Fallen Angels

Andy had somehow managed to finish his song while watching Alese sleep. She was absolutely stunning and she was all his. He loved her more than he could ever scream, now how to make her realize that? He started on another song while she quite slept. His movements were careful and planned as to not wake her.

After about two hours she stirred. She slowly stretched and rolled over, facing his stomach and opened her eyes. It took a second but once she registered where she was her eyes got huge and she shot up into a sitting position. She looked terrified.

He chuckled and told her it was okay. She asked what happened and he told her she had fallen asleep while he sung.

“You have a beautiful voice. It’s so deep yet soothing. I don’t even remember falling asleep I just remember being in a trance like state. That was amazing. Thank you..Uhhh I didn’t get your name?”
“It’s Andrew Biersack but most people call me Andy.” He said extending his hand.
“I’m Alese Luc.” She grabbed his hand.

He did not want to let go but she pulled away and smiled. That smile melted his heart. He looked into her eyes and saw the runny make-up and remembered her crying.

“So if you don’t mind me asking, why were you crying? If you don’t want to tell me that’s fine.”
“Well seeing as to how I just slept in your lap, I think I can tell you.” She blushed and continued. “ My grandma passed away this morning and we were really close. That ranch you saw me ride at, that was hers and my grandpas. I don’t know what he’s going to do without her. We knew she was sick but we didn’t think it would happen this fast.”

She started sobbing again and he took her in his arms and held her while she cried again. Once she pulled away she apologized. He nodded his head and wrapped an arm around her shoulders offering to walk her home. She shook her head and said she needed to go see to her horse and ride for a while.

“Well then I’ll walk you to your ranch.”
“ No I couldn’t ask you to do that it’s too far and its chilly outside.”
“Alese, if I go home they are going to bombard me with the Happy Birthday song and want to take a million pictures. Plus the fresh air does me good. Please let me walk you, I don’t want you to be alone right now.”
“Wait it’s your birthday? Happy Birthday Andy! And well okay I guess you can walk me, consider it a birthday present from me to you.” She smiled warmly at him and started folding up the blanket.

He smiled at her turned back and packed everything up in his backpack. Then they set off. At first neither talked, not really knowing what to say. But eventually the conversation turned to music and Andy told her about his studio and song writing. He told her he was about to record his first song and he had ideas for a video. When she asked about the video he just smiled and told her it was a surprise. They finally made it to the ranch and Alese invited him to go see Gimli.

He nodded his head but told her “I have never been around horses much.”
“Don’t worry, he’s a sweetheart. However don’t let his size scare you, he’s my big baby.”

They walked out to the pasture and she whistled. At first there was silence, but then they heard a whinny and here he came. He had grown from a foal to a huge stallion, 18 hands high. His grey coat had darkened and his white patch spread almost the full length of his back. He was quite a magnificent beast.

Alese jumped the fence and ran towards him. He was inches away from trampling her when she put her hand up and he came to a dead halt right in front of her. She put her hand down and he nuzzled her, asking to be pet. She laughed and stroked his mane. He looked over her shoulder at Andy and told him to get in and met Gimli.

He was hesitant at first. But he jumped the fence and joined her. He approached the beast slowly and Alese grabbed his hand and pulled him closer and directed him to hold his hand out so Gimli could smell him. He did as he was told not wanting to upset the beast. He started laughing when the horse blew out of his nostrils.

“That tickled!”

Alese laughed, “He likes you Andy. You know I haven’t really brought anyone out here with me. But thank you for coming, it means a lot. Umm would you like to come for a ride with me? I mean we only have Gimli but he is strong enough to carry both of us. But if you don’t want to I understand.” As she finished she blushed and looked down at her feet.
He smiled at her shyness, “I would love to go riding with you, but I have never ridden a horse before.”
“It’s okay you would be riding behind me so all you would have to do is hold on.”
“Well then, I am putting my life in your hands cowgirl.”

She laughed at the nickname and headed towards the barn with Andy and Gimli right behind her.
