Sleeping With A Friend

I wasn't quite sure what love felt like because I had never been in love before but I was almost certain I was falling in love with Jinxx. My heart would speed up whenever he smiled at me. When I found myself thinking about him I could feel the blush creeping into my cheeks and the smile stretching on my lips. I woke up every morning and my first thought was always something related to him. It felt like insanity but then again it didn't. Insanity was something you did alone and was unrelated to people.

"Ash, hello earth to Ash," a voice called out to me from what seemed like miles away. My friends had taken up calling me Ash because of Andy. I blinked sheepishly and looked up at Ivy in the bright lighting of the tattoo shop. I had decided I wanted a piercing so I was going with snake bites because after a four hour debate with the band, Ivy, and Jaime we had decided they would look best on me.

"Sorry I was thinking," I smiled and felt the blush creeping into my face.

"About Jinxx I assume," Ivy said with a devilish grin on her face. She was my best friend so I knew she would know. I nodded and looked up at the guy who was about to put a needle through my lip. I had already forgotten his name but thought it was Marcus.

"This is going to hurt a little I hope you know that," he said with a warning as he sterilized the skin just below my lower lip.

"She knows Marcus but she's brave," Jaime chimed in. Jinxx and the guys couldn't be here today because they were busy in the studio. I reached my hand out to Ivy and closed my eyes. I focused on my breathing, in through the nose deeply and out through the mouth slowly. I had to keep my mouth open a little widely so Marcus could do the piercing. I felt a small prick of pain but that was all. When I opened my eyes he had already done both holes and was screwing the little end on the last lip ring.

"All done," he said but I couldn't see. My vision had gone black and the pain had finally kicked in.

"Well good because I can't see for shit," I said but my voice sounded miles away. I heard someone, Marcus I thought tell Jaime not to let me up from the chair and then there were retreating footsteps. A few seconds later something cold was shoved into one hand and something plastic was shoved into the other.

"Do not get up from that chair until you've eaten that candy bar and drank all that Coke. I'm going to tell your friends how you should clean your piercings because I know you're out of it right now," Marcus said firmly. I nodded and began to eat the candy, which turned out to be a Snickers and drank the coke. Vaguely I heard Marcus telling Jaime and Ivy what I should do.

When my vision came back we paid Marcus and left to go to the studio so the boys could see the new piercings. I felt my heart fluttering and my stomach doing flips as we got closer to Jinxx. Maybe I was going insane or maybe I was falling in love.
