My Life Turned To Ashes.

Ashley's POV

I was walking along the road at about 8 o'clock at night when I saw a little girl in a front yard looking up at a large house that was on fire. I ran over and picked her up cradling her carefully. "Sweetie what happened?" I asked her. She looked up into my face tears streaming down her little cheeks as she sobbed out, "My Mommy and Daddy are dead!" Shit! I pulled out my cell phone and called 9-1-1 and told them what was going on. Within a few minutes a fire truck and an officer were here. I ran over to the officers. "I as walking when I found her sitting on the lawn looking at the house." I frantically told them. "Sweetie what's your name?" He asked her. "Buffy. Buffy Angel Winchester." She replied. Bad ass name. "Are you okay Buffy?" I asked her. She nodded and said, "I stayed low to the ground like my Daddy taught me to." She said. "That was a very good choice of you Hunny." I said. "What's your name sir?" The officer asked me. "Ashley. Ashley Purdy." I replied."Well Ashley if you'd like you may sit with young Buffy here while we talk to her. She seems to have taken a liking to you." The officer said. "Okay Sir." I replied. We went over to the fire truck and sat down and the officer began asking her questions. "Buffy how old are you?" He asked. "4 years old sir." She replied. "Do you know if you have any family that you could go live with Sweetie?" He asked. "No.. My Mommy and Daddy were both only children and my grandparents all died." She said. "Buffy do you know what foster care is?" He asked her. Buffy shook my head no and he told her it's where kids who don't have any family go to so they can be adopted into another family to take care of them. "Officer if I may, I'd like to adopt Buffy. That way she won't have to be put into foster care." I said. "Well Buffy would you like to go home with Mr. Purdy here?" The Officer asked her. "Yes pwease he seems very nice.. But can I bwing my kitty with me?" She asked. "Where's your kitty Sweetheart?" I asked her. She unwrapped part of her blanket and showed me her all black baby kitten. "Right here." She replied. "Aw. Of course you can bring him with you. What's his name?" I asked her. "Morph. After the wittle guy in the movie 'Tweasure Pwanet'." She said hugging her sleeping kitty. The Officer then walked away for a minute before coming back with a stack of papers. "Sir if you would just fill these out you can go ahead and take Buffy home with you." He said. I handed Buffy to the officer and filled out the papers quickly giving them back to the officer. "Okay we've run a background check on you and you are now free to take Buffy home with you. Buffy I'm sorry to tell you this but your Mom and Dad did not survive the fire and nothing in the house was salvageable except for a few movies and things." The Officer said handing her some DVD's. After he gave them to her we began walking away. "Ashy, what's gonna happen now?" Buffy asked me. "Well you are gonna come home and live with me now." I said. "Are you my new Daddy?" She asked. "Yeah. I guess I am Buffy but you don't have to call me "Dad" if you don't want to. Ashley, Ash, or Ashy is fine." I said. "I'm just gonna call you Daddy. It's easier." She said. After that we got to my house and I took Buffy inside.

Hey guys so unlike my other stories I won't be bouncing around to everyone's POV's that way it's more focused on the story instead of what every single person thinks. But just to get what happened in Ashley's head at the time I did his. I will probably be going between his and Buffy's POV's throughout the story unless someone's POV is super important
