Feels Like I'm Falling In Love
Chris & Stella
"Woahh!" I yell and back up as Stella comes out of her cabin armed to the teeth.
"Oh calm down Chris! They're air-soft guns primed with water pellets. The only thing they're gonna hurt is your ego." She checked the gun in her hands and raised your head.
"Stella, you have a little.." I motioned my nose. She rubbed her nose completely missing the paint.
"Oh come here!" I wave my hang, motioning her forward. She looks at me wearily but obliges.
I lick my thumb and carefully wipe the paint off her nose. It's a dark plum color. How odd. I shift from looking at her nose to her eyes, and are startled by the blue looking up at me.
"You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." I drop my hand from her face, she blushes and drops my gaze.
"Hey now, none of that." I pull her face up so it's looking at mine.
"You're beautiful, don't be ashamed of it."
She smiles at me.
"Your sweet Chris." She stands up on her toes like a ballerina and kisses me on the jaw. Stella is so short, and it's adorable. She turns to walk away and all I can think is Damn, I hate to see her go, but I love to watch her leave.
"Oh, and I'm still gonna kick your ass Chris." She winked at me before joining Karly's table.
"Dude, she is so out of your league." Ashley said coming up behind me with beer and weapons.
"It's a good thing I don't play baseball then." I took his beer and walked off leaving him flabbergasted.
"Alright, listen up!" Andy yelled atop a picnic table. He is such a dork sometimes. Alright, most of the time.
"There will be two teams, team blue and team red! Listen for me to call off your names! I will call out who is your team flag afterwards!"
Andy proceeded to list off the people on each team.
As our luck would go, Karly, Jake, Ashley and Stella were on the same team along with a couple set workers and Karly as their flag.
That left me, Andy, Jinxx and some roadies with me as our flag. Oh joy! Everyone was going to be after my head!
Basically the rules of the game were you had to hit the flag with paint instead of water. Each member of each team had been equipped with different paint types. Stella had of course been the first one to grab the paint balls, as they worked in air-soft guns too.
"Alright in five minutes, I will fire a flare gun to signal the start of the game. Ready? Break!"
Both teams took off running in opposite directions.
Stella
As soon as we were a good distance away, we grouped up to devise a strategy.
"Alright, since this is Stella's first time, she's captain okay?"Karly was the first one to speak, and it didn't look like anybody was going to cross her anytime soon. I nodded my head in recognition and took a quick head count, there were 16 of us in total.
"Alright, this is what we're gonna do..." And I started drawing a map on the ground.
"So Karly, are you good to climb up that tree?" I raised my head. She nodded. Karly was going to climb as high as she could, and we would leave her with five guards. Two stationary 20 feet away from her, 10 feet away from each other. The other three would rotate in a circle 50 feet in front of her. That left ten of us. Four of which would be on border patrol. There were three pathways into their main base and we would send two man teams down each. We would send in the two man teams on the sides first to flush them down the center, since they had the cabins to their back, they had no where to retreat. As they ran down the center path, Ashley and I would ambush Chris.
My explanation took up the whole five minutes, and Andy's flare signaled the beginning of the match. Luckily, they looked like they all understood.
"Come on big boy, we have places to be." I grabbed Ashley by the hand and took off running.
This was going to be a long shot, but I hoped it would work. We made it to our spots, but I was too short to do what I wanted.
"Gimmie a leg up?" I asked Ashley kindly.
Ashley caught my train of thought and bent down to help me.
