Sleeping With A Friend

It had been a month since Aisling and I had become official and I was falling hard and fast for her. We had watched Jaime and Ivy get married and all I could think the entire time was "One of these days I'm going to marry Aisling. Maybe not this year but one of these days I will." She had looked absolutely stunning in her maid of honor dress that made her hair stand out. They say that on the wedding day you're supposed to be focused on the bride and groom but I couldn't take my eyes off of Aisling. When she walked in the door my brain forgot to work. Her smile was breath taking. Her eyes, her real ones not the contacts she wore, were easy to get lost in. I felt that if I stared into them for too long I was going to be lost at sea. I hadn't felt this way about anyone, not even Sammy and we were together for years. To put it to you in the best way I can I'd have to quote Ed Sheeran because "People fall in love in mysterious ways." At first I thought Aisling and I would be nothing more than a fling so I could get over Sammy and she could get over her parent's deaths but it had turned into something more.

"Jinxx, hello is anyone home in there," Andy's voice cut through my thoughts. We were in the studio today rehearsing. As a musician your job never stops. I blinked a few time sheepishly and looked at him.

"Sorry bro I was thinking about Ash," I said and I could feel the heat creeping into my face as I realized that everyone was staring at me.

"We could tell," Ashley laughed. With a huge grin I picked my guitar back up as we dove back into practice. It was hard to think about anything else but I managed to do my absolute best. When practice was finally over, after what seemed like years but was only two hours, I packed my guitar up and got in my car. I had made reservations for Ash and I at her favorite restaurant. Call me crazy to be going all out for a one month anniversary celebration but I didn't care. I got home and showered quickly. As I got dressed I texted Ash telling her to be ready in thirty minutes. It would only take me five minutes to get to her house but I wanted to get her flowers.

On the way to her house I stopped and grabbed a dozen lilies, her favorite flowers. When I arrived I held them behind my back as I waited outside for to open the door.

"Hey baby," She said greeting me with a kiss on the cheek. Even the smallest of things like that made my heart race.

"Hi beautiful, these are for you." I held them out to her and watched as her face lit up. My heart did flip flops and my stomach felt full of butterflies at the look on her face. She hugged me tightly before taking them and disappearing inside. She was only gone a few seconds before she returned.

"I put them in a vase. Now we can go to the mysterious place," She laughed as she locked her house up. I hadn't told her where we were going only that she needed to dress nice, and she had. She was in a small blue dress with tiny black heels. She didn't have her contacts in, which I had found out were only colored contacts because she hated the color of her eyes. She looked absolutely stunning and I found it hard to concentrate on driving because of her beauty. We pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and her face lit up again. God I loved seeing her happy like that and it was almost crazy how much I would do to always see her that happy.

"All this for a one month anniversary," she smiled as we walked into the restaurant.

"Yes but only because of how crazy I am about you," I said. I told the hostess we had reservations and then gave her my last name. She guided us to a table and I let Aisling sit before I did.

"Wine for you tonight," the waiter inquired and I nodded. He poured a little bit of sparkling white whine in glasses for both of us and then took our orders.

"So if this is just for the one month I can't wait to see one year," she said sipping the whine. She had no idea what I had planned for our one year anniversary but I couldn't wait because I knew it was going to make her just as happy as she was tonight. We made small talk while we ate dinner, talking about things from how the band was doing to memories of her parents.

When we arrived at her house she invited me inside. I gladly said that I would stay but told her I didn't want anything to happen tonight because this relationship was not going to be solely about sex. We got ready for bed and as I lay there holding the most amazing woman on earth in my arms I finally decided to tell her what had been on my mind all day.

"Aisling, I..... I love you," I said and then stiffened frightened as hell that she wouldn't say it back. Never before had I been so scared to hear someone say those words to me and never before had I found it this hard to tell someone those words. What seemed like hours, but was only a few breaths passed before I heard her inhale again.

"I love you too, Jinxx. I really honestly and truly love you," she said and I could hear the smile in her voice. I kissed her forehead and lay there as she fell asleep enjoying the fact that she was in my arms and that I could actually call her mine. As sleep finally caught up to me the last thought on my mind was her beautiful blue eyes.

So this one's a bit longer and has a bit more detail. I promise they're going to get better. I've been having to go to the public library to type these but I'm limited to an hour of computer use and I know it would take me at least two hours to type a long chapter with plenty of detail but I promise you guys that the chapters are going to get longer and more detailed once my grandmother and I get out of the financial difficulty we are in and can afford to breathe again. To those of you who are still reading this and haven't given up on me, thank you. You guys have no idea how much it means to me to have even a few subscribers. I have a passion for writing and I hope that one day I can finally finish and publish the actual book I've been working on for five years now.
