Fallen Angels

With the tension gone, the next few days were uneventful. Alese went back to training and Andy went back to prepping for the war. They had sent Vic off and were expecting him any day. They needed to know where the war was and how close it was getting to them. All the angels were ready for war, but Andy didn’t want them to leave and be needlessly slaughtered or be led into a trap.

So for the time being, they were trying to save all the people they could. Their safe haven was growing, almost too quickly. One of the messages he had Vic deliver was that they needed more angels to save the humans.

Both his and Alese’s families were doing all they could to help out. They cooked and tried to make sure everyone was comfortable.

Andy was in a meeting when Jake came running in telling him Vic had returned, and he wasn’t alone. He jumped up and sprinted out after Jake, with Mike on his heels. They met him at the training building. Sure enough he wasn’t alone. There stood a girl, an angel. She had long blonde hair and her wings were silver with a hint of blue. She turned and he saw she had the piercing blue eyes to match, almost as blue as his.

Vic walked up and hugged him. “I have much news, but first let me introduce Carla Caracasa.”
“Caracasa? That’s the spring angel.” Andy said confused, he had met him once before. He was hardly around because even if it wasn’t spring he was always trying to find a way to make things bloom, even on the darkest and coldest of days.

“Yes, well she is one of his apprentices. However she has more experience with healing. As soon as Caracasa brought her to earth she found a wounded doe and saved her with no knowledge of Magik.” Vic told him.

Alese walked up to Carla and gave her a hug. “Nice to meet you.” Carla hugged her back. “It’s nice to meet you to Alese. You and him have caused a big stir in Heaven.” She chuckled.
Alese asked her, “Are you planning on staying with us?”
“Well I heard Vic say that you guys are bringing in humans from the outside and are fixing to go to war.” She looked away sheepishly and kicked a rock at her feet. “I would like to help if you will have me.”
“Of course! Why wouldn’t we want you?”
“I tend to mess some things up, Caracasa called me a loose cannon. I can’t really control the Magik that well. One time I tried to bring a rose back to life and let’s just say, we were picking thorns out for a week.”
“We have Ashley, Vic, and Jinxx here who can help you.” Alese said giving her a huge smile.
Carla smiled back. “Thank you so much.”

Before anyone else could say anything CC came running up, “What did I miss? I was in the show..” Once he saw Carla he stopped mid-sentence and just stared. We all laughed, we knew what this meant. Before we could give them a hard time, Ashley and Jinxx fell to their knees and Vic yelled, “Get the humans to the bunker, demons are at the wall.”

Wings unfurled and took flight. Andy, Jake, Alese, Jack, and Alex headed to the weapons room. Andy grabbed his two swords and Alese grabbed hers. They headed back out and threw a sword to Vic who shook his head and set his hands on fire. By this point both Ashley and Jinxx were back on their feet. Ashley pulled a battle axe from under his leather vest and Jinxx was surrounded by a glowing green aura. Jack had a sickle and chain, Alex had a bow and arrow, Jake had a hammer, Mike had throwing stars and daggers, and CC had a long sword. Alese looked to Carla who was surrounded by a bluish aura.

A few other angels joined them, while the rest were ordered to protect the humans at all costs.
“They are trying to get in by the bunker.” Vic informed them. Andy nodded and took to the air, the rest following his lead. He knew they had the advantage of being able to fly, but they had the numbers. When he looked down he saw at least 100 demons and imps.

They also had the element of surprise because these demons where lesser and had no brain, they were all muscle. They descended on them, taking out a good 45 within two minutes. That didn’t seem right and Andy looked to Mike who seemed to be thinking the same thing. At about that time he heard Alese scream and he could feel her fear through the link. He looked over and saw her falling from the sky. He raced after her; he knew he couldn’t make it in time. Seconds before she hit the ground a vine grabbed her and shot her sky ward. He looked around and saw Carla, her aura had started to glow brighter and he released it was her who had saved Alese.
Demons were now climbing up the vine trying to get to his screaming soul mate. He shot up and grabbed her and took off to the barrier in hopes that that would be enough to shut out her father. As soon as they crossed over he shouted for Vic to take her and he had to get back into the battle, he could not let them destroy their safe haven.

After they killed the last of the demons, he took off in search of Alese and Vic. He was covered in demon blood and sweating, but he didn’t care, he had to get to Alese. He busted into Vic’s house who was standing over her chanting something. When Andy came in he gave him a sympathetic look.

“I have no idea what’s going on. It’s like she has shut herself off. I can’t access her mind, I can’t figure out where the pain is, nothing, it’s like hitting a brick wall.”
“I will try though the link.” Vic nodded and stepped back as Andy grabbed her hand and closed his eyes.

As soon as he tried to feel her, he hit, as Vic said, a brick wall. There was nothing, darkness.
