daniel asked, cocking an eyebrow. Andy rolled his eyes and walked back to his moms room. He felt Imogen on his heel and he spun around to grab her hand. He squeezed it and knocked on his mothers door.

"Come in." She said, her voice cracking. Andy opened the door and when they walked over to her she flinched. "Oh god, no Robert, I'm sorry. Please." Andy swallowed hard and walked to her.

"Ma, it's me. It's Andy." He said lightly touching her shoulders. Anna peeked up at him.

"W-whose that?" She nodded towards Imogen.

"You know Imogen. She's my girlfriend, ma." Andy said, softly stroking her hair.

"A-are you going to get married?" She asked.

Andy chuckled, "I hope so, one day." He smiled.

"Oh."

"We made dinner, come on." Andy said, helping her out of bed. He walked her to the kitchen and sat her down in a chair. "Something to drink?"

"Water." Anna mumbled.

"Okay. Imogen, Daniel?" Andy asked, walking to the fridge.

"Same." Daniel said.

"I'll have the same, thank you." Imogen smiled at him, making him calm down a bit. He grabbed four bottles out of the fridge and sat them in front of everyone. He took his seat next to Imogen and loosely grabbed her hand under the table. Everyone exchanged looks around except for Anna. "Uhm, do you guys say grace?" Andy closed his eyes, worried what his family may say.

"No we never have." Daniel said in surprise.

"Oh alright..." Imogen swallowed. She shot Andy a look and he nodded slightly.

"But we can try, we never have, but wouldn't it be nice?" Andy softly smiled.

"God doesn't exist." Anna said, blankly. Imogen coughed on the sip of water she was taking. Andy put his head in his hands, not even trying to hide his embarrassment. "No God would have put this family through such hell."

"Sometimes he puts us on strange paths but it's all for the greater good." Imogen smiled at her.

"Mhm." Anna said, staring at her. Imogen closed her eyes for a moment. She extended her hand out for her to grab. Andy brought there interlocked hands up so they were on the table. He held his hand out to Daniel, who took it and grabbed his mothers. Now Imogen and her were all that was left. She hesitantly took her hand.

Imogen closed her eyes, "Dear god, we bless this table of food that you were humble enough to give us, I bless this family who has been through so much and deserves a break. Lastly, we bless Anna. She is a beautiful, soul, women, and mother. In Christs name we pray, amen."

A chorus of amen's were muttered afterwards. Andy was looking at Imogen in undeniable affection. "Thank you, Imogen, that was beautiful." Andy said, kissing her cheek. Daniel and Anna stared at her.

"Yes, thank you." Anna said. Daniel smiled. Everyone started eating, and Andy and Imogen's hands were still on the table. Anna kept eyeing them but Andy kept his grip so tight there was no way Imogen could let go.

"So Imogen is a dancer, ma." Andy said.

"Is she?" Anna mumbled.

"Yeah, she takes ballet. She's really good, she showed me a video-"

"Andy, is now really the time to talk about this?" She said, her mouth agape.

"Yes, ma." Andy said, "I understand why you're being like this, but he beat us, you! Why the hell are you standing up for him? Why are you so damn upset?!"

Anna's eyes filled with tears. Daniel closed his eyes and dropped his head in his hands.

"I don't know, Andy. Maybe it's because we had twenty five years of marriage." She said, setting her jaw.

"Of abusive marriage." Andy said, grasping Imogen's hand, who kept her eyes on her lap.

"But we still loved each other." Anna said.

"You loved him." Andy said, "Your relationship wasn't like Imogen and I's, or her parents, or anybody else. He. Hit. You. Why can't you see that?"

"You and Imogen have been dating for five days. Don't your dare say your anything like your father and I!" Anna yelled.

"We're not because I don't hit her. And I never will. Mom, this is a good thing. Him leaving, it's a good thing. I'm happy because your safe and Daniels safe, and I'm safe." Andy held up his wrist,

"Do you see this? He did this. Dad put me in the fucking hospital."

Anna had tears streaming down her face, "I don't know what you want me to say."

"Just say your happy." Andy said, sounding pained, "Your happy that we're safe finally."

"We're never safe." She said. Andy sighed sadly and looked at Imogen. She was biting her lip, her hand that wasn't holding his own was in her lap, and her food was barely touched.

"We are now." He sighed.

"Until he comes back." Daniel said. Anna shot him a look. "Just being real." He held his hands up.
The rest of the dinner was incredibly silent. Only the clamoring of silverware against plates and the occasional sigh. Once everyone was finished Andy and Imogen took there plates up. Anna and Daniel went back to there rooms.

"I'm just gonna wash these, you can sit over there." He said pecking her lips. She shook her head and stood by him at the sink.

"I'll dry, you wash." She chuckled. He smiled, wondering how he got so lucky. He washed the first one and handed it to her. She dried it off and then placed it in the cabinet above her. They continued this until the sink was empty.

"Would you say no if I asked you to sleep over?" He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"I have school tomorrow." She sighed. "Come to my house."

"Will I get in trouble with your sister?" He raised an eyebrow, tightening his arms around her.

"She'll bother us, but she can't stop us." She grinned kissing him, lightly.

"Well then let me get a change of clothes." He said, rubbing her arm and pulling away. He took her hand and led her back to his room. Daniel was laying on his bed and his eyes were shut. Imogen sat on Andy's bed and picked up a pillow. It smelled so much like him she felt like she was hugging him. Mint, cigarettes, and a hint of orange. She sat there drinking in his scent while he rummaged through his drawers.

