Fallen Angels

As everyone was recovering and having a mini celebration I was planning. I needed some to stay at the sanctuary, I needed the gate opened, and I needed some to go in with me. That was the hardest part, picking who went where. I knew I needed Vic to open the gate, Maya and Ellie would stay at the sanctuary, Jack, Alex, Ashley, Jesse, Orion, and Sephera would all be fighting. I wanted Orion to fight but I also knew what a loose cannon she could be and that scared me. I wanted someone who could use magik back at the sanctuary so I decided that Jinxx needed to stay to keep up the barrier. I also wanted someone who could fight so for that reason I was keeping Jake stationed at the sanctuary also. Plus he had taken a spear through the wing and that wasn’t something easily recovered from. I was torn on what to do with CC and Carla because I wanted Carla to stay incase anyone got hurt and we needed to send them back but I also wanted her on the field for the same reason. I knew I couldn’t keep CC from the fight but I would keep him at a distant for backup and Mike would be out run around guy. He would be the one who would stay out of the fight but watch and report to everyone.

I roamed around the sanctuary for a bit. I didn’t want to break up everyone’s last bit of happiness. I was anxious though. Lucifer had called me out and used my wife as bait. He knew I would take it. He knew I must be going crazy without here and I knew we were walking into a trap. I had to this this though. It was the only way. If I wanted to end this fight it was now or never. As I walked around I was startled when I heard what I thought was thunder. I looked up in time to see part of sky falling. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but when the ground shook my thoughts were confirmed.

I heard screams throughout the camp. The ground shook yet again. I took to the air in search of Vic, Jinxx, or Ashley. I spotted Ashley first. He was rushing out of his house. I landed in front of him.

“Can the barrier withhold this?” I questioned.
“I don’t quite know what this is!” He shouted back fear written all over his features.
“Get to the tower!” I commanded, taking off again.

I found a guard and instructed him to get all the humans to their shelter and not let them out. By now the ground was shaking constantly and many of the humans had to be carried by angels because they couldn't walk. I hightailed it to the tower where most of my group were already waiting on me.

Jesse, Ashley, Vic, Orion, Mike, Maya, Jack, Alex, CC, and Carla were there. Jake, Ellie, Jinxx, and Seriphawere no where to be seen. I landed just as the ground shook again. The tower was built sturdy but it even felt like it was going to fall over. I braced myself on the railing and waited it out. Once the shaking finally stopped I addressed everyone.

“Where are the others?” I asked. Everyone looked around and shook their heads. “Fine we have to start without them. Does anyone know what’s going on?” Everyone looked to the sky but no one seemed to have an answer. I let out a frustrated sigh. “Vic, is this place safe?” I questioned.
“It seems the barrier is holding for right now but I’m not sure how much longer it will last. It’s taking too much damage too rapidly. I can’t guarantee how much longer we can hold it.” He informed me. I ran my hands through my hair and thought about what to do next.
“We can’t delay any longer.” I said as yet another tremor shook the earth. “We leave as soon as everyone is gathered with their weapons. Maya is staying and watching over everything along with Jake and Jinxx. Someone needs to find them! CC and Carla I want you guys with us but near the back. We will need Carla’s healing and CC needs to watch over everything in case the tides turn to lead you in the right direction.”
“Wait,” Ashley interrupted. “Why won’t you be leading us?”
“Because I have my own battle to fight. I have to rescue my wife and end things with Lucifer once and for all.” I explained. They looked to me with worry on their face.
“But..” Jesse tried to step in but I held my hand up to silence her.
“As I was saying, CC will be leading you. I need Vic to open the gate. Also I want Orion near CC and Carla. I need you to protect them. I can’t have you near Vic in case something happens again we can’t have him going under he is too valuable. Jack and Alex will lead the charge and I want Jesse and Ashley on ranged attacks. Mike will be our runner and keep those who stayed back informed and anything else that needs to be reported.” I paused. “Damn it where are those four?” I shouted.
“Looking for us?” Ellie questioned as the four who were missing landed right before another tremor shook us.

We waited it out. This one seemed to last longer and hit harder than the others. Jesse fell, Maya almost slipped off, Jack and Alex both tripped, CC held onto Carla for dear life, Orion and Vic took a corner, Jake held onto Ellie, Jinxx and Seripha ducked under the table right as things got even worse. After ten minutes of non-stop shaking it, finally came to an end. We all stood up and straightened out unsure if something even worse was coming.

“Damn it!” I cursed. This was getting ridiculous. “We know what it is.” Jinxx informed us.
“Do share.” I said a bit annoyed.
“Heaven is finally crumbling. Eve has managed to surpass Adam and is destroying Eden.” Seripha explained. Everyone looked at her in shock. We were all too stunned to speak. “Michael warned me this would happen. Ellie saw it minutes before the first tremor hit and they came to find me. As soon as she told me I knew that the Archangels worst fears were coming true. If we don’t win than life as we know it will be over. There will be no heaven to return to. Eve will be set loose on the world and all of her sorrow will bleed into everyone’s hearts. With each part of Eden she destroys, Adam grows weaker. If she manages to destroy it before we finish off Lucifer, then Adam will die along with most of the angels and our powers.” She finished.

I just stared at her. I had no idea what to say. She had pretty much just told us that our mother was going crazy, and not only destroying our home, but would also kill our father if we didn’t kill our rebel brother who was in love with mother, putting it in the simplest terms possible.

“We have to go now!” I yelled, sending everyone into action. They flew off to get their weapons and warn the rest of the fallen who would be marching into battle with us.
“I am headed to start the spell on the gate.” Vic told him. “Orion will bring my weapon.” I nodded and he took off.

I flew off to get my own weapon. I pushed past everyone and went to where my weapon’s were stored. I pulled them out and felt a pang of sadness as I saw my wife’s. I strapped mine to my back and grabbed my wife’s. I wasn’t going to leave it and she would need it after I saved her. I took to the air and waited at the edge of the barrier while everyone who was going to fight showed up. I flew above them and waited. Once everyone was there and settled I shouted out over the crowd.

“This is our last fight. It is the deciding factor on if we live or die. This is no game. This is for the sake of us and our loved ones. It is also for our home be it heaven or Earth. Heaven is falling right now because our mother is suffering. If we don’t end this now then we all die. So I ask all of you to fight next to me as I take the head of the one who caused all of this in the first place. I must kill Lucifer and take back my wife. He wants to use Alese to finish off Eve and the rest of us after she kills Adam. We can’t let that happen! We put a stop to it here and now!” I finished.

Everyone raised their weapons and cheered. However all too quickly those cheers turned to shouts as the ground shook yet again. They took to the air to avoid the tremors and followed me to the gate. I met with Vic who was concentrating.

“I have it open.” He told me. “I am just holding it until you give the command. I don’t know what is on the other side.” He warned. Orion showed up next to us and put a dagger in Vic’s belt. She gave him a quick kiss and flew back to her place next to CC and Carla.

I nodded to Vic. “Open the gates of Hell.”

So I think I am going to try and update once a month or so. I don't know why but I have trouble staying motivated write if for long periods of time. I love this story but I get distracted lol.
