My Life Turned To Ashes.

Buffy's POV

I was sleeping when I suddenly heard our fire alarm going off. I grabbed my favorite blanky and my kitten and ran to my mommy and daddy's room. I saw them in their bed almost dead. I began crying and ran over to them. My Daddy looked at me and told me to get out of the house. I did what I was told like good little girl and remembered what I was taught. I stayed low to the floor and crawled on my knees outside and looked up at my burning house. Suddenly I felt someone pick me up and hold me close. "Sweetie are you okay?" A man asked. I looked at him tears streaming down my face and hugged him. "My Mommy and Daddy are dead!" I sobbed. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed 9-1-1 and told them where we were and what was happening. A few minutes later police and a fire truck came and the man ran to them. "I was walking when I found her out here and picked her up. She told me her parents are dead." The man told the police man. "Sweetie what's your name?" The police man asked. "Buffy. Buffy Angel Winchester." I replied. (I'm sorry I couldn't help myself I love these shows.) "Are you okay Buffy?" The man holding me asked. I nodded and told him I stayed low to the ground like my Mommy and Daddy taught me. "What's your name sir?" The police man asked the man holing me. "Ashley. Ashley Purdy." The man replied. "Well Ashley if you'd like you may sit with young Buffy here while we talk to her. She seems to have taken a liking to you." The officer said. "Okay Sir." Ashley replied. We went over to the fire truck and sat down and the officer began asking me questions. "Buffy how old are you?" He asked. "4 years old sir." I replied. "Do you know if you have any family that you could go live with Sweetie?" He asked. "No.. My Mommy and Daddy were both only children and my grandparents all died." I said. "Buffy do you know what foster care is?" He asked me. I shook my head no and he told me it's where kids who don't have any family go to so they can be adopted into another family to take care of them. "Officer if I may, I'd like to adopt Buffy. That way she won't have to be put into foster care." Ashley said. "Well Buffy would you like to go home with Mr. Purdy here?" The Officer asked me. "Yes please he seems very nice.. But can I being my kitty with me?" I asked. "Where's your kitty Sweetheart?" Ashley asked me. I unwrapped part of my blanket and showed him my all black baby kitten. "Right here." I replied. "Aw. Of course you can bring him with you. What's his name?" Ashley asked me. "Morph. After the wittle guy in the movie 'Tweasure Pwanet'." I said hugging my sweeping kitty. The Officer then walked away for a minute before coming back with a stack of papers. "Sir if you would just fill these out you can go ahead and take Buffy home with you." He said. Ashley handed me to the officer and filled out the papers quickly giving them back to the officer. "Okay we've run a background check on you and you are now free to take Buffy home with you. Buffy I'm sorry to tell you this but your Mom and Dad did not survive the fire and nothing in the house was salvageable except for a few movies and things." The Officer said handing me some DVD's. They were all the movies put up on my shelf in my closet. After I was given my movies Ashley and I began walking away from the site. "Ashy, what's gonna happen now?" I asked him. "Well you are gonna come home and live with me now." He said. "Are you my new Daddy?" I asked. "Yeah. I guess I am Buffy but you don't have to call me "Dad" if you don't want to. Ashley, Ash, or Ashy is fine." He said. "I'm just gonna call you Daddy. It's easier." I said. After that we got to his house and went inside.
