Wretchedly Divine (Gasping for Air)

"Shit," I whispered pulling myself out of the trance as quickly as possible. Usually she was already asleep, or at least dozing off, so I hadn't worried about her being up. What was she doing? I knew she had plans to escape, but according to Jake today was a horrible day to be in the city. Was she trying to escape today?

"Shit," I said again, standing quickly and making my way out of my white room and hunting for someone who was supposed to go to the city today.

He rounded a corner and caught sight of The Deviant. "Ashley!" He yelled after the rushing raven headed man.

"What's up Andy?" he asked, already sensing the urgency in my tone and knowing that something was going down.

"She's trying to escape, tonight." I told The Deviant. His eyes widened.

"Jake said that even the outside was crawling with Shadows. Are you sure?" He questioned, looking concerned and concentrating on something in the back of his mind.

"Yeah." I spoke downtrodden. We had one chance to go and get her, and if we failed...

"Me and CC will take a group out to go get her, when is she supposed to leave?"

"I don't know, she's awake." I told The Deviant.

"You know you could tell her today is a bad night to go out." Ashley implied, and I sighed.

"She can't know I'm alive, not yet. I want to tell her all this in person."

"If you really cared about her not knowing you should've stayed out of her dreams." Ashley said, seemingly frustrated but just as soon as he let the words out his face calmed and he tugged his gloves into place, since they had slipped slightly.

"CC and I will go out in a couple hours, she'll need at least that long to wait for the patrols to lighten at eleven." Ashley told me before turning on his heel to go and get a group together.
I put his hand over my eyes, feeling guilt well up in me. Was it selfish of me not to tell her, I'd be saving possible lives if I told her to wait, but knowing her she'd go anyway, and then I'd have exposed himself for no reason, at least if it were three years ago she would've. I barely knew her anymore, only through memories that I forced her to recall for my own selfish reasons, not wanting her to forget about me. I was selfish, I was coming to terms with it, but I wasn't going to change. She was a smart girl, she'd be alright. She probably had a reason for leaving today, surely she knew how well guarded the place was, and how many shadows were lurking around. She'd make it.

She had to.

So, I have another chapter up, yay me, but more to the point, I have written this on my phone, thus the format is shit, because windows OS for phones is dumb as a rock. So if you're reading this and the format is crud, it's because I haven't gotten home to edit anything yet.

In other news I will be posting several short chapters very soon, to make up for the lack of length in these.