Andy packed a small bag and once he was through sat down beside Imogen. She had fallen asleep on his bed, hugging his pillow. He smiled and leaned down to stroke her hair. "Imogen.."

"Hmm?" She said.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Mhm." She said, snuggling deeper into his pillow. He chuckled and scooped her up in his arms. He felt pain in his ribs but ignored it. He kicked Daniels foot.

"What?" He exclaimed.

"I'm taking your truck." Andy said.

"I'm taking your bike tomorrow." He said closing his eyes again.

"Will do. Can't ride it anyway." Andy sighed and walked out of the room, his bag and Imogen in his arms. She was passed out and Andy found it adorable.

He walked through the house and out to his brothers car. He opened up the passengers side and placed Imogen in it. He buckled her seat belt and put his bag in her lap. Then went around to the drivers side and hopped in.

About ten minutes into the drive Imogen popped her head up, "Where the-" She glanced at Andy, "Ohh."

He laughed and reached for her hand. "You fell asleep on my bed."

"You shouldn't be driving. Nor should you have carried me." She said, rubbing his knuckles.

"I did it anyway." He smirked.

"Well then, guess I can't argue with that." She shook her head. Andy pulled into Imogen's driveway and turned the car off. It was dark now, but all of the lights burned inside of the large home. He hopped out of the car, as did Imogen. She handed him his bag and chuckled.

"Thanks babe." He grinned planting a kiss on her cheek. They walked inside, her parents were sitting on the couch as always.

"Andy's sleeping over." Imogen said as they walked up the stairs.

"Whatever." Her parents mumbled in unison. Andy felt his heart drop at how much they seemed to dislike their daughter. She was nothing to them. Andy wrapped his arm around her as they climbed the stairs. They reached the top and luckily wasn't interrupted by Brooke and Annie this time. They just walked into her room with ease. Imogen immediately changed into her pajamas, as Andy did the same.

They crawled into bed together and Andy pulled her to him. She pulled at the hem of his bottoms.

"Batman?" She chuckled.

"Hell yeah." He said, grinning and then his smile fell. "Imogen why do your parents do that?"

"Do what?" She asked, tracing a tattoo on his left arm.

"They just..don't care." He said, "Why don't they care?"

"I don't know. They love Brooke, I think she's all they need." She shrugged.

"That's ridiculous!" Andy exclaimed.

"I was an accident, you know." She looked up at him. "My mom, she fooled around with this other guy before I was born and my dad got really mad about it. I still here them fighting about it sometimes. My dad and her did make up eventually and then she got pregnant with me. Not on purpose."

"What happened to the other guy?" Andy asked.

"I don't really remember his name or anything. I just know one day when I was like twelve she broke down in the living room when she found out some guy was killed in a car accident. I assumed that was him." Imogen sighed and buried her head in his chest. Andy's lips pressed to her ear.

"I'm sorry." He said, "But guess what?"

"What?"

"I love you so much, and I care about you more than anything. I would die for you, literally. If your parents hadn't had you I'd be so lonely and so unhappy, but I've got you. And my heart is finally complete." Andy said, "I never have to find someone again." Imogen closed her eyes trying to hide the tears. She failed as they came spilling out down her cheeks. "Why are you crying, baby?"
"I'm so happy with you." She sobbed as he pulled her on his stomach. "You make me forget." He locked his lips with hers in such a loving and passionate way she felt like the world around her had fallen away. "I love you." She breathed against his mouth.

"I love you too." He said, his heart beating fast. She chuckled, feeling it against her hand.

"Do I make your heart speed up, love?" She whispered seductively in his ear.

He closed his hand over hers, "Always." She rested her forehead against his. "We should sleep."

"I know." Imogen said, "But I can't."

"Why not?" He smirked.

"Because any chance I had was taken away when you kissed me." She giggled. He flipped them over so he was on top.

"Well then I guess we're going to have to do something else then." He grinned looking down at her. She chuckled as he smashed his lips to hers. He was well aware of the fact that she had no bra on and was in tight yoga pants. He rubbed her cheek and sucked on her lower lip. His hands ghosted up to her breasts and he massaged them. She sucked in her breath. He laughed, "You're so beautiful, Im." He rubbed his lower half against hers and she moaned loudly.

"Fuck!" She whispered, as he trailed kisses down her neck and back up.

"I'm head over heels for you, love." He mumbled against her skin.

"Right back at you." She swallowed. His hands rubbed down her stomach and one of them rested on her most private area. She gasped.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah." She nodded.

"Do you want to go farther?" He looked straight into her eyes. She thought for a moment.

"Yes." He nodded and started rubbing her through her pants. Her eyes widened and she gasped in his ear. A pit was forming in her stomach that she had never felt before. His hand went down her pants and started rubbing her clit. She pressed her face in his shoulder as he started pumping his finger in and out. "Andy.." She moaned, "I-I don't-"

"Shh it's alright, just relax and you'll let go." He said lovingly placing his lips to hers. She tried to relax as much as she could as his fingers continued to pump in and out of her. The pit in her stomach was growing and he hit a spot deep within her that made her cry out. He chuckled and kept hitting the same one and eventually she let go and came around Andy's fingers. "That right, just let go." He kissed her cheek. She wanted him so bad it was ridiculous and he her. She just wasn't ready and he knew that.

He collapsed down next to her and pulled her into his chest. "Wow." Was all she said, making him laugh.

"You all good?" He asked.

"Never better." She breathed out.

He laughed again, "I love you."

"I love you too."
