Far And Away.
Take Me Away
Flora turned over and smiled a bit as Andy's arm tightened around her waist. They'd been talking about spending the day before graduation together for months and now here they were. His back fit against hers perfectly and she sighed.
How could she ever tell him?
How could she ever let him know her choice..
"I'm sorry, Flor.." She heard him whisper in her ear. She closed her eyes tight.
"About what?" She turned to look in his eyes. Oh, those eyes. God she would miss them..
"I've been such an asshole lately. I wasted time.." He said, brushing a piece of her hair behind her ear. Her skin glowed under the lights.
"I-It's fine." She swallowed, feeling as selfish as possible.
"Are you okay?" He asked, furrowing his brow. He ran a thumb over her cheekbone and kissed her temple.
"I'm fine." She sighed, looking at the wall across from her.
"That's your word of the night, huh?" He chuckled, tightening his arms around her. She only chuckled nervously. "So guess what?"
"What?" She said, swallowing.
"The guys and I may have found a record company. They're really small but I think we have a chance." He grinned, a sparkle in his eyes that Flora could never put there.
"What!? That's amazing, babe!" She exclaimed. He smiled and pressed a soft kiss to her cheek.
"I just.." He shook his head. "I really want this to work out."
"I know." She said, smiling at him.
They laid together, silent for around a half hour. The only sounds wee each other's even breathing and every the air conditioner going strong.
But then the door burst open and her dad was holding a suitcase. "Flor, I got you this! It's red and white! OSU colors!"
And Andy's world shattered.
"What the fuck, Flor!?" He said, his eyes looking as broken as can be.
"I-Andy.."
"You chose OSU?" He said, popping up from the bed. Her father had a sick smirk on his lips.
Everything in Flora's heart collapsed and she began crying harder than she ever thought possible.
"Yes.."
I hate the fact that Flora let her dad get in her head. Had it not been for him, I'm sure she would be going to California with the band right now. Ohio State really isn't a big deal as far as schools go, and the school in California is just as prestigious (if not more so). Even from a more logical and practical standpoint, it does not seem like Flora is making a good choice.
